Really enjoyed Sunday’s race - knocked 70 seconds off my age group PB, and even managed to finish 1st in my M70-74 category in the first race in my Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 shoes.
Interestingly my training has been focussed on the Amsterdam 1/2 Marathon in 3 weeks time - Sunday was very much a warm up race to gauge how the 1/2 Marathon training was going - definitely got an answer to that question!
Congratulations on you PB! I'm on week 10 of a 16 week training program for my local November 10K in Japan. Although I've run the race a few times, I've never tried a training program before.
i feel really inspired and educated from how you handled getting the cold just before the race... maybe weird, but if that was me i would have been thinking my race is not going to go well, i put in all that training for nothing, etc.. you seemed to shrug it off and give it a really good go anyway. keep doing what you're doing! you are a really inspiring person!
To be honest I certainly was feeling pretty gutted the night before but it’s one of those things you can’t change so I find it best to try to reframe things and just told myself to give it everything I had regardless :)
Congrats on your journey in training , running and everything you go through , on this wild ride adventure , just started training for my first race abroad ,and my first ever marathon ,in Barcelona next march , excited to boost my volume Per week ❤🎉, your videos truly keep me plugged in keep it up 🙏
ran my first 10k race ever this last Sunday. Started running 4 months ago, not able to go 2 miles without stopping. Got 50:12 in the 10k, which I'm super proud of, and already looking forward to the next one, and breaking 50!
Going from not being able to do 2 miles without stopping to 50 minutes in the 10km is pretty great stuff. I know people who have been running for years who would love to have your time. Keep it up, and I hope you enjoy it. :D
Brilliant race well done!!. It was sooooo good to see you fist pump a CAMBUSLANG harrier as Im from Glasgow and know a few runners in that club!!...👍🏻👍🏻x
Amazing run Ben and an awesome PB 🥳 Your training block video has been very inspiring so well done from a content perspective 👍 Your PB is exactly 10 minutes faster than my 10k which just blows my mind in a good way 🙌 Keep running, keep vlogging, and above all keep injury free 🤞
Love the videos! Hopefully you only had a cold and not COVID. I contracted the latter (unknowingly) and it negatively affected my race time. Looking forward to your next trip to Kenya!
Congratulations on PB Ben, fantastic run and effort that 30:30 will come. Great to meet you and catch up on the start line before. Was in the yellow vest aiming for 40 min 10k. Just missed it by 5 seconds 41:05 official time came through 5k at 19:56. It was a very windy course in last 2km and the up hill coming back on the strand by Tina musical
@@BenIsRunning yeah always a great event and race always quality to run streets of London home race in many way . Still that race was a PB so can’t complain really
@@BenIsRunning my first race of this size and can't say I was a fan (and I avoided the worst of the chaos around numbers). I'll stick with smaller events I suspect but nice to give one a go
Did this race on sunday, ran most of it right next to that guy from Japan who spoke to you at the end! Was my first ever 10k run in just over 32 mins. You're lucky they posted your number though!
Came here to say this! Awesome work on the PB but 100% tattoos will affect performance - I love all of mine but they are a pretty strong trauma for the body as anyone who's gone for a long sitting after a tiny breakfast will attest!
Saw you at the start but didn't get a chance to say hi, unreal time ... I got a slightly less impressive PB but a PB nonetheless 😂 Was a great day though, although the tourists constantly crossing the roads were an absolute nightmare.
Btw absolutely not a dick if you don't respond when running! People either realize you're in the zone, or that you're moving so fast that the sound waves just aren't catching up
Congratulations on the PB. The Colchester Castle parkrun crew gave you a shout out 400m to go. If I'm not mistaken, you were walking through St James's Park not Green Park.
