Hi Hilton! Your channel is simply the most soulful Jaguar channel. I watched each of your videos, and I say thank you so much for the work done. Do not abandon the channel, no matter how many subscribers you have, remember people need it. I have XF and there are 3 more in my family. And although I am sad that you sold your Jaguar, I know that love for this brand is stronger than life situations. :)
Would really like to see future content on the channel. Especially driving experience, reliability, ownership experience ect of the everest. As a car lover I like your style of videos and the honesty, irrespective of the vehicle you own at a given time 👌💯.

Hey my brother! I am sad to know your jag is gone but I can understand 1000% on how you feel about having to pick and choose where to drive so that you don't damage your Jag. I purchased a 06 jeep liberty for my daughter which needed some TLC. I have to admit, the times of me driving the jeep, it does have a sort of liberated feeling of not having to watch the road so diligently. I will continue to enjoy your videos even though I will probably not own a ford but who knows. I am here, Enjoy my brother!!

Hi jagfan I've just sold my xf sv8 as well. But now I purchased a 2012 xk rs in French racing blue! Totally love it. I'm having a refurb on the alloys to gloss black and calipers changed to Daytona yellow should look very pretty!. Next up is a quick silver exhaust system. Should sound lovely ! Enjoy your ride too!
It is what it is, it was incredible content. As a jag owner it crossed my mind selling my xfr many times, it has visted the shop more times than all of my previous cars combined. Lucky it's not my daily driver i have an bmw X3 diesel for that, that thing is superb very reliable has only been in for oil changes. I believe a jaguar is just a hobby toy for adults.
Man feels like a betrayal, I'm so sad. But ultimately I think you're right about our roads. Potholes , and all. I personally feel like I'm rolling in corners in SUVs(well some have lower seats than others but) so I particularly don't fancy them . I respect your decision Hilton. Keep going. When I buy a jaguar XF I'll always approach you for some fitments and hopefully you can do jagfan videos

Hi Hilton. Have similar thoughts here too in rural England about wheel damage, some of the roads locally are badly subsided and have bad potholes. You featured my XF on a recent video, it has 20" wheels and low profile tyres, so I'm sometimes a little worried about damage. If you want a cheap Jaguar, get an S type, had one before the XF and it has that Jag feel inside as well as that retro Mk11 exterior look. Have fun with your new SUV, regards Ian

all the best Hilton, speaking for myself I have greatly enjoyed the content over the years. However time marches on ... Jags are like boats, the happiest day is the day you buy it and the day you sell it, but you still always have a soft spot in you heart for them when they are gone. I too went for a SUV when I sold my XF-RS - went for an X5M, probably equally as unpractical in retrospect haha.

Sorry for your decision. I hate suvs and i love Xf looks even if i love my dad's Xe too. Jaguar is a rare and superb car. Good luck with your new ride. Maybe it is confortable or safer but Xf was gourgeous. I have an x type in the family ,my ex x type is driven by my sister now. X type has a better and solid exterior,you can hit it with the foot and it will be ok. Xf has a poor metal of the car. X type has good interrior with nice wood and lether. My dad has only two an 2.0 from 2005 and an 2.2 d from 2009. 2005 was more solid on metal exterior. It is not so stable and sporty on curve roads.
No surprise, Hilton. Really impressed how long you stuck with those 20" wheels. I thought Sth Africa roads must be much better than in NZ. I sold my Jag as well, but only because we moved to a city. A twin turbo diesel jag idling in traffic - short trips - wrong car.
Sad to hear you have let the XFR go. I can understand your decision but I too am not a fan of SUVs. I still have my 2011 XF which I had tuned to 300bhp but have added an XE R Sport AWD to my small fleet. I fitted a tuning kit which has boosted the power to 303bhp. Can you upgrade the led lights on 2009 on the wing mirror and I think you are very brave to do what you've been doing your jaguar xf I have learnt so much from you so thanks for that paul
Yep you can. I did a video on it a couple of times. Easy to do. They just use ordinary T10 bulbs or W5W as they are sometimes called. Wedge bulbs. If the LED one's don't work first time you put them in, pull it out, turn it 180 degrees and see if it works then. Some LED bulbs have single polarity.

Surprised you sold the XFR, thought it would be a keeper after all the TLC you lavished on it! I loved the 'stealth' look of the XFR - looked similar to a regular XFR but with a fantastic V8 engine that had amazing performance and a brilliant sound. Definitely a future modern classic IMO! Good luck with the SUV but somehow I doubt you will develop the level of emotional feeling for it that you get with a Jag! I used to own an X Type - did 200K on mine - the most reliable car I ever owned. The petrol engines were virtually bullet proof but in the UK it was usually corroded sills that finished them off. With the climate in SA doubt you would have that problem.
Dont feel bad for selling your Jag Hilton. I am in the process of getting rid of mine (havnt found a car i want yet). Ive had so many different problems with mine its like "death of a thousand cuts" lol. I may be getting a BMW or Audi instead. Just keep your mod vids coming, just make them on your new car :)
Sorry to hear this, and I confess, I sold my XF and Z4 in June this year and replaced them with a Lexus LC500h. Obviously nowhere near an ideal daily driver! So I also bought, wait for it, a Honda Jazz! This will soak up the punishment UK roads dish out along with the more mundane motoring requirements. When/if I chop in the LC, it will be for an XE, a car I previously owned and loved. Got to say I understand the allure of suv's and they are very much a horse for the course. Good luck going forward, and I, for one, will continue to watch your channel.
A sad day when you let a much loved car go but we do it for a reason . I sold my XF-s for a Range Rover Sport and i love it . Very comfortable and i tend to waft along now instead of charging around like a mad man. I am sure you will love the SUV for different reasons but most of all enjoy it . And keep making the video's, i am here for the long term i am sure there will be plenty you want to do to the new motor !! Thanks for the name shout

Unfortunately all the 2ndbhand one's here have been trashed by their 1st owners So I stayed away from them due to the high repair costs. But man it would be nice to have one that's sorted. I absolutely cannot fault you for your decision based on the conditions of where you live and the ongoing worry and expense of having to navigate (both in route planning and steering action on the road) in so many ways to avoid trouble. What a hassle that must have been. You made a positive decision for YOU, not us. I am sure that you'll be bringing all new content to the channel and giving us all even more confidence in tackling any project, regardless of the type of car/truck that we have in upcoming videos. Hey mate, I also sold my XF 20d Portfolio in August, because of many problems. I got a 2012 CLS 350 CDI instead and im very happy with my choice , even if I am missing the „unique“ feeling when owning and driving a jag.
Sometimes one just needs to try out different brands. My channel has dictated what car I drive for too long now. Many are upset with me but I gotta live and so do you my friend. 😜😊
Hello Hilton, I listened to your theory so as not to miss the opportunity. Fortunately, I have such an opportunity in the form of the purchase of XFR. I think I already know what I'm going to do :-) Out of pure curiosity, is it possible to use fuel at the level of 12-13L?
Yes it is. I was surprised at how frugal it is on the highway. It really all depends on how you drive. My right foot is made of lead and bricks, so I tend to race wherever I'm going. But when I had the cruise control on at 140kph, fuel consumption came down to around 10.5L/100 km which is quite light compared to some of my other cars I've had. I had a V6 Audi which constantly got 13/14 L/100km and that was very heavy in comparison. If you cruise at 100kph, you will find it could even come down to around 8L/100L
Thanks mate. Inwouldnhave gone for an E Pace or F Pace but usually when I buy a car I trawl the web for months until I find that sweet ride with low miles for a good price. This SUV came along as an opportunity I couldn't resist so it was literally a 24 hour decision and the XFR was gone and I had the SUV. It was so fast I'm still shocked going into the garage to realize I now have another car. But yes, next I would probably get an F Pace as I've always wanted one.😊
Oh man, I'm sorry that the XFR is gone. But did you considered at all changing the wheels to 18"? Probably would have made a big difference in the ability to handle bad roads? Or were the brakes on the XFR too big for 18"?

Noooooooo 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I can fully appreciate the background to why you made the decisions you took to get an SUV. In a place like SA and in many other similar countries where the roads are really bad, it makes sense...where as in a city like London where the roads arent wide enough and the pot holes that are caused are often caused because of the incresing number of vehicles as well as the increasing weight of vehicles I cant underatand the sudden surge in these things. Mordern SUVs just take up way too much space on our roads (in London) where the majority are used to take kids to school (even though all kids get free bus travel in London) or to the shops....so yes I deste them 🤣...but in a country like SA, or Asia etc where the country is huge and there are many dust/dirt roads etc these vehicles make perfect sense. Shame to see the Jag go, but great to learn about the checks done over there to the cars ....I've always wondered about the 'nitty gritty' when it comes to vehicle ownership in other countries. Excellent video as always, maybe you'll get another Jag in the future (perhaps some full electric Jag SUV 🤔🤷♂️😉) . I for one won't unsubscribe mainly because I'm a car lover and whatever videos you chose to make I'll always be engaged whether its just to watch or actually learn from (which I did because of your Jag vids). Hi Hilton. As a Jaguar fan, I was convinced I was going to buy an F-Pace, after selling my XFS, but bought a Mercedes CLS, with no regrets. At the end of the day, the decision is yours, as long as you're happy. Keep going, and I suspect you will buy a Jaguar F-Pace which should address your issues. Jaguar for life!
Thanks Errol. I guess if I had decided to sell my XFR without this deal coming up I would have deliberated a bit more as to which car would suit our needs best. It just all happened so fast I didn't have enough time to think about it. So far I'm loving the Ford. It's the first time I've owned one so exciting having something different as I'm sure you have also experienced with your CLS 😊

It's a Ford Everest. I believe its called Endeavour elsewhere in the world. Built on the Range platform its quite rugged but pretty comfy inside and the ride is so smooth and supple. It's not a red light racer, more of a red light runner since acceleration to 60 takes about 3 days, but it's a nice truck and that can go anywhere in comfort 😊
LoL. I actually was eyeing an F Type, but thinking about those wheels and our roads just out me off 🤣. The SUV is really rugged and so far I've been able to drive anywhere without even giving it a 2nd thought 🙃
Totally understand your descision. However: It is sad to see you leaving the jag-sector for the moment. I do hope you come back with either F-Pace or something else. But if roads kill your car, it is time to look around for something else. A Ford SUV . . . well, why not? :)
I know its convenient ... but always sell private. It's so easy. Dealers and the like are the biggest crooks... f pace or E pace is what you should get. Maybe xf with 19 is more forgiving on the roads in SA.

Perhaps that's my next car. This deal was not planned and I wasn't looking to replace my XFR just yet, so there was no car shopping involved. But next time F Pace will be on the list for sure 😉

I regret selling my drop dead gorgeous XJR Supercharged. That thing was a beast. I will surely be selling my Jaguar XFS Portfolio 3.0DS before long. I regret others still. What next? Not sure. Fuel prices are getting crazy.

All the other things I do myself which saves a bit of money and hopefully helps people who want to know. I love watching car revival videos on RU-vid no matter the car. The F-pace is a gorgeous SUV, but it's what we South Africans call a soft SUV. It has low profile tires and large oversized wheels and just doesn't cut it on our potholes roads. Spbfar, this Ford has proven tk be rugged and tough and I've taken it into places I would never have gone with an F-Pace. I basically bought a tool fit for the job. Still, I miss my Jags. I might get one as a second car in the future but for now, the truck serves its purpose

@@carfanfan just the pick up is sold here and small suvs like kuga,puma is bild in Romania. We have only big pick ups like dodge,toyota and small suvs . In Europe engines cc taxes are high.
