NTA, just needs to read the comments more. i understand that viewer retention and etc is important but every time i see the weird captioning with the subway surfers bg i immediately click off. i have a hard time understanding audio when there aren't captions to go along with it, and the fast-paced text cuts with the moving background just don't do it for me- especially the bold white text with light orange(?) border.

About the person with the sensory issues regarding reheated fast food: it is absolutely NOT stupid. Even though the OP will probably never see this, I have a lot of similar issues regarding food, both reheated and cold, and it is very frustrating, but nothing to be ashamed of. As of the past year or so, reheated McNuggets are practically impossible for me to eat, and cold ones are even worse. Sometimes textures change when reheated or cooled, so not wanting cold fast food burgers when someone brings them for you despite KNOWING you don't like them is a totally reasonable stance. Also I agree with everyone else that having the post on-screen like usual instead of the Subway Surfers is much better.
As a single dad that works from home and takes care of his children, I can confirm. People always give me dirty looks like, why am I there, where are their mother, I didn't realize you were here with kids, etc (the last one is prob more of a how I look over my gender) and it makes me very uncomfortable because they tend to be very antagonistic and act like something has to be wrong with them since they "don't have a mom" it's fucked up
To ask emkay, I recommend to get rid of the subway surfers! Go back to the basic, like on Emkay. We’re fine with the normal screen, we aren’t 5 year old kids.

1st story: english makes it sound very tame. leiche is a word that is only used referring to a dead human, therefore saying you're eating leichenteile is pretty weird. i personally agree that we shouldn't pretend like meat isn't part of a dead body and i also think the father in the story got way too upset over this but the leichenteile word in context with animals is usually only used by these "hardcore" vegans who would like to turn everyone around them vegan as well, so i think that was why he reacted stronger than you would if you said the english translation. i also believe op mistranslated it on purpose because as i mentioned, "leiche" is a word used almost only for human bodies. it's different if you specify for example "hundeleiche" (dog corpse) but on its own it's used for humans. if you say "es wurde eine leiche gefunden" (a corpse was found) nobody will associate it with an animal though again, the guy overreacted and there's no need to be salty or toxic about someone else's food preferences, that's just immature

As someone with Hashimotos that story makes me so angry. Hashimotos can be very hard, it inhibits my life because I can’t overexert myself without getting sick for days. This causes me to have to have very specific, set work hours that I have to fight for ALL THE TIME (I work in fast food and have to run around a lot in poor air conditioning, heat is also a problem for me. They constantly try to over schedule me). Hashimotos can affect different people differently so making any assumptions about what’s real for her is just awful
I have it too, im constantly sick even though all my blood work comes back almost normal. I cant overdo ot without being wiped out for days. So i dont doubt the sister feels as bad as she said she does

I have Hashimoto's, also pobably had it all my life or for a long time before being diagnosed. The symptoms showed up so slowly that I didn't notice until I was diagnosed and asked about them specifically. Also, Hashimoto's can be linked to other autoimmune illnesses ( I have celiac's too) that have a whole bunch of other symptoms. Like, I was taking the right dose of the thyroid medication, still having lots of problems and those ended up being from celiac's. So yeah, that dude is definitely the AH, talking without knowing about the illness. And also because it's not his place to say that in front of his whole family. If you're so bothered by your sister complaining about her body attacking itself, then get out of that situation, it's that simple.

On the story about OP wanting to sleep in separate beds/bedrooms: My last boyfriend didn't snore at the start of our relationship, I was having night terrors (first relationship after an abusive one), we spent an hour on reddit/youtube/Twitter before bed to caught up on news in our social circles together, show each other memes/gifs/videos we thought the other would, then we would usually having sex 1-3 times every night. After we cleaned up & turned the lights off, we would cuddle (my head on his chest watching the bedroom door for the 3 cats to join us), my two youngest cats (who tend to leave the bedroom during sex, or just go into the closet) would wander in to sleep on my side of the bed, my oldest cat (who will often watch us have sex from the bathroom or bedroom doorway...we got used to it & it made it easier to find her for food/insulin times around 10pm) would yowl as she drug a stuffed toy from her toy box in the livingroom, down the hall, between her front legs, dropping just inside the bedroom doorway with a final meow, then go lay on her pillow/bed set up on "HER BF's" nightstand, he would put his arm out to pet her & allow her to groom his freshly washed hands/hairy arm with her sandpaper tongue (he only winced little, lol). This was how we slept when I first moved in, for all of maybe 6 months. Then my youngest cat got a cancer diagnosis, an estimate of 2 yrs left of life & my depression spiralled. Started having really bad suicidal ideation along with agoraphobia, but my ex refused to take me to therapy (medicare didn't cover telehealth & few places offered it at that time) because his ego was bruised that life with him wasn't enough to keep me from suicidal thoughts. My ex started drinking, from the time he came home until he stumbled into bed, then he would snore. Loudly. I was undiagnosed AuDHD at that time & human snoring fills me with murderous rage. We had just finished turning one of the bedrooms into my office & moved my love seat recliner from my parents home into there. At first it was just insomnia, so I would get up to go play some video games on my pc, but he would be woken up (probably due to his own snores he claimed weren't a problem) & came to me saying he can't sleep in the bed all alone, so I'd go back to bed, take my 2nd or 3rd Benadryl of the night & try to sleep (while hoping I wouldn't wake up in the morning to a life where my little baby girl was going to die soon). Eventually, we compromised over the sleeping arrangements, where he wouldn't get AS drunk that he fell asleep as soon as he laid down, which made plenty of time for fights/criticisms that triggered a mishmash of PTSD dissociation/autistic shutdown/panic attacks. However, on the good nights we would cuddle & then once he started snoring, I would put a body pillow on my side of the bed for him to hug if he wakes up & I would go to my office to be on the computer or sleep on my couch. My ex couldn't handle lights when he slept (he also needed a fan, which irritated my ears/sinuses), so we hung a long darkening curtain in the hallway (put a night light in hallway so I didn't have to turn on lights, but also avoided stepping on cats, especially my middle/boy cat who is blue/dark fur colored) & in the doorway to my office. We did curtains because my ex didn't want to have permanent cat doors in his house. Obviously, that was a good decision since we broke up. That last sleeping arrangement, the good nights, was probably the best I slept *at night* the whole duration of our relationship. Since I was on disability & migraines had me bedridden a lot of the time, I did make up a lot of missed sleep in the bed during the day when he was at work, so it wasn't a typical arrangement & as the relationship ended about 2 months into it, I can't say it was a successful arrangement either.
Is it me or does the...Subway Surfers footage...loop? I see why people don't like it. Its overwhelming enough for me to think it loops And right when I got used to the faster reading compared to most reddit channels
If you're gunna have the game play can you at least leave the post format the way it was? Narrators tend to skip parts and I like to be able to pause and grab that context or the conclusion or whatever - and like to read along. This format is too quick and distracting and makes me want this as background noise - which makes the gameplay even more useless.
Late, but as someone with Hashimotos, it makes you feel like absolute trash constantly. And yes. You do get sick easier. Autoimmune disorders mess your body up.

Meat IS body parts, if you can't deal with it don't eat meat. Now I LOVE meat but I don't pretend its not animal parts. I have a friend who eats beef but is horrified I eat venison. That mystifies me.

Yo. The auto immune disorder one got me. I suffered from late stage Lyme disease. I’ve had it since I was roughly about seven years old, and I’m now 35. I was only diagnosed maybe seven years ago at most. What are the things that was not mentioned is the fact that, on top of how debilitating autoimmune illnesses, there’s also the problem of it being a so-called invisible illness. Meaning that you look young and healthy, therefore, you must be fine. Absolutely not true. The day to day issues with the symptoms and flare ups are bad enough on their own. What makes it even worse is when you do not have support from your friends, family or local community because, after all, you’re young and you “look healthy enough”. When they can’t possibly imagine the extraordinary amount of excruciating pain and suffering that you are going through on a near daily basis. To be someone’s fucking sibling, or family, in anyway, and to try to invalidate their illness, is one thing and deplorable enough. To go that much farther and have the absolute fucking gall to play doctor, and make some profoundly clinically ignorant claim about it being from breast implants, speaks everything that I need to do about the contents, (or rather, profound lack thereof) of character from the sibling. I hope she beat their ass. I really really do. It would be profoundly well deserved. And in any case, because my auto immune disease is such hell, and I would not wish upon my worst enemy, that is the only reason that I do not wish karmic reimbursement upon them. But the mindset is disgusting, as well as whatever the emotional or mental triggers are to not only pull this shit at all, but do so in front of the entire family in an effort to shame them. Fucking deplorable. Beyond asshole, in my opinion.
I'm not vegan but the dad was purposely being an @ss about their food. I don't care if there are substitutes for meats, milk and eggs. Who cares. There's some people who allergic to red meats and substitute bacon is good for them. Just like substitute eggs and milk are good for people who are allergic or lactose intolerant. Stop worrying about the fact that not everyone eats the same thing and there are options for others. Blaming the sisters health problems on her breast implants? Smdh.
It's very rare for me to actually comment on videos due to just enjoying them, subbing to the channel, enjoying future and past uploads, and leaving it at that. But PLEASE, the Subway Surfers editing has very much turned me (and possibly others now or in the future) off to watching these videos. I enjoy reading along to the stories and the new background content is very distracting/annoying! These last few videos I've only come back to check to see if it's back to the usual style, and when I see the SS editing, I just can't watch that video. Judging by other comments, a percentage feel similarly. We're begging you, PLEASE go back to the usual style, PLEASE don't turn Emkay Asks into another generic Reddit channel that falls in similarly with other channels that use Subway Surfers and Text to Speech. This one is one of the few Reddit channels I very much enjoy.

hey as a non english native speaker can you please go back to the original style? The fast caption plus the SS gameplay in the background makes it extremely hard to keep up with the video and hurts my eyes due to the sensory overload

Please get red of the subway surfers and return back to the original format. Many of us are begging and really don't like it, as we watched this channel for it just being simple with none of the Minecraft parkour or subway surfers in the background and actual humans reading it.
Putting text over the short time yall pop up the screenshot makes it REALLY hard to follow. I get distracted easily n shit or i listen at workm instead of replaying i usually pause n reread in 5 seconds. Now i have to skip back and TRY to find the ss, and theres text over it anyway. Please can it at least be a better game than Subway surfer?
If you have an auto immune disorder putting a foreign object in your body is a bad idea as the body tends to want to reject such things and you're already immune compromised' the sickness did start only after the implant then it is most likely the trigger and she should see her doctor about it' but things like this should be said in private.
about the editing styles. i do not like the subway surfer stuff, and they should keep some of the post on screen. i like when theres either only the post or by using stock videos to portray a point. but keep the post on screen for us who like to read along and no more subway surfers
