Seriously, thank you for saving it. These vehicles have souls that outshine anything made in the last 20 years. I’d rather have a classic car than anything they make today.
Today's cars are junk. Nothing but computer components in them now instead of mechanical parts. Metal can only be recycled so many times. They just get cheesier and cheesier every year. There's so many stupid little things that can go wrong too it's ridiculous
Bro I used to own this same model/year! I will tell you, never had so much fun with a car! jumping train tracks, being chased ( I wont give more details), cruising on strips, and sleeping in the back seat. man I loved my baby! so proud and happy to of owned this year of car!!!
Please please keep it Gold on Gold!!! Older brother had same car (not an SS) as a winter beater Cleveland circa 1978 Probably paid like $150 for one twice as nice as yours. Nice find. Glad to see young fellas, like yourself, into old cars. Gives you a real feeling of satisfaction. Looks like you live in a picturesque part of the country albeit the rust belt
Id give 10 times that all day long for one as solid as your brothers was then! Haha. And yea they are so fun to work on. Rust kills everything here though. Thanks for watching!
My dads buddy in high school had a 67 SS 327 fast back 4 spd that same color in this video. It was so cool. This is my next car to find. 67 or a 68 but it’s gotta be a fast back. Fastbacks have their own look. Nice find. Thanks for saving them
You totally took the worlds right out of my mouth as I was about the day them, talking about rolling right into that little gap! “The Lord at work”’ no doubt!
Nice find. I had a 67 gold with black interior and blk vinyl top. Bucket seat interior. Now I have a 62! Thanks for serving our country and sorry to hear about your grandmother.
I bought a '67 Impala in 1976 for $150. I used the 283 out of it for my '70 Malibu. I gave the body to a buddy of mine and I have been regretting it for a very long time. The body was perfect and I truly believe that the '67 was one of the best looking bodies Chevy ever built! Keep doing what you're doing!
I was with my uncle when he pick up his new 1967 blue 2 door Chevy impala. What a great car. I'm glad there are folks like your self keeping these cars going!
you are so lucky to have a great cool dad to enjoy these adventures with! I had a buddy who had a 67,the car's as old as me,lol! i remember being in grade school and feeling so lucky to be hanging out with the big kids riding in a cool looking car like that! on a somber note,a cool guy i worked with briefly has a 72 Mercury Montego GT just like I had at 1 time, and I haven't seen many, was going to show me his and take a cruise. just found out today he just passed on.he was only 53, that's young to me . enjoy the times and hopefully we'll meet up somewhere along the road all driving cool classics with stories and cherished memories to pass along with them.☆☆☆
You couldn't land that car against that trailer or have the trunk fit in that hole in the barn again in a trillion years. That was Karma rewarding you. Perhaps for your service. Thank you for that by the way. I love the ss models too. I have had a chevelle. Two monte Carlos and now a camaro. All ss models. I think it's great that a young man is searching these out and saving them from time and the elements. Good for you my friend.
Man that's cool , my dad owned a 1965 Impala SS 396 turbo 400 , I'm in the process of trying to find it now , keep up the great work , these cars deserve to live.👍👍🏁
Very nice, I have a 67 impala convertible factory A/C that still works great, power brake, L30, non ss. 2nd one I have owned. Love this cars. Great find.
I was followed by a restored red one a couple of years ago on a vacation road trip, on some backroads. Finally on a straight section I got a good view and heard the engine when they gunned it and passed me. Cool car.
Pretty Cool - no damage to the barn or the 67. You are right- the Lord lookin out for you and the Chev. Thank You for your service to our nation son. Found you by lukk. Just subbed for more good content.
My father-in-law pulled the 396 from his sister's '67 Caprice. She parked it on their parent's property in Springville, Cal. back in '84; I saw the car in the mid-2000's still parked there (it is still there). My wife's grandfather died a few years back, but he and his wife, my wife's grandma (Still alive and kicking at 90+ years old--my father in law is 74), were packrat/hoarders, and their property is a collector's dream of antiques such as old stoves, refrigerators, and a couple cars, including the '67. However, since they never liked to part with anything, if anyone inquired about their stuff, rather than sell it and make money, they would do the opposite. In the Caprice's case, my wife's grandpa got tired of people wanting to buy the car (like he was EVER going to do something with it) combined with the fact that he was going senile, took his backhoe and turned the car on its rood, and pulled all the springs and whatnot off it. I last saw the car when my wife and kids and I went to his funeral in 2009(?). It was turned upside down on their property. Not sure if it is worth anything, LOL.
Coolest Chevy made... I remember seeing a red post 67 coming of a trailer black interior and bench seat with a 427 cross flags on the fenders You got great taste , enjoy the build , it’s worth it Alberta Dave
Love that SS! Badass! There was a buddy of mine back in school, he was a year or two ahead of me, but he had a 67’ Impala SS, he actually blew the 327 up that came in the car so he and his Dad had put a 427 ci out of a wrecked vette and put down in the impala! Man that thing was wicked! Yours is gonna be awesome too, and I know it!
It would be easier to replace the entire quarter panel of the car because rust will be throughout the panel. Also strenuously suggesting that the motor gets rebuilt and don't be worried about having it running right now.worry about making sure it's rebuilt right. That goes for the whole car. I've been looking for one of those for 3 years now, so you're a lucky bastard.lol. Kidding. Good luck with the build.
Im playing with the idea of a fiberglass hood trunk and front fenders. I HATE rust lol. Thanks for watching man! Join the Impala facebook groups and youll find one! Good luck man!
Looks pretty rough to me. Had the 1967 396 Impala SS with two factory racing stripes down the middle. Young and dumb in high school. Just another ride back then. Would love to have it back. Sold the car for peanuts.
my first car was a 67 S/S Impala, has a fastback look to it! Yep, the brown car, just like my first one! Bought the body for $50.00, engine for $50.00, power glide trans $50.00, traded my 16 gauge shotgun for 4 chrome slots, battery and hei distributer for $30.00, total of 170.00 in a whole "first car" for me at 17 yrs old!
in canada, pontiacs were chevy clones, with the strato chief, (biscayne), laurentian, (bel air), parisienne, (impala) and grand parisienne, (caprice). all were built on chevy bodies, with chevy dashes, and chevy drivetrains, the only difference was pontiac bored out the 235 to 261, both were built in the same oshawa, ont. plant.
That would have been awesome! And your Chevelle looks beautiful! I have a 72 SS 454 W-Code with the M22! It was my first car and I am preparing for a restoration on it too!
I owned a '67 Impala SS 327 in the mid 1970's. Yellow exterior with black vinyl. It came with a powerglide trans. but had been replaced with a Turbo 400 trans. Mine was in very good shape but it's just an ugly body style of a car. I wrapped it around a telephone pole. Also owned a '65 ' Impala 4 door that I installed a 396 into, my moms car previously. Also owned a '66 Chevelle SS 396. It was beattle bug orange and I ran 396's, a 427 and a 454 in it. Barely pulled away from a 1969 Thunderbird with a 429 in it on the top end at 140+ mph running south of Abilene Texas. " Back in the Day "
The valve covers with center bolts were used on later engines than the 327. For instance, an 89 305 I have looks like that engine, and I think the 350 also used them in that "generation". Same on my 94 Caprice 265 (4.3 V8) The Speedway Motors catalog has some good pictures and listings. The 67s are really nice cars, even if yours turns out not to have the 327.
Subbed and I'm certainly glad this was in my 'recommended' list. Growing up a good friend's mom used to have a '67 Biscayne. 6 cylinder and '3 on the tree' 2 door. I've personally owned NO '67s or '68s , but I have owned A few '66s, a couple of '65s, 2 '69s, a '64, and a '58 (rough as all get out). I've always liked the grill on the '67s but have never been able to purchase one. Even 'back in the day' (late '70s early '80s) Maybe someday....
Glad to have you with us, and thanks for the kind words! One of my 67s fits that description exactly, with the straight 6 and 3 on the tree. Only difference is it was a 4 door. Sounds like you have owned quite an awesome collection of muscle cars. I LOOVE the 65 tail lights!
Russ: I had a 1967 Biscayne, turbo-thrift 250 c.i. six, 3 on the tree. totally stripped when ordered by old person (I suspect) Best car ever, put over 120,000 miles on it until the frame rusted out, same gold color
I had a 69’ Impala, but it was a 4 door and had a 350 in it. Still it wasn’t a dog, I could keep up with my cousin who had a 71’ Charger w/ a built 318 in it, mild racing cam and everything! I could stay right on his ass with that Impala!
Well to be Honest there are some things I changed like the Points I converted to a Pertronix ignition real simple swap and replaced the master cylinder for safety reasons.. I'm planning to drive the car cross country so I'm seeing what it needs till I go.. I bought an extra starter , alt and regulator for 90 bucks to have around just in case.. The car sat so long I had to do the brakes.. It's what you expect for a 46 year old car.. Now my '76 Trans Am has been super reliable needing just here and there stuff I rebuilt the carb well because it needed it and again a lot of parts were on sale so I bought them up to have just in case .. I grew up on these cars so remember what went wrong with them when i was a kid or teenager.. I will say being mechanical has saved my ass, but I love working on them anyways that is why I have them.. The big jobs I send out but that is rare.. If you want a '73 why not ? But I don't know your situation so I can only speak for my needs ya know..
Jerseys Rants I definitely want it, I love these old American land yachts. but the fact that Americans car are so rare where I live makes thinking about spare parts scary lol
My sister boyfriend had one when I was a kid. It was purple with white interior it was a really cool car. He had it for yrs. than give it to my brother but it just rusted to shit. But i always wanted one.
you lucky bugger. i wish i could buy a 1968 ss . i love the 6x round lights on the back of the 68. do you where i could buy one ?. and export it to Australia. all the best from backwards Australia. 👍
in 5 or 6 years give us an update on the restoration. the first time one came into the shop in late 66 i thought the car was exeptinoal i bought one a red ss i took the strato bench, better for dating in 67.
I use to have 65ss man I miss it so much, help me keep a lookout for a 65 64, or 63 thank you. Your videos are awesome I like the abandoned places and the muscle car combo brilliant.
The 67 and 68‘s are all my favorite far is Chevy impala or Chevy Bel Air, they’re just awesome cars I like the two doors over the four doors but if fixed up the four doors are just a sweet
