If your intake temps are rising, you don't have a cold air intake. Cold air intakes pull from "outside" the engine bay where the engine bay heat can't get to it. Just thought I'd point that out 😉

Obviously, I don't how you wrapped your headers as I was not there. It looks just like the same wrap I used. I wrapped mine w/fiberglass almost 4 years ago and it has held up very well. Even through plug changes, starter changes, unbolting and re-bolting the headers. And the temp only went up a few degrees (less than 5 degrees) while the engine compartment is much much cooler now. I mean it's like a night and day difference. I think your engine compartment should've cooled down a lot too. Not sure why u had trouble with that. I have heard that it is possible over wrap the headers causing internal engine heat complications. That's why I chose the fiberglass over the ceramic wrap. But your engine compartment heating up even a little is a mystery to me. Let alone going through the roof. But then again - I'm not that smart. LOL I'm glad you found something you like now.

I want to wrap my motorcycle exhaust. I’m expecting the ceramic wrap will last many years, over six or seven considering the pipe are out in the open and not enclosed in an engine compartment. Lots of motorcycles have this wrap and not too many people have negative things to say. In fact, they say it helps a lot. We will see.

Got to spray them with high temp paint. Then wrap em.

on a turbo it does change but a natural asp motor it helps the engine bay from heat but will run the same, ,rust can happen on both,

I would research Ceramic spray coatings. VHT & Cerakote seem to be the names that come up while doing searching online! Take care brother!

I live in the desert after March it basically makes driving a high horsepower car unbearable without proper heat management

Thanks, my headers were supposed to be coated but this could be the answer to lowering my under hood temps.

Jet hot will coat shorty headers for about $250.

Regular ol Alum foil. Don't even need ties half the time.

Whaaaaaat ? Aluminum foil, I’d think that would break down and fall off real quick. How does it work for you, and do you wrap your auto exhaust or motorcycle exhaust ?
@Ghosts_and_Cars
@Ghosts_and_Cars 4 месяца назад
@@ginoasci2876 yep, I prefer 2 or so layers of the regular name brand stuff. Works better on cars because you don’t have the wind blowing on it, but some fence wire or ties will hold it. It has a air gap between the foil and pipe so the pipes don’t get as hot and neither the foil.

I say if it's easy to change your headers, get it! But headers are a hard job 90% of the time. The most annoying job ever
