Just a fun one this week. When I first heard Josue Avila sing, I thought to myself, whoa, this guy is made for ballads! And when heard this version of I Sing Praises, I immediately knew that if I sped the track up a little, the basic groove I play here would fit like a glove.
You know, my favourite music is smooth jazz. My favourite bass player is Melvin Lee Davis. My favourite playstyle is slap, but I don't really have the opportunity to use that much. Sadly out of practice, so started to miss notes and fell out of the feel about halfway in...

Nice dude! You've got the double thumb technique! I've tried a few times, but just can't seem to get it right. lol. I have my own way of slapping and popping though. I've never been trained, so I figured many things out on my own. I'm fine with that though. Sounding great dude!

nah I've only got one thumb on each hand. hahaha just kidding. thanks for the many kind comments! hey man, doesn't matter whether you're trained or not - as long as it sounds good it all works! =) i've never been trained either, but to my ears, this way seems to suit my skinny fingers the best so far, at least for slap
