I do not normally feel compelled to comment. But I just wanted to say that this series genuinely warms my heart and is so inspiring. Thank you for putting yourself out there and allowing us to come along with you on your travels. What a beautiful slice of joy and peace on the internet. 💜
I don’t know why but when you were in Blockbuster I cried 😅 it made me feel so nostalgic and I was instantly transported back in time to Saturday nights picking movies with my parents and then getting snacks and having a cosy night in. This was a lovely video ❤
I cried, I just missed seeing you! I stayed at That Campfire Hotel a week before YOU got there ! So happy you got to see Blockbuster and more great sites around Bend, I'm from there, and Love it! Love you so much, always look forward to more from you!
Beautiful! I'm sorry you get anxious driving in America! It can be a lot! I drive on snow pretty frequently - can definitely teach you here in Colorado! Thanks for the nostalgic! ❤️❤️❤️
Nostalgia trip 😍 would love to go to the last ever Blockbuster! I remember walking to my local one at the weekend to get a film to watch and snacks, it was such a treat 📼 love all your solo trips, really inspiring!
Omg driving in the US sounds so scary, being on the other side of the road and the steering wheel on the other side too😳 I’ve been driving for 8 years but I don’t think I’d handle the stress😂😂 you’ve done so well ❤️
Amazing, omg blockbuster!!! I'd love to be able to see other parts of the world. I'm very happy for you, and getting to your New Zealand friend, completely opposite to you.
As an Oregonian, this vlog made me very happy. Hopefully next time you're over our way you can spend more time in the Portland area. You'd love Multnomah Falls and Forest Park! Love you, Mark! xo
Love these solo travels!! 😍 Can't help but get nervous when you're in America going through these massive parks I always think of mountain lions and bears! 🙈🤣 x
Omg I remember going to Blockbuster every Friday night after school and we’d get x6 weekly movies and x2 new releases and people wonder now how I’ve watched so many movies lol also you used to be able to rent PlayStation games! Oh take me back!
Omg Mark I’m a grandma and 73 and this blockbuster has so many happy memories for me ….. when my kids were growing up 3 girls…. We didn’t have lots of money and it was such a treat for my family to go every Friday night and rent movies for the weekend ….. we would also plan our snacks for movie nights such a fun memory thank you ❤
Mark and his New Zealand “friend” makes my heart so happy ☺️ The best duos are the ones where one of them is chronically online and the other hardly even uses internet 😂😂 ie Taylor and Joe, Ariana and dalton, Kim and used to be Pete 😂, etc
I feel very lucky because I actually met mark years ago when he came to a hp event while I was an intern - I didn’t watch him as the time but he’s become such a comforting person in my life I’m so glad I got to meet him!
Have you thought about doing a tips video for solo traveling? For example how you pick the destination, and the research you do beforehand (i.e renting cars, plane fares, hotels, activities). I love these videos!!
Your videos literally help my mental health more than I can say. I'm sure it's the same for many others. You are a truly lovely person and I'm so glad you decided to start making videos. X
You’re so inspiring with these solo travels I’ve always wanted to go to Canada but no one will come with me so I’ve decided (with great anxiety attached) to go this year on my own maybe even film my solo travels so I don’t feel as alone
I honestly love that you're so real about being anxious and scared when traveling, I feel like it makes it a bit easier for people like me who deals with the same sometimes - it reminds me that I can travel and do things I'm scared of, and that I don't have to do it perfectly. Thank you for always being real, Mark ❤️
Hi Mark I'm a 65yr lady that doesn't get out much because of my health I 💙 watching how excited you get it's like seeing the world through a child's eyes brings back memories of taking my nephews niece and how excited they would get Thanks for the memories 🤗🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍😁
So proud and happy for you Mark. Was great to see you and your friend. I watched this and was smiling all the way through, well once you’d gotten over the first night. You really are doing well even driving in America and in the dark when you don’t know your way around yet. 😘😘😘😘🥰
I’m SO excited for this because your in Oregon!!! I’m born & raised in Portland. I’ve watched your videos for years & love you & Zoe. The fact your in my home state & geeking out over how beautiful it is warms my heart because it’s one of the reasons I love this state. I hope to get to England one day ❤❤❤
It was awesome seeing inside a Blockbuster again! The LAST BLOCKBUSTER!!! I have good memories of it, too, roaming the isles looking for the next movie.❤ You’re doing it right, Mark! Living life to the fullest. Being a positive light for yourself and others. Taking your time with love. Pursuing your dreams. I’m happy for you. You blasted my ears off with that last minute of song in the vlog…but it was a GOOD GOOD song (and I probably had my sound turned up too high…hahaha!)😅 Take care, until next time.🤩💗
WOW WOW WOW MARK!!!! you are doing INCREDIBLE things on your own! like how.the.hell. do you do it? The things you did in this trip like.... I am gobsmacked 🤣 even just the driving in America!! when it's snowing! and a long journey... wtf. You are amazing. AMAZING. You can do anything.
Mark!! I love you & your love for nostalgic childhood memories. Last night I got lost on Instagram 80's/90's toys that I had when I was little. It's so crazy the memories & even the smells you can remember from when you were little! Seeing you at Blockbuster brought back so many good memories with my Dad who passed away this last October. Thank you so much for sharing that with us, you make the world a better place! I also just came out as Bisexual which you have always helped inspire me to just be myself! Again thank you so much for this & just being you!!💙💜🌈
I can't lie the blockbuster montage from in the store actually made me so emotional. so many memories I think for everyone and just a reminder of things that are gone and that will be gone forever one day, im happy but sad at the same time watching 💔thank you so much for your solo travel vlogs mark, they remind me that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and that even if you're alone its not a reason to miss out on the things you want to experience in life. thank you, what a lovely video ❤
Your videos are so good and so honest and “real” your excitement is contagious your fears / anxiety we all can relate to we all need a Mark Ferris in our lives Just love all that you do Mark and look forward to the next one !
Mark, next time you are in the States & near North Carolina I would love to show you around! You would love it here. We have the best of both worlds, the beach at one end and mountains at the other! I think we would have a BALL! 💐🤗
I am a really nostaligic person. Weird because my childhood wasnt the greatest. I think extermely nostalgic people must be wired a certain way 🤔 My fave films to rent as a kid were Homeward Bound and Hocus Pocus! 😆
Mark you’re so genuine with all of us, it’s just so refreshing to watch you being your authentic & amazing self wherever you are! Love your solo trips! It makes me feel much better about my solo travels coming up soon but also to see you thriving & enjoying life like you deserve! You’re the best friend we all wished we could’ve have had our entire lives! Blockbuster’s always gold & the memories of what are we going to rent growing up with my family & friends is everything because I used to do this & lost my dad years ago so it’s little things like this that remind me of those times too but I love seeing you in Oregon loving life! Thank you for taking us with you on your travels! Such an amazing trip & the scenery! It’s like being there with a best friend whenever you post, anything! So awesome to see you happy! ☺️🙏🏻❤️
being a 90s kid Blockbuster is it! I remember every Friday my dad would take us to Blockbuster on the way home and every week me and my siblings would argue over what movie to rent and then we'd also get to pick our snacks. I'd love to go to the last ever block buster standing. Such a nostaglic trip!
Mark! ❤ You are so in the right to be terrified after San Francisco! Literally Ive lived there, NIGHTMARE! It’s notorious for being a terrible major city to drive in. Easily the worst city I have ever driven in! Im so sorry it scared you but promise nothing will be worse 💕 Safe Future Travels!!!
Another great solo trip and glad you took us along with you! Love the scenery in Portland(on my bucket list) So happy you got to meet up with your friend. Thanks for sharing with us and take care!!
Loved this video, very nostalgic, with the blockbuster store . I miss this we stores aswell. Always a weekly tradition in our family. Oregon looks so beautiful and the landscapes are stunning. Here’s to more solo trips ! Thanks mark ❤
I love your solo travels. It’s given me more confidence to do things without other people. And now I’m planning to move across the country by myself. You’ve helped me learn to trust myself and be able to do scary things.
I am so excited! I'm off to Bend this weekend just for a quick trip (1 day) and I've been thinking about where to stay and the Campfire looks so fun! I might have to stay there! And maybe pop over to blockbuster for a little look see. I loved seeing this trip! You were just 4.5 hours away from me!
you’ve been such a massive inspiration to me on my solo traveling journey! i leave in 3 weeks to backpack europe and I’m so excited ❤️ thank you for your videos, love!
Definitely a silent watcher here! Never comment but always LOVE your videos, I’m wondering if you have any tips for solo travel, I’m getting a flight in a week alone for the first time, I’m staying with my sister once I get to Spain but I’ve never flown alone
It’s so cool seeing you in my home state, especially Portland where I live. I love seeing things I recognize and you getting excited about them, I hope you enjoyed it here :)
In the 90’s My boyfriend and i would practically live at Blockbuster. The joy of looking round the whole store and choosing your movie then deciding on your snacks was just the best. We would literally run back to his for movie night ! It seemed to never get boring ha ha ha … 25 years later he is now my husband and we still adore movie night !!!. ❤
Loved this vlog Mark ❤ I remember when I was a child (am now 36!) and me and my sister were in the fish and chip shop in our local town and my mum opened the door of the fish and chip shop and just yelled across to me and my sister, ‘I’LL BE IN BLOCKBUSTERS!’ 😅 me and my sis still say it to each other now so watching this vlog was so nostalgic. The scenery was so beautiful and the music choices too. X
