I also read The Writing Retreat and The Venue earlier this year. Loved them. So much fun. And I started The Last Word yesterday, but I had to work today. Like it so far. Bright Young Women is on my 2024 TBR.

I like these recommendation videos a lot and appreciate your videos! Just wanted to point out that The drowning woman description is inaccurate. Lee is not a wealthy woman and doesn’t appear to have it all. Lee is homeless and living out of her car when she rescues Hazel

recently picked up part of your world at an independent bookstore and im soo excited to read it!!! some of my faves I read this year were lessons in chemistry, dead eleven, wrong place wrong time, as long as the lemon trees grow, and blood sugar!! i read countless other great books but those were some of my favee :)

Stand outs for me this year were: Foe by Iain Reid (thank YOU for introducing me to this one!😁) and No Exit by Taylor Adams. I’m about 60% non fiction and 40% thriller/suspense. The Venue and Linghun are for sure reads for me in 2024!

I really enjoyed The Drowning Woman. It's a sleeper right now, I don't see many people reading it. I hope it picks up steam. It was a shame it didn't make the Goodreads Choice. I also enjoyed Sign Here. Super excited to read Bright Young Women which I will pick up in a couple of weeks. Lots of great reading choices!!

If you like an eat the rich kind of story you might like Kaiju Preservation Society by Scalzi. It's a fun scifi.

I've read about half of these and now I want to read the others u loved. Such a good list! Our Share of Night looks so good. I really liked Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel. It's a backlist book but nothing published this year I absolutely loved 😐 except Finlay Donovan and Vero's short story the author wrote

Linghun was very solid for me, a great idea but too short. Like you I gave it a 4. I loved Our Share of Night, I think it's, from a literary perspective, one of the most dazzling novels I read this year, I gave that a 4.5. I watch your stuff more for the horror since I don't read thrillers but Looking Glass Sound seems like one I think I'd enjoy, I am picking up strong twinsy virgo vibes from you on that. If you want recs, well....tell me what you want, what you really really want 😂 you seem to like "smart" psychological books, I think you'd really enjoy The Hole by Hye-Young Pyun. It's dark and bleak and depressing but really goes into dark corners of the brain that I loved. If you're like no Chris, don't depress me, I'd say I Love You So Mochi by Sarah Kuhn. It's a young adult romance but it's my favorite romance novel, and if you like a wholesome coming of age story that is basically a literary tourist guide around Kyoto, Japan then you will enjoy it for sure. I had to stop reading ‘Bright Young Women’ and pick up ‘A light in the dark’ written by the one the survivors from the sorority house that BYW is based of! It is the true story of the events, written by the survivor, released this year around the same time, it felt a bit ick to be giving praise to someone simply fictionalising these events over the person who lived them 🤔
