You should...I find that door to door is expensive and very restrictive...I shipped half a container with a door to door service and it was expensive compared to shipping my own container. The door to door service is useful for when you want to ship items that you won't get duty exemptions on...but I guess duty is free at Lome right?

Listen to the video; she took three days in Australia 🇦🇺 to loads it, they give her a week, in ghana 🇬🇭 she got it the same night and off loaded it right away at her home, she had already made arrangement to do that and returned the container that same night to the port so she can get her refund back! She explained it very well! Thank you,

Great information. I watch your channel from time to time and you are always detailed and concise 👍🏾 Quick question, what is considered personal effects? If one was to buy an item here and did not use it with the intention of using it in GH would that be taxed or would be exempt at the port?
Anything you import with the intention of using personally... (for yourself or family within your home) regardless of being newly purchased or already used. You won't be taxed if its new... in a box etc as long as its considered 'for personal use. Anything for your business, or for resale is not considered personal effect..hope this helps 👍🏾
It's crazy why they'd tax the new mattresses or new fridges cos the gov't banned importation of used fridges and stuff to stop the dumping and the effect of old appliances on the grid. So, if as a result of that people buy new stuff and ship, why shouldn't that enjoy the exemption? Crazy, this.
