The open tailgate might’ve cushioned some of the impact and minimized potential whiplash.

Randy, unfortunately we're living in a society that no longer teaches accountability for their actions. Just do as you wish without any consequences for your actions. That scumbag was a prime example of the lowest common denominator. Like others have previously mentioned, get a hi-def dash cam. Forward, rearward, and side facing. Having the ability to provide proof at the scene will absolve you any responsibility.

This is why you need a Dash Cam.

Im glad you guys are okay. Not too long ago, i was going about 75 on the highway and some guy in a older Chevy Malibu was coming up fast behind me. He was NOT MOVING. Just going in a straight line. I literally had to floor it and move to the second lane and he flew passed me barely missing my truck like inches away. He had to be going 110-115mph. HE NEVER MOVED. He Didn’t try to turn or hit the brakes, just went in a straight line. Had I not moved in .5 seconds later i would have been hit and my F150 would most likely have been totaled. I don’t think he had a plate on it either.

This truck got loads of sweet memories from day one establishing the new AARHQ for almost an year and you had been driving with family around as well. Sad to see its going anyway good luck with new missions and congratulations for the New arrivals. Stay safe Randy dont chase anyone

Consider renting the house and keeping the shop. Building a new one with the cost of wood would be expensive. .Rentals can be depreciated and any maintenance is deductible.

Somebody hit my truck in a parking lot back in April, I JUST received my deductible check a couple weeks ago. The only reason I got it back was there were cameras in the store parking lot showing what really happened. Long story short I should of put a dash cam in it first because you just never know

I'm not American, but I'm really curious about the insurance business in USA because the cars get totaled for NOTHING! Man, in the rest of the world a collision like that would be considered a "minor crash" insurance company will fix that easy and won give you the option to get it totaled. I'm a pizza delivery guy in NE OKC area. It's an African American community area and I drive like every single street every week. If I see that Oldsmobile, I willl let you know. Anyway, in Oklahoma, you must have a dashcam, you shouldn't trust other driver, do everything what you can do. I've had 3 hit and run cases in the past 2 years. Never trust other people you don't know.

I have a dashcam in both the front and rear windows, maybe an idea to get one, just glad you and Jessica were ok 👍👍

I had a guy rear end me in front of my neighborhood entrance he checked to make sure everyone was ok and by the time the cops showed up he was gone. I learned my lesson that day always keep an eye on them to make sure they don't try and run.

Glad you’re alright! Im in Florida where no one can drive and traffic is horrible. About a year ago and less than a month of owning my Tacoma, I got rear ended at a light by a small sedan. They were probably going 20-25 mph. The front end was gone while my truck looked untouched. Ended up getting a new rear bumper, hitch, and right frame rail pulled back out a few mm’s. Purchased a dashcam right after.

Randy, please reconsider getting Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. If you or Jessica had been injured in this accident your UM/UIM would have covered the damages for your bodily injury. It covers things like medical bills, pain and suffering plus lost wages. Liability pays the damages if you hit or hurt someone else but UM covers you and your family if someone injures them in a car accident. You really need UM/UIM equal to your liability limits.

Good finanical decision Randy on trading the Hellcat and the Ram truck in. Money saved is money earned. My advice for future hit and run is to film the accident with your camera. Your film is the greatest evidence when it comes to your insurance claim and court case. A dash cam will help as well. Glad you were OK Randy. A dash camera that you can move from vehicle to vehicle can be useful

Living in upstate NY I pay a lot of money to make sure my vehicles are inspected , safe and have the proper insurance. You got be 100 % covered or you mite lose more than your ride.
