Philly native; we have the cheesesteaks of course, but I rarely see people out of Philly know how good the chicken Cheesesteak really is. There is great food in the reading terminal (too much to choose from). When you visit please don’t go to Geno’s or Pat’s for the big name. Delessandro’s, Max’s & Jim’s (when they reopen) wont disappoint for the steaks but to be honest nothing beats a random hole in the wall with a greasy bag.

Gotta visit Philly in the near future man. A LOT of American history here. Birthplace of the country, Independence hall, the liberty bell, betsy ross’s house. And of course, cheesesteaks as authentic and delicious as they come. Oh and Go Birds 🦅
From south Philly, honestly suprised you got a hold of a decent cheesesteak in Korea. That roll is also crazy similar to our Amarosos. Glad you enjoyed it brother
I do a Philly style cheesesteak sandwich on a garlic bread roll with thinly sliced roast beef, fried onions, peppers, and mushrooms with melted cheddar. I’m from Long Island NY and Philly is a train ride away yet I’ve never been there. Don’t feel bad. You’ll get there when you get there.

i had those back to back when i went last month. it was pretty good and i really liked their fries. I found them by accident looking for a restaurant that already closed down. Best thing that happened. It's now my go to if I don't know what I want or don't have someone to eat dinner with lol.

I make these at hom eonce a month using shabu shabu then sliced beef from te local asian market and jimmy johns day bread. Of course a real one from Philly is fire I think I make a pretty good copy cat. You def right about it being the best hang over food.
As a person from Philly, provolon cheesesteak is usually eaten with ketchup and mayonnaise. That's how I ate them since I wa young. And yes it is delicious. Pats and Genos are not that good in my opinion. But most pizza hole in the wall restaurants do make great cheesesteak here. Even in the suburb. One good thing about living here.
If you ever find yourself in the philly area you gotta try Tomato pie, basically sicilian pizza with a doughy crust, thick tomato sauce, and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese
Yo Ben try to find some authentic Carnitas (deep fried pulled pork) de Mexico, Michoacan in specific. Chop up a spicy red salsa and beans and rice on the side.
