Can we talk about how Annie's done a cracking job interviewing him here Like actually having an interesting insightful conversation about things Keep up the good work madam
Conor McKee well what would you prefer? Her turn around and be like "so tell us why you're such a fuck up" She's clearly a genuine fan of the band with a genuine interest in his writing and that shows in the interview in a good way, not a bad way This is an interview for fans of the band and it's pulled off brilliantly in my opinion
Dude was 19 when he wrote that masterpiece that Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. It's unbelievable because it sounds great and is a lyrically brilliant album.
This man has my deepest respect. As someone with Aspergers and ADHD, I relate a lot to Alex. Now I’m not sure if he actually has either of those diagnoses, but I feel a commonality at some level. The awkwardness, long pauses, and masked humbleness. Tranquility base has been my mental escape from harsher days for some years now. Wish I could thank him.
That still does not help because it is widely accepted that there is no form of autism or diagnosis that has been roped into autism that needs less support than the others.
Wow. this was the most earnest alex turner interview ive seen in so long. Its less light hearted than other ones where alex would be flirting with the interviewer and they would be asking him empty questions that he already answered in the past. He seems so modest right now and genuinely excited and scared for this new tour. I'm so happy for him he really looks like he's grown 💖
@@electraNOIR nah he really did change it up a lot back when AM came out...and then at some point in an interview i think liam gallagher (not exactly sure, could've been noel) just took the piss out of him,his image and accent...and somehow after that interview, the accent came back
Before I used to see his performances and videos and thought that he's quite arrogant, I wasn't expecting a shy and stuttering man who avoids to make eye contact. :O
Its hard to make eye contact when the person interviewing you is constantly looking up at the ceiling trying to "craft" her question just right. Watch her at the beginning. At first i honestly thought she was blind. Her stupid eyes darting all over whole looking up at the ceiling i thought she was goung to come up with a super interesting question......NOPE. But i do agree with your perception of Alex as a person though not exactly what i expected either.
*sigh* He definitely seems more alert and a lot less rambling/hesitating/dodging/loss for words. Was it drugs, tired from the road, being contrary? I don't know. At times it seems one of these or maybe all of these. This is a great interview with a great interviewer who asked very good questions. I am honestly more interested in seeing more videos of them playing the new songs and watching the new interviews than the listening new "concept" album.
pianodore I just wanted to know what was going on with him back them, why no one asks? she asked about him on the stage and he was bat shit crazy but his answer didn't give it nothing 😩
Célio P I agree, I think fans want to know his attitude changes, his state of mind etc but at the end its his personal life and he might not want to share it maybe, and if he is fine and happy, than we just should be happy for him
He is 32 years old for fucks shake. Of course he is more serious and confident when he talks. I have seen changes in myself and the way I talk from 20 to 24 years old. He is past 30 so of course he seems more mature and serious and down to earth and confident when talking. He's been in the spotlight since he was a kid. He started out as a shy teenager, then as he grew up he made up that cocky and confident persona he had with the hair and the lazy talking that made all the girls go crazy. And now he is all grown up and obviously he is more serious and doesn't need to put on the swager he had in his 20s. He is himself the most I think.
Mufti Hossain for me the first try was kinda rough, but after hearing with the lyrics, the album has grown to me in a way i couldn't presume from the first listen. A really intriguing and inspired art pop/space rock/lo-fi album. It played with everyone's expectations in a very clever way. Props to them. "Anticipation has a habit to set you up for disappointment"
In 2013-14 he was like "no one's actually interested in what i feel and what I say so i don't give a fuck". but he has truly changed. He is very different now. very honest and free. Not only while talking but while performing as well.
nah it only makes sense. People who like the genres and types of music of wpsiatwin and humbug wouldnt like the types of music and genre of tranquility base. Why would they? Theyre completely different its like night and day.
This interview is just something else... He seems so sincere with his answers- No surprise because the interviewer asked some pretty interesting questions.
I have been saying for YEARS that TLSP should do the next James Bond theme song. “In My Room” would have been a fantastic James Bond track. PLEASE consider that soundtrack idea!
Very interesting hearing why and what he is doing, if someone doesn't feel like the music they are making is right, then why make it? They don't owe us anything, for being fans we are fans, quite literally people who respect and like the music, don't owe us shit for not making the AM alike songs again, credit Alex!
Arctic Monkeys has been my favourite band for two years and Alex is one of my idols, yet I have never watched a single interview with him. It was just too difficult for me to watch because Alex always seems to be high in interviews. This is my first time actually watching him interviewed! For such a wonderful lyricist, he sure does seem to be lost for words a lot of the time. It's hard to understand where his train of thought goes most of the time; I don't know if he still takes drugs, or if it's just the way he is. Either way, he seems to be doing better in this interview.
I’m Italian but I understand everything he says lol I’m kind of surprised He’s got a wonderful Yorkshire accent anyways I’m glad the good old Alex is baack
