I Returned My Burberry Coat | An Honest Review 

Totally agree with you! Burberry makes very well made trench coats! I own a black Chelsea and a honey Sandringham, both part of their "heritage" (aka traditional or classic) collection. I really recommend the heritage collection to you as they are belted, thus it would accentuate your thin waist. And because of their classic design, they are less likely to look outdated or strange in 10 years, compared with the seasonal styles they release (such as the one you're returning). I also get a lot of joy from wearing them so they are extremely useful and practical (and obviously stylish) during fall/winter/spring. I wore my honey colored one to disney world in Florida and didn't get any stains or whatnot (but I'm a clean person without kids). I would say that I actually prefer the honey color because it goes with everything, whereas the black is a very deep black that works better with dark colors.

I have had my trench for about 12 years and I love it and had used it every year. It doesn't work when it is really cold outside though, even if I have the warmer insert that I can put in. I thought the trench you bought was beautiful and could not understand how you could return it, it seemed like a bargain. Don't be scared of the color, the gabardine keeps dirt away and if you dry clean it once in a while it will look good. I think it was cheap that they did not have real pockets, my has pocket you can reach both from outside and inside of the trench.

I totally understand why you returned it, I‘m so glad I found a black one, which is way more carefree (maybe you will stumble across a black or a navy one for a great deal).. my beige nylon one is not so much to worry about like the canvas is (my friend already got some stains on her beige one and isn’t able to get rid of them)

If I were you, I would’ve kept that coat and bought it an inexpensive scarf that looks beautiful against your skin and I would not be worried about getting it dirty. I mean, don’t you have a dry cleaner where you live that you can drop it off once or twice a year? then you could wear that beautiful cashmere Burberry scarf with literally anything. That Burberry scarf is going to be much too much of a scarf, size, wise, thickness, wise for most any trenchcoat it would definitely be better for a winter coat. Because since it’s cashmere and thick and heavy, it’s really not gonna be great for the rain. Kind regards❤

I concur, that odd leather pocket is going to date it, also I have washed my Burberry and it came out lovely, I gave it a good Scotch Guard spray and it was like new. You can't do that with leather ( I didnt wash the zip lining BTW). Go classic, pre loved.

Hi Lauren, i understand you totally.. I do have a Burberry jacket in black . I bought the black one for the exact same reason, I went in to buy their popular beige colour then panicked about colour transfer and stains and what not so my husband convinced me to buy a black one.

Smart choice 💕 No way would I keep such an expensive, lighter-colour coat with kids. Believe dry cleaning removes the waterproofing

Get a vintage Burberrys raincoat mac much better quality and you can get mint condition ones if you hunt around for a loads cheaper than new ones!

I am actually on your video because I am heading to pick mine up today, and it is actually navy, for the same reason as you mentioned. I find that if you impregnate a coat or a suede jacket it doesn’t get as dirty, it can be done professionally or just using one of those silicon sprays, but regardless beige tends to get dirty more easily.

The beige color was not doing any favours, darker suits you much better

Why are you guys overpaying… this is not 2000k. Not even close. Exactly my love, this is how you buy these items, they find you. The sticker price is the „inspirational“ price, but realistically these are made in Romania and there just are not that many people in the world that would spend an entire salary or multiple salaries for a coat. Nordstrom all the way.

I used to like them until they started doing what they do to the landscape in Africa and the Canary Islands. 👎
