As much as I like the Cummins, you did a really good thing replacing it with a V8. The large Diesels are great options for hauling heavier loads, but the long term maintenance costs can be a crapshoot. Either you get one with few issues and hardly any major repairs or you end dumping tens of thousands of dollars in repairs at it. It really depends on how and where you use it. That Hemi will do everything you need it to do (plus some) and maintenance will be about as cheap as any other gasoline vehicle on the road. You probably won’t haul anywhere near what it’s really capable of. PLUS you’re going from stiff leaf springs to coil springs.

With all due respect, I would recommend that you dump the warranty - hopefully without a cancellation fee. They are always a rip-off, and $6,000 for one is particularly insane. Besides, you will only keep the truck for 6 months to a year, and then you will want a Ford Lightening or a Rivian or Tesla Cyber truck, if it’s out by then. You will likely never use the warranty.

I own a Tesla X P100 and I know what you're talking about as far as taking off. Right now it's at Tesla, they're replacing the battery, luckily still under warranty and they're covering everything. The only problem is that it will take about a month to do the job, but I rented a Tesla that is covered by the insurance, so no problem.

Smart decisions! For the house you’re not throwing money away and not getting anything for it. You’re working towards owning an asset. Also you ditched a ton of debt and still have nice cars. That Tesla is sweet!

Randy I like to own and drive Manual transmission cars and trucks. It makes me feel safer because a lot of people don't know how to drive a manual transmission cars.

In my 54 years I have never heard of a $6000 extended warranty. Would you share with us the coverages included in the warranty you purchased?

Good move. The Diesel is not good if you aren't heavy hauling, my 2014 5.7 Ram tows great, I have towed 15 cars including a 1963 Galaxy and a 1994 F-150 on a tandem axle trailer with no issues and average 13 MPG while towing 300 miles in LA/TX. I get 20+ MPG empty. At 160K miles now and no major issues with the truck. Stay under 11K tow weight and you are fine.

To be honest my opinion cars are losing assets I wouldn't spend 170k on cars and trucks. I got my first house at 21 years old and made 100,000 in profit there is no way I would put even 100k in cars and trucks that are losing assets how does randy spend 100k blows my mind. My guess randy will keep this new truck for 5 months and the Tesla 6 months.

Randy at the end of the day you are a free man to make your own choices in life. The fact of the matter is, trading in brand new vehicles months after one purchased them, results in a massive money fire.

For what you’re doing with a truck, I think you totally made the right decision. I have a 2021 3500 limited dually. I bought it because at the time I was towing a 42ft gooseneck almost daily. I’m not doing that now so after seeing this video I’m going to go check out my local Ram dealer. Sure the big diesel is wonderful and a truly beautiful truck. But I don’t need all that capability anymore.

After 25 years of credit card debt, I (last month) got that debt to $0. I most definitely can relate. $500 per month added back into available funds is a HUGE chunk to someone that was on disability since age 62. Of course, now a tree is going to fall on my house to eat all of that up (not thinking positively - just realistically). I also have a restored '68' Mustang and '93' Mercury Capri with both tops that I'm thinking about selling at least one, so I can park my daily driver '07' Kia Rio in my garage and not have to scrape windows most winter days.

It's not how much you make, but it is how much you keep that really counts in the long run...what you don't save today you will not save tomorrow as it is easier to spend than to save...take care.

Way to go ! The 1500 is a great truck and will serve you very well. Nothing wrong with the lowering of payments , frees up $$ for what’s next. Toys will come and go but building a house is something that a lot of us would only do once ( perhaps twice - or more if you are insane) in our lives. Very sensible move.

That was the smartest financial decision to make and unless you are going to be towing heavy loads you don’t need a diesel the 1500 will do just fine with what you’re towing and the hellcat it was cool but when it starts needing repairs that could get Expensive electric cars are great for around town And probably cheaper to insure as well

Congrats on new house, you probably know this, but we saved a tone on interest on ours, by paying same note, but in two monthly payments, and paying extra here and there, paid our home off in 11 years as to 30. Those two things saved us almost 200,000 in interest, check it out. That'll buy you a few extra cars or another house lol

First modification to the new rides ...... front and rear dash cameras. You will be glad you did. Some insurance companies are now giving discounts if you have the dash cameras. Stay Safe.

My grandpa has a 2011 ram 1500 5.7 hemi. He had a car hauler he built from an old camper thats heavy fully loaded with heavy duty trusses for roofing up parleys canyon here in utah at 70 and we barley felt the trailer. Them 5.7s are plenty capable of towing

hey randy ever thought about leasing cars since you like having the newer cars. Also when a lease car is in an accident and its totaled, they pay off the rest of what ever lease payments you have left.

Good decisions, I actually prefer the work truck spec of the red one, I think a truck should be a truck, an 88k luxury car should drive better than a truck in my opinion. Plus the red looks nicer and the V8 is easier to maintain long term if you keep it.

I have the 19 big horn and I love it. There are some things I wished I had added such as the center console. I will be eventually moving up to the 2500 like yours. I want a gas engine and I'm on the fence about 4x4.
