I probably shouldn't have sold it 😔 5.0 GT Ragtop on Wire Wheels! 

Never owned a vert or wire wheels, but that’s one sharp looking car. I’d rock it. I guess some people never heard “ If you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything “ And as always learned a few things that I didn’t know with this car. Enjoy new owner!!

Been driving 5.0 since the 90’s before menace. I currently own a 88 manual vert with chrome Daytons. Just do you man. I would like to see another build like this.

Love Fox convertibles! Got a ‘91 LX and had to replace plastic ‘gears’ in left rear window motor. Always hate fighting the 7/16 ‘screws’ holding the rear seat back in place. Took off the seat back this time and created extensions on the seat back and ’flanges’ on the body. Used double layers of pipe hanger strap with holes every 3/4 inches. Wish I’d thought of this years ago 😂 I’m 76, but old dogs can learn new tricks!

Soooo, this might be a long post but here goes. I'm 45 years old, "white", born in Arkansas and moved to Houston, Tx when I was 9 years old. Went to school in a, mostly Hispanic/black neighborhood. I learned Spanish when I was 13 years old. I joined a lowrider car club when I was 15. I loved the cars and the culture and they accepted me with open arms. I put wire rims on every car I owned because I liked them!! I didn't care who didn't like them.... I liked them!! My favorite car is the mustang but I never owned one during that time. Ive always wanted a foxbody with wire rims, which is why I like this build so much!! No, it's not practical or built for speed, but sometimes you just want a flashy car to cruise around in and be noticed... especially when you are young! That's what this style was about. You buy and modify a car to show off "your personality". That may change over the years but it's an extension of you...at least for those of us who are enthusiasts. I may or may not rock some wire rims on my next project but this car has inspired me to get back to why I chose cars as a hobby in the first place! P.S. If you like slammed, lowered, airbagged cars, you have the Lowrider community to thank for that! Just saying,

I will chime in here. As a 50 year old AA male, I appreciate all custom cars, trucks etc. I think some people have forgotten what Car Culture is all about. Expressing YOURSELF through vehicles is what makes the car culture great. Seeing what someone else has done. People need to understand that when someone customizes a vehicle to their liking, it’s not to please the whole world, but to express themselves on what they like. Whether it be stanced, big wheel old schools, hydraulics, airbags, trucks on big lifts and big tires etc. I never judge people on what they like. At the end of the day, no one is giving up any cash to help fund someone else’s hobby, so why do people care so much about what someone else does to the vehicle that “THEY OWN” and spend their hard earned money on. Get over it. If you don’t like certain flavors, then stop watching that flavor, go watch something else. Why watch something you don’t like? You don’t need to leave a negative comment about it. Just go somewhere else.

Never mind people Chris. The car looks cool and somone will be happy to have it. That is the problem with the mustang community....they always think they are better than everyone else. What is disgusting is that people are making sour comments.

The views speak for themselves, a 5.0 GT convertible on wire wheels is what the people want to see! You did great work on the car and it looks super clean! The new owner will get a nice car.

I think the car is freaking sick! It's not really my style at all, but I would drive the shit out of it! I hate to see it go. And I absolutely cant stand the negative BS thats on RU-vid or Facebook or whatever, anytime someone asks a question on Facebook groups, someone has to comment and try and make them look stupid, just because they dont have as much as experience with these cars as them, really pisses me off!

I saw this 5.0 driving down HWY79 w/the top down a few weeks ago in Round Rock.... The Menace II Society wheels looked good and caught my eye.

I appreciate you bringing this issue to the forefront Chris. I was hoping that the vile racist comments that folks (people of color) received by having wire wheels would stop when you introduced Project Menace on your platforms......obviously it didn't stop. It's ok to put 17x9s on a foxbody, only if it's tucked underneath and not sticking out? Wtf? I have a 91 quadruple white GT (white ponies, white top white exterior/interior) that I'm finishing up the sound system and some engine mods this winter but come spring, my wires are going on it! I like all foxbody stangs whether it's tubbed out or skate-boarded. I'm sure the racism will not stop but I'm just glad and was hoping you addressed it and you did! Thanks bro!

Don't matter what anyone tells you, all wire wheels are made in China, even Dayton. Dayton comes in the same shipping container as another major brand from China. The difference is, Dayton, Luxor, and a few wire wheel custom builders, polish, chrome, true, and build them here with China manufactured parts. So there is still a quality difference, but they all come from China.
