Haley, this should be a monthly ordeal!! Each month, pick a new genre within which to read 7 books in 7 days. It would be a really fun series! You could do fantasy, adventure, classics, etc. etc. It would also be another way to get out of your comfort zone with genres, and we all trust your opinions on books so much that it would be really nice to know how you feel about different types of genres! :)
I feel like a need to read 'then she was gone' again as I read it when I first got back into reading so I feel like I'd appreciate it even more now. It was amazing though !
A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson! the whole trilogy is amazing and they all reference each other and keep the story line going - couldn't put them down!
I love that trilogy! I bought the entire series and COULD NOT put them down. I've reread them several times, and I can still say that that -insert character's name here-'s death was the saddest. I'll put the name of the character below so people aren't given spoilers. Barney the Golden Retriever
I absolutely could not get into this book. I tried so many times, and I can’t get past chapter 2 or three. Everyone who talks about it says it’s so good.
Ahhh I love that you’re in your thriller era!!! Riley Sager is one of my favorite thriller authors so it’s so exciting to see you reading his back list! I’m excited for you to read Home Before Dark whenever you get to it! That is in my top 3 faves form him! 😌
I was no joke just binge watching ur vids and then a notification came up of another vid and I was like “OMG YES!” EDIT: Aye 200 likes in 1 day!! Ty 🫶🏻✨
BOOK REC!! Haley you should read The Girl on the Train! It is an amazing thriller and one of my favourite books I've read recently. In England you can get it at a charity shop for a couple pounds so it should be cheap online. I adore thrillers myself but I don't like basic/repetitive storylines. This kept me guessing till last minute and - as someone who will sometimes be unmotivated to pick up my book - I couldn't put this one down. I finished this on a train journey and now I can't wait to read some of her other books - I'm especially excited to read A Slow Fire Burning by Paula Hawkins!
I love Riley Sager’s writing style because he never describes characters so you can easily put yourself in the characters place. Just found your channel and I’m loving your videos.
Omg I love seeing your reactions to these books! There’s nothing like a book that can make you feel shock like a movie. I definitely want to read the House across the lake now 😅
I’ve just been binging Haley’s videos. Your voice and your way of speaking and just everything about you is so calming. Also getting tons of great book recs from you, thank you!!
love your thriller era because it’s one of my fav genres and i have SO MUCH recs now!! im currently reading 172 hours on the moon (YA thriller) and it’s already really good
I have no words to explain how happy I am that youre venturing more onto the thriller genre. I'm ao curious how you would interpret them. I hope to see more!!
7 books in 7 days! You have got mad skills. I am so excited to read The House Across The Lake, the cover is what got me intrigued and this is the first five star ⭐ review I have heard. Watching your videos always makes me want to make a mad dash to the bookstore! Thanks for posting (and such a great video 😊) !
You have to read Five Survive by Holly Jackson! I just finished and I couldn’t put it down even as a usually nonreader. Soooo many plot twists super intense thriller, layout of the book was so immersive, writing was great, characters feel like my friends now
I'm obsessed with your reading vlogs/challenges. It makes me super motivated to read more and more everyday. Can you share your goodreads profile so we can see what have you read so far and what book are you reading while there isn't new video? Love u
Yes! Karin Slauther is really good! But yes, dark and creepy, definitely should check for trigger warnings before you start reading. I love her writing tho
The turn of the key by ruth ware!! She’s a really popular thriller writer too. Also they never learn by layne fargo. All about revenge & female rage. & the chain by adrian mckinty is one of the most interesting plots ive ever read!
You should definitely read both The Silent Patient and The Maidens by Alex Michaelides! Also, I would love if you briefly mentioned how “spicy” books are in your review! I try not to read too many spicy books, and I have found that quite a few thrillers are, so if you could mention that a bit, it would be so helpful!! I can’t wait to read some of your recommendations!
Would you consider putting all of these books in like a blog post or share an excel sheet or something? Your book recommendations are always books I love!
i used to LOVE mystery books and thrillers and then when i started reading romance i stopped reading thrillers, but you inspired me to start again so i bought the silent patient and i’m so exited to read it!
The mermaids singing by Val McDermid is definitely one of my favourite thriller/investigation books. Unexpected plot twist + relationships between charachters arent cliché.
I don´t think this is a thriller but it was a nail biting experience for and the books was a good girl´s guide to murder by Holly Jackson. This book to me had a lot of intense scenes but it was so good.
if you liked the house across the lake i’d recommend the last thing he told me, it’s not so much thriller but it’s slightly similar and it’s really nicely written
Haley!! You MUST read April Henry’s writing! She is one of my absolute favorite writers of mystery/thriller and I’ve read almost all of her books because they are so all good! The plot twists are amazing and her writing style is phenomenal 💕 Also I love this video, definitely want to read The House Across the Lake now
As a B&N bookseller who runs the Mystery/Thriller section, I recognized all of those! XD I will say, though, the Auntie books, while classified in our system as Mystery, is shelved in the Fiction section at the store I work at. For a recommendation, Hostage by Clare Mackintosh was amazing! I loved that book and highly recommend giving it a try.
Love your videos! For a super fun romance please read one Italian summer!! I think you would love it! It had the best descriptions of Italy and it was super fast paced
Literally saw this vid and immideantly drove to the nearest book store and got Final Girls, The House Across the Lake, and Lock Every Door. Thx for the recs!! ❤❤
The Push by Ashley Audrain, Mother May I by Joshilyn Jackson, Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian and Playing Nice by J.P. Delaney are all really good thrillers that are super underrated.
I love Natasha Preston! I can finish her books so fast because of how easily she catches her audience. The ones that shocked me the most were The Lost and The Cellar!❤
Riley Sager is the KING! I binged all his books too! My favorite is Lock Every Door. You might also like Ruth Ware - The Woman In Cabin 10 is super good.
I usually don’t like reading many books but I love thrillers, I feel like there’s just something about them that excites me. I’ve recently started the book 1222 by Anne Holt. I haven’t read that much of it yet so I can’t say for sure that it’s amazing but I would love to see you read it and hear your opinion on it. Hope you see this comment maybe read the book.💖
