The plot of these books are like a fever dream to what i remember from the first FNAF games when i was still interested in the lore. I started the audio book of the first one in October but dnfed it after the first chapters, because i found i really didn’t care. I know now say that i am glad that i did that. Thank you for your sacrifice ❤

Former fnaf fan here. The books are honestly so fucking wierd these days, they were part of the reason I quit the fandom. The novel trilogy isn't completely awful, but the short stories..... Well, best not talk about those.

I've read those 3 books. They were meh, but I was in a reading slump and needed them to pad my book count. Kinda reminded me of the books I read as a teen - Fear Street, Lois Duncan stuff, etc... but definitely not as good. 🍕🍕

Came to the comments specifically to see if anyone had mentioned yet that in real life Hurricane is inexplicably pronounced HER-ick-kin (and I’m sorry if you bring this up later in the video it’s just a stupid Utah fact that I love/hate)

Yeah, the books are pretty messy. They're mostly used to give vague lore about the games. Like, honestly, the game lore is harder to piece together but it is at least a bit less contrived than this. Charlie in the games is a lot less...YA, but that's to be expected. Henry isn't dead, and William is more motivated by the idea of using possession to bring his deceased kids back to life rather than just being "a crazy person". At least, as far as we can tell.

I remember the first game, but never kept up with the series so once I saw there was a movie I was down! I enjoyed the movie and was totally unaware of the lore behind everything. Once my TikTok fyp started blowing up with the theories, lore and what not I decide to pick up the graphic novel! While the graphic novel was meh, I'm intrigued to see where the rest of the movie series goes!

Yes, it was originally a set of indie games, the books came afterwards as a kind of alternate universe/expansion, and finally the movie was primarily based off of the games.
