In the OP movie released in 2002 One Piece: Chopper's Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals There is a character that manages to hypnotize Zoan users due to their wild nature. Guess the only exception that happened to be also hypnotized in that movie? Yes, Luffy which we now know is a Zoan user.
While this is a cool funfact, I can guarantee this wasn‘t a planned foreshadowing. There is no way such an important foreshadowing would be put into a honestly pretty random film Oda didn‘t even participate in a lot. It‘s pretty obviously just a joke that happened to become the truth by coincidence, as it isn‘t even that rare of a moment that things or strategies work on Luffy that wouldn‘t work on any other person just because of his personality
Vegapunk will give us a huge lore drop about DFs, explaining to the crew their very nature and that Luffy has eaten a mythical zoan. Everyone will be shocked, then we cut to Luffy, who's fallen asleep. Remember that to this day Luffy canonically does not know Nami's full backstory. Luffy doesn't care about much, and I doubt that he'll ever learn of his true DF being that of the Sun God Nika

@@bibhu9413 It could but that is no fun. Vegapunk sounding the nika nika alarm would be a good way for the WG and Shanks other big names etc to know without ever making Luffy aware. There is no real reason for Luffy to know and not knowing means he doesnt have to actively be or not be in line with Joy Boy's will.
I would imagine he would have to meet with the crew secretly, perhaps when the fight is over he just teleports in at the party after Wano or something and gives the info dump to the crew, perhaps bond with them a bit, gives a warning regarding future plot threads, etc.
i think it will be " only alive " because the world gov will do anything to get the fruit in their hands . if they would let anyone kill him the fruit would just spawn in the nearest normal fruit and the game begins again
I think, the best thing about One piece is how the story is framed altogether, giving the readers different kinds of theories and possibilities to ponder upon simultaneously making us confused. I guess this is the reason why people love the show so much. Oda hands down!!!

This would also make even more sense for us to see shanks next arc after the new bounties come out after luffy beats kaido and has a massive bounty possibly the highest in the story so far because the government claims it’s high due to beating kaido but in reality it’s that high cuz the fruit and they want him dead asap

Hiyori's contribution to the chapter is far overlooked. The title of the chapter, "Warrior of Liberation" not only refers to Luffy, but Hiyori and Oden as well.

I have a theory that the fruit told Luffy to eat it. The fact that we have absolute confirmation that Zoan fruits have a will of their own, it makes me look back to chapter 1. I always found it weird that Luffy eating the fruit was the thing he decided to do at that moment. It was in a chest. The fact that he opened someone else's chest and ate what was inside always seemed strange to me. What if the fruit told Luffy to eat it (Luffy heard this through the voice of all things), and in his simple-mindedness, he didn't even question it (maybe he thought one of Shank's crew was telling him to eat it.
Wow, and for once it didn't occurred to you that children are pure at heart and if the fruit had told him to, he could've told to sanks. The fruit has it's own will not voice. Similar wills may attract each other and make Reality.
the thing that annoys me the most is how no one of us manage to realize that luffy has been using his devil fruit correctly to some extent this whole time cuz whenever he has an idea for a way to make him powerful he manages to make it come true gear 2/3/4 ect the balloon state net state and all it just shows how great of a writer Oda is. he fouled everyone

Luffy had to die to awaken his fruit because he needed to experience ultimately freedom… Death. I believe this is a perfect explanation to why his voice disappeared .
I like the idea that luffy will liberate kaido and make him laugh again (preferably after his flashback) and then when the marines come kaido will sacrifice himself to let the straw hats escape

In SBS Vol. 59 a questioner noticed that Oda-sensei shows the Straw Hat Devil Fruit Users in a pair of numbers from 1-10. And the missing pair of numbers was 2-9, cause with the fact that Luffy's true Devil Fruit is the Hito Hito no Mi: “Nika (2-9)” all numbers from 1-10 have been completed. Also, 2-9 is just like 5-6 upside down and one of the bigger topics of One Piece is also “turning the world upside down” (like that what Roger said to Rayleigh) and Luffy is doing it now with his awakening. Also, the sum of the respective pairs of numbers associated with Luffy (“5-6” and “2-9”) is “11”. The number 11 is considered a Karmic number in numerology, which means that it is associated with spiritual awakening. The number 11 is furthermore a guide to find the Twin Flame (A twin flame is an incredibly intense soul connection. A more appropriate description of a twin flame is a person’s “other half.”) In addition, the number 11 is a double number in esotericism and appears as 11:11. Now looking at Blackbeard with this in mind, Luffy and Blackbeard acted alike when they first met (Chapter 223 / Panel 15-17) but said the exact opposite thing. Luffy (Origin: East Blue / Note: The sun rises in the east) has the Nika (Sun God) Fruit (which represents the light/yang). Blackbeard (possible Origin: West Blue / Note: The sun sets in the west) has the Yami Fruit (which represents the darkness/yin). In Chapter 441 (Panel 16) ACE forms a huge (sun-like) fireball and Blackbeard says (in Panel 17) “ZE HA HA HA! THE SUN?! OR THE DARKNESS?! ONLY ONE OF US WILL WIN!” (A possible foreshadowing of Luffy vs. Blackbeard). All these facts fit so well into the topic “2 sides of the same coin” that it might be possible that the Yami Yami no Mi is special (in the same way) like the Hito Hito no Mi “Nika” (formerly Gomu Gomu no Mi).
If you think about, imagine how Oda has been planning all of this from the 1st chapter. We all thought Luffy was rubberman. Oda's the real mastermind. A good storyline even after 25 years already.

this discussion has created so many theories in my head like a Blackbeard and Shanks alliance on Elbaf because of his crew's ability to steal Devil Fruits from the dead or Blackbeard stealing Big Mom's Polneglyph during Wano. I also think a scene we should probably talk about in the latest chapter is Im's wanted posters and how the dagger in Shirahoshi's left eye can foreshadow what could have happened during the Reverie/Levely Arc.

Funny how we just assumed things were normal with like red hawk's fire or how Luffy made a teeth grow back out of the blue. What if the one piece is Hito Hito no mi: model Nika, Which was sent to the future by Toki's DF ability. 1. So Roger didn't get the one piece 2. Shanks knows about this from Roger and Searched for the DF 3. When he got it, He want Ace, but Luffy ate the DF, and Shanks accepted it as fate. 4. After Luffy eats DF Shanks was acted differently toward Luffy, He arrived at Marineford to probably save Luffy knowing that Luffy will be there to save Ace. 5. When Luffy said he will find the world's biggest treasure, Shanks know, Luffy already has it. So he left the Roger's Strawhat to Luffy as his completion of the mission. 6. Shanks bet on the new era because he knows Luffy ate the DF 7. Five Elders knows shanks got the Nika DF, That's maybe the reason Shanks was allowed in Mariejois and every known member of Red hair Pirates were non-DF users, so anyone can eat it at any time. 8. Probably Roger crew members, Mihawk, Garp, and Sengoku know about the Nika DF other than Five Elders and Imu. 9. Everything Shanks said about Gomu Gomu no mi was a lie, While Shanks negotiate with the WG by saying he still has the DF which makes Luffy a Pacamecia type in WG's eyes. 10. On reverie Shanks revealed that DF was eaten by Luffy, WG's priorities changed and they ordered the execution of Luffy.

The story Oda weaves is so incredible. There is a part of me that is a little sad in a way because I did always love the concept of Luffy's gomu gomu powers being a silly concept that you can't imagine would have the potential it does, much like Luffy himself. So many crazy powers are introduced throughout the series and somehow he overcomes them as one stretchy boi lol. Still love the progression more though!
Kaido fruit is outrageous and likely awaken. A ton of transformations with the dragon form at the top and the abilities it offers. Certainly one of the most powerful Fruita so far
I'm loving Luffy's gear 5th Joyboy Nicca power up. The fact that a Shonen Mc's big power boost isn't your typical super strength/speed/ultimate attack brooding and based on anger type of power up, but instead quite the opposite in fact. A power based on the users limitless imagination and kind heart where he's not out to Destroy and maime his enemies but basically humiliate them into submission,humbling them and breaking their pride. All while having the time of his life, not only saving the innocent victims from bodily harm,but removing the fear and trauma out of the situation and healing their hearts and minds as well. Some people don't like Luffy's cartoon like powers but I believe they serve a much deeper significance than people realize think about it when this battle is over people will be able to sleep, having fun dreams rather than nightmares about death and monsters. In other words instead of being scared and traumatized for life,people are smiling and will be able to get past this otherwise horrific and devastating situation and in the long run life happier more meaningful lives. Luffy's cartoon battle =😁😂🤣 Normal Shonen protagonist battle =😶🌫️🤕☹️😱🤬😡💀☠️😭
Maybe Kaido somehow knew after dying only one can awaken or become Joyboy , that's why he was trying to die too and that's why he was so keen to kill and defeat luffy .
I believe all the people who clashed in the god valley incident have been looking and betting on specific people / candidates to become JoyBoy, who has to be male. - BigMom, with all her sons. - Roger, with Ace. Last thing he wanted after reaching laughtale was a son. - Whitebeard, he accepted ace, and was a "Father" figure for many pirates. - Garp. Raising both Luffy and Ace, who he knew was Roger's Son. - Shanks, not in incident, but bet on Luffy, and obtained the gomu gomu fruit. -Kaidou, had a daughter, although he never calls her daughter, but son. He wanted a son, so atleast someone with his blood could become JoyBoy, since he could not. He knew JoyBoy would appear/liberate Wano someday. That's why he never allowed Yamato to leave. She was Kaido's candidate. She had to became powerful enough to beat Kaido someday.
I just want to point out another interesting parallel between Luffy and Blackbeard. Luffys fruit gives him dampened physical damage so he take reduced damage and almost no pain when hit. We can see that in how he reacts when he gets hit and it actually hurts. Blackbeard on the other hand has a fruit that increases the amount of pain and damage he receives when being hit.
Probably, given the knowledge we have and looking at it from a metalevel, but the problem is Blackbeard is written to be incredibly weird in his fights. He goes out of his way to hide the nature of his fruit, which again we probably know why, but the way he words things and his penchant for lying make it questionable. The way he words his baseline darkness is it has the power to consume all, so does he take more damage because it absorbs the whole blow, or does it actually absorb all the damage and Blackbeard is lying and playing hurt, which is a thing he does to catch people off guard.
I think we need to stop taking the word "sun" in such a literal sense. Especially to bring Blackbeard closer back to the essence of "darkness", and perhaps even to the furthest depths of the ocean floor. Referring to the sun as a depiction for the release of bright energy and "joy" into the world, fueling the life it revolves around, seems to be more fitting in Luffy's case vs Blackbeard.
If luffy can’t use flame or actual sun attacks then that destroys the point of him being a mythical zoan if his only ability is still rubber the resin theory would’ve been way better

Talking about series changing events reminds me of The Future Diary (spoilers for which coming below). The writer knew from the beginning that Yuno was from a different, first, timeline, but you don’t learn that until 80%-ish through the story. It would have been crazy reading as it came out.
not sure. one piece red isnt canon. oda already said it. problem is unless the actual manga reveals information on shanks it doesnt make sense for more info to be released in a non canon film. we probably will get a little bit of info but nothing major. probably about a villian from shanks past

I'm really hoping that we get to see Usopp give Luffy some powerups. Since the Nika fruit runs on imagination, just think of what Usopp could conjure up to tell Luffy. As an example: think of how Luffy got stronger after Usopp told him that the afro wig would give him strength. And now Luffy can awaken his fruit, making it even stronger.
This was a such an amazing and cheerful video. Just 2 people who love the series talking about it and smiling. With the reveal of Luffy actually having the Hito Hito no mi model nika. The awakening being able to freely manipulate everything around him with his imagination. Aren’t we all technically being affected by Luffys fruit every time he makes us smile? Bringing us joy?

DRUNK THOUGHT ALERT !! Blackbeard fruit might be a mythical squid/octopus thing. Their tentacles were said to have like a “mini-brain” hence the multiple personalities of blackbeard. And you know both octopus and squid produce the “black ink” where it can be related to the yami yami no mi. Also think about the giant squid vs sperm whale in real life and all that whale symbolism in one piece.

I believe Shanks is a villan of some kind who is using Luffy to figure out more about the devil fruit. That's why he came to marineford to save Luffy. Like Oda will reveal it like he did with the gomu gomu no mi. And that will be the bigggest reveal. That's why he told Luffy to find him when his a great pirate. What does that tell you given Shanks moves afterwards. Luffy's biggest and hardest fight ever is yet to come.

Just saw something really cool rewatching episode 69 dubbed, its where Garp is training Coby on a beach with a full moon in the background which I think is a reference to BB! Anyway Coby is influenced by Luffys speech when they first met, then we see Garp laughing hysterically with the sound of drums playing! With all the 'will' inheritance and Joy Boy themes going on it could be relevant or just another great piece of foreshadowing
Shanks was friends with Luffy before he ate the fruit, one shouldn't recontextualize that relationship based on this Hito Hito reveal. I too like the idea that Shanks was there to find Ace and give him the fruit. He probably knew the fruit had a will of its own and even though he failed to find Ace and give the fruit to him, he was still probably not too distraught over it. When Luffy stated with such enthusiasm that he was going to be the king of the pirates, Shanks probably thought that he didn't fail after all and gave Luffy the hat, which was also probably meant for Ace.
The convo @11:21 makes me really want to know what information Kaido's ponoglift says. Maybe information regarding becoming joyboy? Explains his obsession with joyboy and dying trying to fulfill requirements to become him. Can't wait for the next chapter.
What Jacob said here at 10:40 makes me think of mr. morj's theory about the raid still failing, zoan types awaken after they faint, Kaido will still awaken after losing to luffy's 5th gear, the beast pirates will also awaken and neither luffy nor the crew will be able to fight back
Did you notice that when roger got to the final island he laughed and joy boy makes people laugh. Roger could have died when publicly executed and reborn as luffy or the will of joy boy was left and the Key to the all blue was left there as well.
in one piece knowledge really is power some of the physically and politically strongest character are the ones who know more then history bookes themselves. it's so cool that the most terrifying characters are the ones who are plotting behind the scenes. shanks, Blackbeard, Im + the 5 elders, dragon are some of piece's greatest mysterys *because* they know more then the characters and readers and they're *planning* on doing something with ther're knowledge. the lore in one piece it so unbelievably deep. even if we got a full 1,000,000,000+ page novel unveiling all the secrets and lore in one piece, we would still have discussion on theories, it's genuinely overwhelming, and that's why i love one piece.
