I especially like the pit-viper heat-sensors on it's nose. Makes me think of the Skullcrawlers from Skull island, with how they look like they have a skull-face and the eyes are actually a bit further back.

I honestly just wish instead of Indominus rex, we just got a T rex with rabies. Sometimes we just want a T rex to be cool enough to be a movies main dino. I do like the art though.
Yeah no, indominus rex is not a "failed" or "forgettable" design that you making the indominus rex design to be. If that was the case no one would be liking but as I can see there is more people that love her and her design than people who made that stupid "buildabettertheropod" hashtag :/ I am sorry but that redesign ain't doing nothing and ain't fixing anything about her (mainly because her design is perfectly fine) and if anything it just makes her look off and overexaggerated. Andnthat is why her design works very well for the indominus, she is suppose to look like a normal animal. Sure I get ultimasurus is a popular hybrid but let's be honest, it would just look way too out of place and would just look off in general. Unlike the indominus rex where were the parts of her blend it so well that it makes her look natural and actually a animal, than whatever the frankenstein monster that redesign was or ultimasurus It overall the design just works for the overall all story of the film where she wad designed to look like a animal and a actual appealing attraction. Like look at the scorpios rex, the second that thing looked like a deformed monstrosity the owner of the park immediately said no to it. And of course how the people treat it as if it was simply a mere animal and nothing to worry about, thinking they can just capture it, but once you see what she is capable off in Owen's own words, she is no dinosaur. I feel like that is how much she works as a hybrid in both design and concept, she isn't most over the top design where she looks natural like a actual animal but you can see bits that you can see in the design like the giga like head, raptor quills, therizno claws, etc and how she works in the story just makes the design work and enjoyable. Plus seeing her in action just makes her really enjoyable as a hybrid design Also I am sorry but most of the hybrids in the jw alive game are not better looking whatsoever Really I can get this issue with indoraptor because I feel like they could have done so much better with it's design and how it could have worked. Unlike indominus and scorpios rex where their designs generally work as hybrids and how they work in the stories they are in helps the designs out
Nice video. Am new to the channel and admire your presentation. Great input from experience. I'm passionate about paleontology and have admired the various fan reconstructions too. This one turned out terrific, loved the contrast in color palette between the Indominus and her dino neighbors. Thinner claws and quills also tap into my personal fear of proximity with knives. The mere presence of a creature able to slay me in an instant is terrifying. I see you're also a huge fan of Kenner's 90's Jurassic line ^-^ I have a collection as well, so lovely how the toys were like replicas for kids to take on the role of director for their own Jurassic adventures, with impressive animatronics and set pieces. Imagination from real world knowledge goes a long way. Congratulations on your work in expressing yourself, it sure inspires me
Thank you very much! Yeah, I've been wanting to start creating videos for a while now and I'm really glad I can finally do it (even though it is hard). Adding in I. rex's new colors was definitely fun! I'm all about visuals (visual learner). That's cool that you love paleontology, it is certainly a fun profession; I remember my brother and I had these kits where you could use tools to uncover a dinosaur skull (he had triceratops and I had t. rex). And yeah, I can certainly understand being afraid of being around a bunch of knives; the extended quills on I. rex were actually somewhat inspire by the venomous spines of the lionfish ;) Yes, I definitely enjoy the Kenner 90s line XD I also have the giant RV-thing from The Lost World as well as a bunch from the Chaos Theory line (I also really like that one). Yeah, the toys back in the day are so much better than now; now the anatomy of the dinos is too cartoony/exaggerated. Thank you once again; it makes me happy knowing I can create freely and inspire others!

Ahh yes, the toys designs are fair game, too. I've always really liked the Chaos Theory line as a kid, though there are some that I know I could make improvements to. 🤔 And oh! I love Alien and the Xenomorphs; I'm actually planning to do episodes on Newborn (from Resurrection) and the Engineers (Prometheus). 👍

That's ok; it might be because it's a smiling thing set against a stark black background? Later I'll try reversing the colors (black or white design with colored gradient background instead) and see if that helps.
