Mcdonalds has any sized iced coffee for 99 cents via their app. Have poop bucket will travel , do a fast mini build a cot with a mattress, bucket toilet , pee bottle, some packing cubes a duffle bag, something to hold laundry , and a cook set of some type . for short trips milk crate type things would probably hold most of what you'd need. Do a few quick 2-3 night trips to figure out what you want , don't want in the van, then extend the trips to a week. a month , a life. there's always travel nursing for a different length contracts if you get bored of moving around and want to stay put for a bit and bank some $$..
My job sucks. I wanna quit. Getting fired would be more convenient. Where I live if you get fired without you doing anything wrong you get unemployment checks for 5 months if you've worked for over 3 years at the same place. I haven't been unemployed since I was 15. My company is always late with my paychecks and time off so if I get a lawyer involved I still get paid my unemployment checks if I decide quit. I have no idea what I would do but there's an opportunity to move abroad starting next year. I have been preparing for that. I used to have 2 extra freelance jobs. If I still had those I'd quit right now... they paid a lot more than my day job but were unstable.
a job is overrated anyway..instead of working for someone you can always work for YOURSELF. but yeah, if you want to build something you always have to start from ZERO, good luck to you.
You’re doing what I’m doing😁 I’m converting a van while I’m living in it….. and I have a RU-vid channel and I’m putting it on RU-vid. Also just like you.😎👍….. I have a 2022 Ford transit cargo high roof extended that I’m converting so I can live and work out of it as I get older with my dog.😊 My channel is my name
Ha, last of your two-digit subscribers. No. 99! Youre gonna make it big with this channel, at least thats what the universe told me, haha! Greetings from Germany 😊
We'll if she currently is unemployed with little income she could go on state medicaid in most states. It's income based not asset based as long as she has a MAGI under around 20K . It works best in her home area PPO but ER would be covered out of network and urgent care in some cases depending on the state and plan. There's also ACA high deductable plans or Silver ACA I'd guess with an income around 25K you'd have a decent subsidy probably getting a plan from 0 to around 120 a month depending on co pays and total out of pocket costs depending on home zip code. Dental , vision typically would be out of pocket although medicaid does cover cleanings in most states and sliding scale pricing by income for any work, although it's pretty hard to find a medicaid dentist accepting new patients.
Youre young enjoy it. As someone who has gone down this path before.. it's good well you're young.. but it's horrible if you're alone. As a guy in good shape I lived van live with my best friend to start but hated the alone times when its just you and the van and the stress. The luster wears off quickly when you're alone with the van feeling like you're being creepy. But when the times are good it's the best.. after a while of pissing off people with your presence, worrying about constantly having your life towed, getting randoms banging on your windows in the night and have 0 space it wears thin. I also regret not starting a family sooner and you can't do that in a van. I think glorifying van life the way we have done recently is sad. It kinda retards people from starting their lives. Nothing beats a hot shower in a house and a toilet that flushes.. good luck with it. Minimalism kinda sucks and impermanence leaves you unsettled. Dont put off having kids its my biggest regret, but glad i still was able to have some. Living van life was selfish and self serving and while fun at times it really was kinda wasteful.
Okay, you quit your job and traded your vehicle for a van. Savings don't last forever, so where's the funding to build your rig out coming from? Why quit with no real plan ?
