This was the day of the Total Solar Eclipse, and I had to go take some packages I sold on eBay to my shipping guy. I was in a rush as I wanted to get back because we were in the “Zone of Totality” here in Dunnville Ontario Canada. , and I didn’t want to miss out. So I decided to just hit one of my usual thrifting / sourcing spots on the way back ( instead of my usual 3 or four). Good thing I chose the Garbage Dump’s re-use bin for my one stop. Clearly someone dropped off a video game collection complete with consoles and controllers and a huge box of DVD box sets as well. For those who don’t follow the Channel, my towns dump has a big open sea crate that they call the re-use bin. People put stuff In it that is in good shape and is still useable, rather than toss it into the garbage. You can go in and take whatever is in the bin for free. It’s a win win, you can get cool stuff for free, and less stuff goes to the landfill. Best part is I made it back to see the total solar eclipse. It was even better than you could ever imagine. Free video games and a once in a lifetime celestial event. Pretty good day eh!
