I went to the show in Philadelphia and Peggy and Danny are such phenomenal performers. Best show I’ve ever been to hands down. So surreal seeing the two front runners of experimental hip hop on the same stage
@3hopcp yeah but the album was more of an experiment in production for JPEG, and he said he probably is never gonna do it again. I can see them collaborating more but idk about another Scaring the Hoes
Danny Brown solo set was more like him being storyteller because he didn't move too much, but honestly he actually grasped his flow smoothly most of the time way better than his previous show before.
Honestly I think a lot of that has to do with him being recently sober, he seems to have much more energy and enthusiasm now which is great. He's talked about just how fucked up he would get before (and after) shows so it's nice to see that he's thriving on stage with mental clarity
@@cloudbloomyeah I saw him at red rocks in october and his set was kinda rough he was definitely off of too much of something and he wasn’t getting much of his lyrics
It is awesome to see. I go to Bruiser Thanksgiving every year and the 2021 show he did 4 songs and forgot all his lyrics and cut the show short there. I drove 5 hours to see him cut the set after 4 songs and it was pretty sad. He was tore up you could tell. It’s great to see him redeem himself.
I haven't seen Danny live in like 7 years now, but I remember him having crazy amounts of energy back then. He was up and down the stage constantly. He seemed super into it, but the second the last song was over, he just dipped without saying a word lmao.
Just saw them tonight in NYC. Rooftop on Pier 17 couldnt have been a better cooler venue outdoor AND ONE TIME ONLY LIVE BAND WITH THEM it was insane sounded incredible with the live band well executed
I saw them in Indy and it was one of the coolest shows I’ve been to. They had a live backing band for the STH stuff and just played instrumentals for the solo stuff. When they came out they said it was a one time thing and I honestly wish they would do it the whole tour. So fucking sick.
I see that one of their albums is called Scaring the Hoes. I do not understand why they would want to scare the hoes, would they not want to spread their seed to many morally bankrupt fertile females? They could easily sell themselves as dangerous urban gangstas who are bad boys and alphas. If I was in their position I would sell myself as a bad boy sex God. They are not very smart.
I came to New Haven College Street straight from work in Stratford on my own to see the two live and BOY it was the best decision I've ever made in recent years ! JPEG was unbelievable and hearing Danny's quirky laughter in person was surreal. I wished I knew you were in the crowd so I'd met you as a fellow fan Melon !
Saw them in Philly yesterday and it was an amazing show. The visuals, performances, and their chemistry was on point. Also, the merch is amazing too. The CvS poster tee is so great.
he did a cover of call me maybe when opening for turnstile and snail mail at the anthem in DC too! he was electric, so excited to see them this tour hehe
Gonna be seeing them in Fl in 2 weeks. Super exciting to hear a positive reaction to them. Was put on to peggy from this project. Have been listening to Danny since XXX. Happy to be able to hear some classics. 👍🍈
The album to me was already a fever dream. I hope their collab isn't a one time thing. I don't need a yearly album, but getting STH v2 in like 3-4 years would be dope
Saw Peggy solo live earlier this year. Energy was insane. I've seen metal crowds that didn't go off as hard. Easily one of the best live acts out there right now.
I bought the same shirt you did at their show in Pittsburgh, and we were the first crowd to get them to play God Loves You, which wasn't on the setlist prior!
I saw the first show of the tour, loved the vibe that night. There was a few funny moments of Danny missing his entrance and Peggy telling the DJ to restart the song and peggy would rap with danny to help him in. Great show
First U.S. show or the first show globally? I was in the first U.S. show apart from Peggy and Danny’s performance which I covered in a separate comment, I loved the crowd-I was second to first row and the crowd was chanting for Starberry as an ironic thing (like “we’re here for Peggy and Danny, who tf is this guy?”) but then Starberry came out and put forth a great performance and everyone was legitimately feeling it and were super nice to him and all that.
I think Danny has always benefited from working with forward thinking producers. Difference with Peggy is, he can make a song with really odd structure and chaos at its core but it never feels wrong and some how still remains hype as fuck and translate really well to rap fans still as well as the electronic music nerds. I’d be gutted if they don’t work together more! I think a fantano interview would be a missed opportunity with these 2 as well! ❤
I am recovering from going to the JpegMafia and Danny Brown show last night. Holy fk'n sh*t. I'm an old school head and was just expecting a hip hop show but that was not what I got. That was the best show I've ever seen from an audio, visual, and energy level. If you get the chance to see this show, do yourself a solid and go. I went by myself and wish I had dragged my friends to the show because its hard to put into words how amazing that was. Worth the drive to New Orleans, worth the ticket, worth feeling like I ran a marathon this morning. That was incredible.
Can't believe i choose to not go that that show, love both artist and could have met the Needle-drop himself in the flesh. *sigh* Well hope to see all of you three some other time.
I saw both of them in Philadelphia, and they were both excellent. The amount of energy they gave to crowd was so crazy, that the crowd was forming a mosh pit. I even got to meet Peggy himself after the show and got my copy of LP! Signed AND I got a picture with him (kind of,it was blurry and my dad was taking it and we were squished.) besides that I loved it.
Man I wanted to see this tour so badly. The closest date to me was Indianapolis and that was the last day of my summer internship so I could not make it. Fortunately I was able to see Peggy at pitchfork fest which was just so incredible. So sad I couldn’t see this tour with no Chicago date but seeing Peggy live was honestly a top 5 moment in my life. Unreal performer, best concert I’ve been to easily. Love these dudes so much and I pray they go on another tour that hits Chicago
I’ve had tickets to scaring the hoes since it was first announced, and suddenly Kenny Mason was added to our leg of the tour. I freaked out, I already had the tickets!! Now I’m seeing two of my top 5 favorite artists at the same time, I would sooner die than give up this show. Seeing them august 26th
YESSSS! AOTY for now and can’t wait to see them in Orlando August 20. IMO I feel JPEG has awakened a sleeping, addicted Danny, and show him his flowers to get back in the stu. An underrated artist (GOAT) that was almost left to pay his debt for Attrocity exhibition. I love that he has a new fan base that he influenced their fav artist with. One of the most endearing friendships I’ve seen since RTJ and I’m here for it!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I’m also disappointed
Saw them tonight at Pier 17 in NYC. These two geniuses are far too seasoned and cognizant to allow for a dull moment, but I left feeling like I saw them before they found the chemistry they’re destined to create. As a duo and individually, all the performances were top notch. JPEG’s vocals screeched and ached with exceptional force, and DB spits with an overdose of effortlessness and suave that make you abandon all inhibition. The show is paced well and the solo performances scratch pretty much all the itches. It’s awesome and confusing to see two of your favorite rappers share the stage. I can only imagine seeing the religious spectacle of Drake and Kanye together….
Saw them in Pittsburgh last month and loved it! First concert where I didn't join the mosh pit, and even then, I could still feel the high energy throughout the room. As someone who loved the album despite being a bit disappointed, I was not expecting to enjoy the show so much. Starberry opened for them, and I had no idea who they were, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good their songs were as well!
I caught them in Philly. At first everyone was really hype for just Peggy, so much so there were sympathy Danny chants. But Danny came out alone and did Really Doe and the crowd went ballistic. You were right, he did Dip from Hybrid Theory which was really cool to hear live. His solo set also seemed louder than the rest of the show. And what a performer the guy is. He didn't miss a single bar and he sounds the same as all the studio recordings. Lastly, the pit for the Scaring the Hoes song is the most I've seen a crowd open up. It was astounding.
I went to the very first show of the tour in Nashville, and while I loved it and it was def one of my fav live experiences, seeing the shows that have followed leaves me a bit bummed. They seemed to have played it very safe with the first few shows, not knowing exactly what they would perform, so they just did the hits. Peggy's solo set was like his four most popular songs (Calvert, BALD, Baby I'm Bleeding, and call me maybe), and seeing him at the newer songs do stuff like NEMO or Jesus Forgive Me and even VENGEANCE just kind of makes me feel left out. Even seeing them do God Loves You stings a bit, because EVERYONE at the first show was chanting for that song every single time Peggy said "alright what we doing next", and yet they didn't do it. The setlist, just based on the screenshot in this video, also looks way longer than the first show. This was my first time going to show that was the first show of its tour, and I'll probably try to avoid that in the future. I thought maybe it meant we might get to see some weirder shit that might get cut later, and maybe be the "test" audience to see what sticks and what doesn't, but instead we got a setlist that, while it was extremely entertaining and energetic and crazy, felt pretty safe, which is the opposite of what you expect either of these guys to do.
yeah i feel pretty cheated. plus i spent $50 on a CD where they signed the PLASTIC, and they fixed that at all the other shows. also the audio was awful at that venue, i never wanna go there again. I'm just glad I saw peggy last year in Knoxville.
I get that, I was looking at their stories and the live bands made me feel left out too, but honestly, I’m not too bothered-I had fun. The Live CD thing is absolute BS though can’t believe that happened lol, glad I didn’t get one of the vinyl records for my collection.
You should do more videos talking about shows you went to! I’m assuming you went and saw IDLES and LCD Soundsystem at the RE:SET Series at Forest Hills in June. I was there too! Hope you had a blast!
The only west coast date I've seen, and I'm actually going to, is for L.A. on Sept 9. I'm really excited, especially since I haven't seen Danny Brown since 2019 when he toured for the uknowwhatimsayin¿ album!
I wish I could've gone when they came near me but it was at a music festival, so the ticket was not only expensive but they were also sold out before I heard about Peggy being there. I've already missed him twice, I'll go next time for sure!
