I always enjoy watching your videos! You rarely see the 1000Sp in Germany either. My father complained about spare parts even when it was still being built. About 10 years ago the brake line on my old car burst. I couldn't make it to my workshop anymore and quickly drove to a "do it yourself workshop" in my town. I had a conversation with the owner that the new cars all looked like shit and that my father once had a DKW 1000SP and I still have the original brochures for it. The man's eyes widened and he told me, "Come with me"! He opened another workshop and showed me his 1000Sp Roadster!! Color white with red features. A dream!! How small can the world be? He had bought the DKW from a very old lady who was quite wealthy. I asked him if I could quickly get my father to show him the car. I couldn't get them apart for over 2 hours!! Unfortunately, both have now passed away. Keep it up, I like it a lot! Greetings Klaus from Düsseldorf
Wow! That is an incredible story! I am sorry to hear your father has passed, as well as the old gentleman with the 1000sp. But that is amazing he had one!! Thank you for telling me the story, Klaus!
On the Fort Wayne, IN Craigslist, there is a red truck like yours but crew cab, dually, diesel with 115k on it. It's basically showroom quality in and out. They want almost 30k though lol Thought of you when I saw it.
Remember one of those Auto Unions back about the mid eighties here in New Zealand. I was asked to have a look at it, the problem was the accelerater cable was attached properly limiting throttle travel. The odd bit was it had a VW engine installed adapted to the original transaxle. Incidentally I remember my sister had an Auto Union, would have been late seventies, one of the many cars her then husband bought and sold. I was told it was a 700cc 2 stroke, no idea how accurate that description was.
The one without the motor I put in GTI VW motor with all electrical equipment as air inside the radio system updated if was me but I understand it classic car has have original parts for me I would change it
Adjust the rod to where you have 1 inch of free play from the top . I had the same issue awhile back and I just gravity bled it all day also if you have a emergency brake you can use a pre 67 bus master and you won’t have any issues these dual circuits are tough
As excited as I am for Fastback content, Im ever MORE excited for Auto Union content! I see my fastback everyday, but that Auto Union, I need to see that when its done!
My parents owned a 1970 SAAB 99E bad in the late 1970s and it had a freewheel transmission in it. It was a pretty cool car with Bosch fuel injection and 4 wheel disc brakes and beautiful black paint.
Sometimes you've got to make difficult decisions to pave the way for newer & better things ahead! Watching half way around the world, It's More Fun in the Philippines!!!!
Keep up the great work man, excited for all of the cars in the shop. It’s wild you’re only at 22k subs, the content you make and the frequency in which you make it is 1M territory 🤌
