Vids of my weekly Garage Sale, Thrift Store and Flea Market Finds. Focussing mainly on collectables, vinyl records, vintage goods, vintage advertising signs, comics, trading cards, vintage toys, antiques and Mid Century Modern items. I throw a vinyl video in occasionally for good measure.
While I agree with about thing only bro g worth what people are willing to pay. Discogs provides a list of sold for prices, and this particular record sells $150 plus on a regular basis, in VG condition. This one is a strong VG+
Seriously. The only thing I can think is they didn’t think that they are still legal currency and worth the face value. In the baggies I have found silver pesos, modern Euro coins and all kinds of interesting tokens.
Yes but the records are in really nice shape, and you can’t play the covers lol. Raises at 2.50 CND a record across the board. I will take them all day.
Hey I found 4 pairs with the box yesterday at a estate sale for $20 for all but not sure about what’s the worth or if they are worth something can you help me thanks.
Yeah the box helps. They did re-make these recently, but check your tags. If they are made In Korea, Japan or USA they are vintage, and worth some decent money. Your best bet is to search vintage Nike waffle shoe on eBay, and click the “solds” box and you can find your comparable color and model and see what they are actually selling for. Even if they are not vintage for $20 for all you scored big time. Well Done!
I worked for a major record label for 4 years and most store promo copies were drilled or cuts. All our play copies that were given to the stores were done that way. They also did it for deletes as well. I there are record that are actually marked promo, with different labels ect. , but we never saw them at store level. Those went to radio ect.
Thanks. Yeah it was a decent price. I actually wasn’t sure they would be willing to sell the whole lot for what I got it for considering the original $5-$20 asking prices. It pays to ask I guess.
“Gillan” is Ian Gillan, the lead singer of Deep Purple. Some of those $10 ones are definitely not worth it. I recently found the Good Bad and the Ugly soundtrack for $1 in good condition.
Yeah a lot these will end up in my $5. Bin at the store, but at the price I paid I don’t mind. I would never have paid the $10 and $20 they wanted. The irony of it was the ones I picked from the $5 section initially were the best records there lol
I get what you’re saying about availability of vinyl at garage sales. I pretty much quit those and exclusively go to ESTATE sales. The reason is, as time goes on, garage sales are run by younger people and they usually do not have records unless they’re selling them for their parents. For the records I look for (classic rock), I am now finding them at the estate sales.
Here in Canada we don’t get a lot of estate sales. I see them all the time in videos from the USA, but I don’t see as many here in Ontario. The thing that I am finding now with garage sales is that in the past, when parents were having a garage sale their kids didn’t want any of the “old” stuff. Now they claim the records and toys and collectables before the parents have the sale.
The one camera that faces me, has a haze for some reason or other. I clean the lense before I shoot but it still is hazy. The only thing I can think is the protective glass screen cover is not lined up right and causes the lense to lose focus and look hazy.
I normally do not trust still-sealed albums UNLESS there is a hype sticker or at least an original store price sticker from a well-known record store or department store. This is for the fact that there are numerous “re-seal” copies out there and you really don’t know what lies beneath, inside of the cover!
I get that. Bit this comes with a decent provenance, several have hype stickers, and most are the original loose baggie style shrink, or have the small factory breather holes (reseals don’t have those )
I was driving to work last year and came upon an older gentleman placing stuff on the curb for free. He had just placed an old record crate filled with 60s-70s classic rock albums. As I stopped to get them he said he had 2 more in his garage if I wanted them. plus a box of 45s. in total there are 140 albums and 60 45s. Everything from AC/DC to ZZ Top. all in mint condition with all the inserts! He said he was retiring and leaving Ohio for sunny Florida and didnt want to take a bunch of "junk" with him.
Wow that’s awesome. The best free I even had was in the 1990’s I was cycling in the wealthy area in the city I lived in and at the end of a very long drive way was a pair of speakers and a rega planar 2 turntable. To make a long story short the guy ended up giving me the turntable and about 400-500 records. It was really rare garage rock, post punk, avant garde, krautrock. I was so excited.
In the 90’s I used to ask at garage sales if they had any records and people were like “if you want to drag em out of the crawlspace, you can just have them”. Those days are long gone now
That’s a killer deal. Back in the 90’s I would ask at garage sales “do you have any records”, and people would literally give me crates for free. “Save me a trip to the dump” was a common response. Ahhh the good old days
Liverpool Scene were from Liverpool big style. They were all poets and very well known in uK generally and not just on merseydide.Think you are thinking of Liverpool 5 who were on RCA and were NOT from Liverpool or I think we're from USA.
I believe you are correct I was probably thinking of Liverpool 5. Fun fact I am originally from Widnes just down the Mersey from Liverpool. My Dad and Grandfather (and several other generations lost to time) used to work/sail out of the Liverpool Docks
Hi. I am not sure yet what will be for sale and what I am keeping. I do have a retail store that I sell records out of. I don’t ship records so it’s in store sales only. I post a weekly flip video of the new stuff into the store on the store instagram Instagram and Facebook feeds. Here are the links to those. facebook.com/groups/7046785902/ instagram.com/timecapsuledunnville/
