I quite Smoking 10 years ago but ended up with a vicious Vaping habit that I only broke last year. This is the story of how i finally quit smoking, how useful vaping was in that pursuit as well as smoking and vaping anecdotes from the last 35 years of my life !

It will go away. I stopped 14 years ago and I know exactly what you are talking about. Though it may take years until you will have 0 desire for smoking.

It's great that you managed to stop smoking. I have been smoking for 39 years, but off and on. I didn't smoke during my two pregnancies and breastfeeding. I managed not to smoke for a year and then had a relapse during a crisis. I had been vaping for half a year. I have decided not to stop smoking. Because of my PTSD I have dissotiative states in which I no longer know what I have done. If I then smoke it is beyond my knowledge. I don't drink alcohol or coffee. I'm very happy about that because an alcohol problem would be worse. Since I started using tobacco without additives, filters without plastic and unbleached hemp paper for rolling, my lungs have been doing much better. Of course it's better not to smoke. If I can't stop, I at least want to enjoy it.

Hell we're all just doing the best we can. I quit after 25 years maybe one day it will be the right time for you. Sounds like you're pretty clear about it. Good luck fellow traveler

I had my first cigarette at age 4 with the older boys down by the river, but I gave it up fairly quickly. 🙂I am lucky. I think that some folks definitely have a physical tendency towards addiction, along with the super strong chemicals in cigarettes, which makes is much harder to quit. I smoked a little off and on when I was older, but never got addicted. Your video is really helpful for folks trying to find their way through cigarette nicotine addiction. Thanks for being real Rick.

great video man, im 16 and i vape and smoke but have been trying to find the motivation to stop this really helped. dont think ill ever quit weed tho :D

I've never been a smoker, but I have alot of very close family and friends who smoke, most of them have quit smoking but it was very very hard for them to do that, I found ur video really interesting thank u for talking about ur journey through quitting smoking ❤

I had my last cigarette June 1st 2014 I was a heavy smoker! It was the hardest thing ive ever had to do but it was worth it 100% 👌

I'm 72 and have never smoked. I do drink beer so I can understand your plight a bit. Your journey sounds excruciating, glad I avoided it.

Yeah smoking is a whole deal, I'm glad you avoided it too! I'm working on starting up a beer habit but I still only have one or sometimes two a day, so it's slow going... thanks for the comment !

I smoked for less than one week. This was over 20 years ago was in my early 20's and was hanging out with my cousin in Italy all of whom smoked and most have quit. Anyway I bought a pack of cigars and smoked a few. The smell on my hands, the awful, acrid taste on my mouth, fetid dragon breath and chest congestion, despite the fact that I wasn't inhaling was absolutely disgusting. I did find the "buzz" somewhat interesting but fleeting and short lived. However these side effects were so awful to me that the overall feeling was useful in completely vaccinating me against all forms of tobacco. There's nothing there. Its all in your head. You can look this up its not me being racist or nasty, but the truth: a tobacco exec many years ago once said "We reserve the right to smoke for the YOUNG THE POOR THE BLACK AND THE STUPID". The young, the poor and the black all have since long quit.... Congratulations on quitting best thing you ever did.

Yeah I was young when I started and poor off and on. Often quite stupid. I'd add one, the weak and the lazy. I've been there too!
