I quit sweet express. Here’s why: Royalty Free Music from Tunetank.com Track: The Lost by Ostin tunetank.com/t... #sweetexpress #truckdriver #sweetexpresstrucking
I’m quitting trucking and leaving sweet express for good on 6/3/24! I am still very happy with sweet even through the hardships over the last 1.5 years. I have you and them to thank for helping me tie up some loose ends in my truck driving career of 12 years but on 6/3 I’m walking away from the trucking industry all together. I’m just done with the bs. It’s not for me anymore. And yes all the office staff and mechanics and upper management have been awesome and still are.
That’s awesome! And with how things are anymore in this industry, I don’t blame ya. In the video i mentioned trying to peruse other opportunity’s elsewhere & applied for multiple different things, but had no luck. I wanted to be a remote driver recruiter and work from home, i applied to be a manager at a car wash local and make like $28 an hour since i have years of experience detailing and and mechanically inclined. I even tried to be a CDL instructor for like $63k a year but didn’t get selected for that either. Might have to re visit some of these things when the economy gets better.
23 YRS THE PAY CHEQUE YOU TAKE HOME IS. $ 700.00 DOLLARS SHORT THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY SHOULD BE CALLED SLAP IN THE FACE TRUCKING **WATCH ** POWER SLAP SAME THING
@@timquinn9036 my checks were 1100-1600/week, I just got to a point where the driving became monotonous and boring and got tired of the idiots on the road.
Hey I’ve been waiting for you to post an updated video! I’ve been following you since I started at Sweet. Me and Austin were in the same orientation class. I literally have nothing bad to say at all about Sweet. All companies have to adjust to stay afloat, but it was just too many changes and it basically forced my hand to explore other options and my last day there was May 1st. I was also regional and when they dissolved the regional lanes it was the beginning of the end for me. I started trying to find something local at that point (Mobile AL) and it was hard by me being a SAP driver, but finally I was blessed with a local route with another company and so far I’m loving it. Just like Austin my pay was cut as well and we talked and decided that our tenure at Sweet was surely coming to an end. Good luck to you bro. Thanks for all the videos you post. I’m a huge fan and enjoy living in the south!
Wired! I’ve heard lots about you! You live down there near the gulf as well. I know you guys were running those GM loads down to Brandon forever. Have you looked into where Austin is at now? Seems like a good dig if you wanted to stay regional or whatever. I’m glad to see you’ve found something local and enjoying. There just isn’t much around when you’re trying to be a trucker and you have in SAP/ or have a DUI like me. Fortunately its been over 5 years for me so im open to a lot more options now, and I’ll have more updates on that soon! Stay in touch, im trying to be more routine on here
Going through this right now. I live in PA but regional with a company that doesn't do loads in my state. Trying to get home is always a problem. Got a new dm after my last 34hr reset and this dude has me running stupid loads at night. I'm talking driving to the shipper just to pick up a load for someone else. Wasting my clock. I went from a local to a regional job because of a stupid accident that someone else caused. Basically he slipped behind me after checking behind me and couldn't see him in my mirror while docking.
You should’ve went to Crete Carriers instead of smith. They have better equipment, pay, benefits and dedicated stuff. No broker freight only customer freight.
i looked into crete, and was interested. however smith also exclusively does on dedicated customer freight, zero broker stuff. the reason i didn’t go is i have a 5 year old DUI and i needed 6 more months to be fully past the conviction date to be eligible for hire. maybe in the future!
you gotta want it if you’re gonna stay out for any extended period of time. the hunger for the road and the money is the only drive to keep anyone out like that
man it’s been so long since i was there. i have no idea if sweet changed the process for that stuff. when i was in orientation, i did some of a verbalized pre trip with the guy carlos that worked there, no idea if he’s even there still. i got some of the way through and they realized i knew what i was talking about so he kinda stopped me so that eased the stress of the situation. the road test was easy for me and relatively straight forward. a couple left turns and right turns around the area of the terminal and when you come back, a sight side back into the spot you pulled out of
they’re both old enough that it may be possible, to be honest, i’m not 100% sure. it’s been so long since i’ve been there, im unfamiliar with current hiring requirements. i do know from 2021 when i got hired there to more recently, they have changed. in your case, they’re both old enough for me to say well it’s worth calling up nick in recruiting and having a conversation about it
@@will_i_am_legendary i have no idea what this dude is on about or what the point is. is he trying to make fun of me or you? people in our situation? i’m sure this person never made mistakes in their entire life. he’s calling people clown but he’s the one behind an anonymous ass profile trying to throw shade 🕺🏻
@@freshwhiteteee you crying because you keep fking up, just reality - you become the clown when you make excuses and expect 23 chances, keep on clowning around though, youtube can deleting my message, not going to change the facts!
@@freshwhiteteee no sweet express is doing escrows now where you have to pay them 50 bucks a week until it hits 1500 then you get it back once you return the truck in good condition
the life of a trucker is hard and getting harder, thats why its becoming mostly immigrants because most americans are not built for it, you gotta be hungry and wanna give your life to it for it to work
yeah absolutely. it’s a hard sacrifice to make selling your time in exchange for money. everyone’s situation is different and can be very difficult to do
Yeah man there’s nothing wrong with them, it was just the changes discussed in the video that drove me out. Still good people to work for, I recommend overall
i liked sweet and enjoyed my time there. it’s changed as described in the video, but i don’t regret my time there and would still generally recommend it if it checks your wants and needs
@@freshwhiteteee wanna thank you for the info I was looking for a company and I found them thru you but you are correct about a few things as far as them getting rid of those perks of being there a couple months for me I’m out of the industry permanently
which is true. you wouldn’t be wrong about that. they give people opportunities like that in the program & have flourished because of it. i have brought thousands of eyes and hundreds of inquires their way from folks like me that just needed someone to give them a chance.
@@freshwhiteteee what chance do you have sitting in a garage swilling down white claws out of the fridge next to while you make loser videos about being a loser? Just a dirty little driver.
@@EboneDrake-ll7ib absolutely. now mind you, i got hired in 2021 when freight was great, then got a 7 cent raise. their hiring criteria was way different then, so im assuming they had to change or alter their insurance because that’s what essentially dictates who they can and can’t hire
@@lancehammons5918 i used to live up there in PA near them. i’m down in SC now, but i see they still service this area down here as well. do you know their DUI policy. most places it’s like 5 years post conviction date or something.
@@lancehammons5918 might have to check it out. if it’s the same as heartlands policy, i think it’s 5 years. i’m gonna look into it. appreciate the info!
@@freshwhiteteee Office furniture from Haworth, and Knoll to California, then Produce back to Meijer in Lansing… sometimes Gordon foods or Aldi… pay is between 50-60cpm depending on experience and record… trucks go 75mph, full w2, BCBS benefits, dental, vision, per diem, 401k, monthly mileage bonus where you can earn an extra 10cpm for all miles, which they will keep you busy.
i used to do a TON of knoll and haworth office furniture with sweet LOL! is it reefer only or do they do dry box as well? and what kinda hometime do you get? i live down in south carolina now
@@freshwhiteteee we get loads of Hudsonville ice cream that go from Michigan down to north and South Carolina… home time is extremely flexible. I recently switched to team driving here, but as a solo I’d stay out for 3-4 weeks then take 7 days off. They won’t micromanage here especially if you are a runner! But we have a lot more of the same freight you were seeing at Sweet. But yeah it’s all reefer and dry Van here
@@SannarClaus i appreciate all the answers! i have some apps in at different places at the moment, but might have to reach out. seems like a good gig over there and i see the trucks all over the place. i’ll send them an email or something
