My man got those synthol style biceps. I'm less impressed about the Half-Like inspiration and more distracted by your sleeve seams struggling to maintain threading hahaha. Also great update by the way.
I do love that you learnt how to properly use State Machines, and then put everything into a State Machine. That's the kind of thing I would do. I don't know if it's right, but it was probably fun
This feels like playing modded GMod with a sprinkle of Ready or Not and many other realistic shooters combined into one game... And I absolutely love it. 👍
This looks really awesome. an insane amount of progress. Very cool. Consistently uploading, what's that XD? My 3month break is now accidentally 2 years. I should get on that...
as someone who recently started getting into game dev and learning coding, the fact you completely remade your state machine to even have sub state machines actually boggles my fucking mind. not only are you making all the art, but doing in fucking SANE coding. keep it fucking up man, your work is incredibly inspiring for new coming game devs!
I love the style. You've found a great balance between retro look, and looking good. I'm definitely gonna take notes from it. I hope it runs well on my pile of scrap If i may recommend something, make it possible to change all that yellow to something else? like treating it like an accent that you can change everywhere with only one wheel or something. I like the style of the game, but personally, yellow is bottom tier color. There's some nice shades out there, but it's usually low to mid at best.
Awesome. Quite the humorous presentation I must say and what you are showing on screen lends you a lot of credibility. I can vicariously satisfy my results-driven attitude through this video. Time to get back to my own game!
Ok i have a good idea you should try to add where if the ai doesn't see you or no you are around are never saw you they will talk to each other and not be on high alert making stealth funner
"Alright this video looks interesting enough.. Nvm I might click o-" *Half life mentioned* "Ok now I'm invested" *I further feed my obsession until it one day absolves me and I go in a 8 year coma, only waking up on the day half life 3 releases.*
for sure! the state machine code that I use is mine, written from scratch (maybe I'll post it on patreon), but a lot of it tries to copy how this library works: github.com/Inspiaaa/UnityHFSM and the pathfinding library is just the most popular unity asset (the only and most essential asset that I currently use): arongranberg.com/astar/
This looks amazing and props to you for rewriting a lot of things! Just don't get sidetracked endlessly rewriting code, I see that mistake time and time again - just remember, the hardest part ot finish a game is not making the systems and everything to work together, it's what comes after that, the making actual content and levels. It take a stupid amount of time I have found. Cheers and good luck! :)
thanks! I couldn't agree more, I'm sooo ready to move on from rewriting stuff, I've got some cool stuff planned for the next few videos (that's not rewriting stuff) so hopefully I don't fall down another rewrite rabbit hole
Damnnn how have i not heard of this game before it looks really promising, keep it up. And also im wondering how did you make the weapon bobbing and sway? Is it animation driven or procedural?
yooooo whatsup, yeah its procedural, a lot of the view model anims are procedural, the only anims I have for guns is equipping, attacking and reloading, everything else is procedural (i.e sprinting, ADS, sway, bob, crouching), big fan of your vids btw :]
to be honest I maybe should've waited until I fully finished it to show it off, but it's gonna be able to rob enemies of their weapons and various other funny things, it'll just kinda mess with the enemies and stuff
Is ur game inspired by gmod addons? It reminds me of when I used to spawn enemies with the "beatrun" mod and do a bunch of parkour with gun mods shooting them and stuff in flashy ways
