In my opinion, Grovyle is the only middle evolution that genuinely looks better than its final evolution, which is saying something because Sceptile still looks sick. Glad to see it was your #1 as well

Ok I've gotta pipe up a bit for my boy Dewott cause this line is getting a lot of shade so far! Dewott really starts to bring in the samurai aesthetic with the top knot, the whiskers, and the shell blades strapped to the hips ready to go full Vergil JUDGEMENT CUT on anyone who tries to jump him! Of course all in good fun, love the videos and excited for the final stage rankings!

I actually think Dewott is one of the best middle stage starters. And glad to see Johto starters getting some love. Always thought Quilava was so clean lol

I love this editing plus the script, it's truly incredible. BUT if anyone else tells me that Drizzile is a better mid-evolution than Dewott we about to throw hands

I think Monferno deserves more credit for looking like a natural evolution to Chimchar and pre evolution to Infernape whilst having an awesome design of its own

Braxien isn't perfect, but if it were Fennekin's final evolution I think everyone would like it more than Delphox. The tail broom fire friction wand thing was actually really cool, and I'm sad it went away when it evolved. If its real middle evolution was just a bigger quadraped that would have been way better

Ivysaur to me is the clear number one. Nobody rates it yet it is the perfect middle evolution between bulbasaur and venusaur, which is what the middle forms were supposed to be. Also, even in a vaccuum, it has a clean ass design. Edit: side note I love how on bulbasaur the back flower is just a bulb, then on ivysaur the bulb opens to reveal the closed flower, and then on venusaur the flower finally blooms into a large beautiful plant. Really exemplifies the excellent job gamefreak did with transitioning one member of the line to the next.

I could listen to this guy talk about Pokémon forever. Literally top-notch entertainment.

I honestly like grovyle’s design more than sceptile

Grovyle is literally the only middle evolution (not even just among starters) that i really didn't want to evolve since it looks sooo cool. I prefer it's sleek design to the more bulky Sceptile (which is still a great design, but just not on the same level). Mystery Dungeon bias could be partly responsible for this. Time/Darkness/Sky are THE best pokemon spin off games.

As of recent, Braixen has managed to quickly climb the ranks to my Top 5 of all Pokémon. Such a great design, and probably the best looking of its line (and this is coming from someone who likes Delphox too). Shoutouts to the anime and Pokken for helping me come to love this fox

Now as a guy who likes every Starter Pokemon [Yes, I'm serious] as far as Middle Evolutions go its hard to rank all of them in one as of now, but these are the ones that i love dearly as far as top6~ Quilava [Favorite Johto mon] Torracat [Favorite Alola mon] Braixen Servine [Favorite Unova mon] Dewott Raboot.

My favorites from each gen are: Charmeleon, Bayleef, Grovyle, Monferno, Dewott, Frogadier, Torrecat and Raboot!

I actually really like Drizzile as a middle stage (I find it a lot better than Intelleon) so I'm glad to see some others that appreciate it.

I'm upset that dewott didn't take no.1, really makes up for the oshawott line (and the only time I actually preferred the middle evolution than the final/first)

as always, the funniest thing to me about these videos is how he talks about ranking things, down to putting the tier list image in the thumbnail, and then he comes is with a numbered list. amazing. I don't know if anyone notices it, or if he's even doing it on purpose, but I'm pretty sure this is an active choice. and it's funny. but also this guy kills it with the writing and summing up what's good or not about pokemon. I can't even be mad if he disses a pokemon I like. and mad respect to the johto middle starters! bayleef croconaw and quilava are not only great progression on their previous forms, they're fantastic steps on the way to their final evolutions (which I see I like more than he does). I think johto might have the most consistently good starter pokemon across all their evolutions, of any generation.

Brionne was actually one of my favorites, that line being one of the only two that made me go water. The other being Totodile of course, that's just an A+ gen starter wise, hardest of the lot to choose.

Personally, I love Ivysaur. Top 5 for me. I think this is one of the rare example of me liking every evolution. Cool colors, cool plant on head, and overall really cool design. I think I would switch him with Bayleef

This video gives me mixed feelings. On one hand you put some of my favorites way lower than I expect like Dewott, Braixen, and Brionne, but you also had good points on why some of the other mid evos I don't really like have good designs like Frogadier, Raboot, and Servine.

I usually agree with most of your takes but your not telling me you rate Dartrix. If Quilladin was drawn by a 2 year old, Dartrix was born by the grown up game freak employee who drew Quilladin. That man got even worse at drawing

If not for Servine I think the Unova starters would be all bottom tier but Quilidon man truly one of the most rom bootleg evolutions to be conceived.

My favorite is Ivysaur, but I also love Grotle, Grovyle, and Torracat. I don't like Prinplup or Combusken. Also, I think Servine is lame because it seems like someone used a pokemon fusion on serperior and snivy

Middle stage starters work better for the grass types because plants have a more gradual growing.
