It was my first cat in 1982 and I had it for 12 years before I passed it on to my brother in law. It was 80% body filler and fiberglass by that point :)

Always amazes me, although not in this instance, how many "second keys" become conspicuous by their absence. Gone are the days when you could pop into a local key cutter and get another for under a tenner. Now you are looking at an eye watering amount, and in some case, more than the wretched car. So look after them.😀😀😀

Yet more great content, honest always pays in all walks of life and especially in the motor trade, the bad ones may have their day but they tend to be one year wonders-their dodgy reputation spreads like Covid. I have a friend who like you operates a small car dealership who has been in business for approx 19 years and is always busy-most importantly he keeps his customers, I have known whole families who always buy from him time after time. Older cars will always be slightly more to tax and a little heavier on fuel, but on the flip side you don't have the double whammy of monthly PCP payments and massive depreciation. The sweet spot is something 10 to 12 years old with low mileage and full service history that's done all it's depreciating. These are always the best value for money.
@@matthewgodwin3050 Very true. My 2005Mondy 2L Duratec is £300+ for VED but how much is an equivalent car today for comfort and load carrying? I paid £10,000 in 2006 so know it inside out. Keep you old car and save the planet.
The Fusion will need a timing belt at that mileage, they're due at 100k or 10 years and are never done. The rumbling is most likely the idler pulley as they are replaced at the same time as the belt so only last that long.
Great video, only other thing to be aware of with fusion, they sometimes have a fan sensor fault. this shows up after driving when you switch off and the fan carries on running for a couple of mins after. known this to come up with two fusions. Having said that fusions are a really great car. I've known to be good for a lot of people. ideal for small family as just that bit more space. I wish they hadn't stopped making them.
The fan running after you turn the engine off isn’t a fault. If the coolant is still hot the fan is supposed to run. That’s why there is a warning label on the fan housing. On some Fiats the fan starts after you stop the engine.
Had my Spark for 6 years now, got it on 23k miles it's now just clocked 74k. Only had a thermostat housing in that time apart from general maintenance. Love the thing, it just works.
@@davidquinn5906 only thing I'm nervous about is the clutch pedal recall, it had it done years ago but it's developed a squeak in the last year and there's plenty of reports of them still snapping off even after the recall work has been done, and trying to source a pedal box seems to be a bit of a ballache..
I agree , my Colt sadly has EPS and compared to my old Saxo from years back you can tell the difference theres sometimes no feeling in the steering and it gets very heavy at slow speed and too light at high speeds i do not like EPS

Be very surprised if the spark is pressurizing enough for the pressure to escape via the seam of the bottle instead of the cap. The cap should be the weakest link so there may be some hope 🤞 You've got to wonder why it's building up so much pressure in the first place though...
Had a few mgtfs mate and they'd split the bottle, on the spark they'll have tried a new cap, be head gasket, it'll be pressurising and blowing out the cap relief valve, oh dear.
@@Jinxer121 it'll be the head gasket for deffo, that's why it was in there, yes sealants sometimes work, unfortunately usually not, Ive used steel seal and that's about the best.
Nice cheap cars james .Not particularly keen on the chevy I prefer the fusion though.This Foŕd fusion is probably due a cambelt replacement plus tensioners very soon.
I'm.sorry to hear you think the Fusion grumble is a bearing because mine after it's vambelt service is making the same noise at only 56000imiles. I will be then interested at your outcome on this . Fusions are generally excellent and as commented previously a top used buy in Germany
Cant comment on the Spark. The Fusion is the wrong one to buy. Its a petrol! The diesel is the one to go for as they're economic, reliable and have good carrying capacity if you need to move furniture. I`ve had two and would have another in a heartbeat if the mileage was right. The only problems with mine were the copper injector seals were leaking so bargain hard to get the price down. I did and fixed them myself! Dead easy job which you could do in a day or so.
i feel the fusion will sell well due to dog size boot, err whats with the morris / austin ital not seen one of those in years you holding out on us chops and sneeking into cheap classics hope the sales of both cars go well with some profit.

They know how to stick it to us mate, all that money for that spark, it's basically scrap until the heads (and if) done, proper nightmare, once bought a mondeo ghia x from bca brighouse, blew up, seized about 3 miles down the road, blocking trafic, a guy pulled up in a transporter said if it's for free he'll remove it, that was that, all gone.
I don't think you (or I) go overboard on prep, you just know whst needs to be done to get a sale and the car to be fit for purpose, it's so hard to do as is, people won't accept the slightest fault as a general rule unless it's just above scrap money.
Alright dude 👍 was there a scuff on the nsr bumper corner of the Spark? May have been bird poop 🤣 if I remember the Fusion was listed as clutch issues... Result there mate!

The Soark aint that got some Engine in it thats used in Suzukis ? I heard they use some old reliable engine similar to how Fiat still uses the fire engine thats like 30 years old in the new Panda ?
@@davidquinn5906 Ahs i may get a Spark i like them they have character and i definitely doubt the head gasket is bad on it , maybe just thermostat or something like air getting into the radiator system as its not a Corsa lol
BCA owns We Buy Any Car (we've all seen the trusted Schofield Ads) so it's no surprise there's probably going to be something dodgy with the shrapnel they sell
Itals, allegros, marina, maxis were my usual trade when I started selling cars, you'd get calls saying the suspension (hydragas) has gone down on that all agro you sold me, whatcha going to do about it?
If you still insist on bca on line bud, check the vendor, you want proper main agent p exs, not wbac, used to be called cc trade at bca, then your in with a chance, if that sparks wbac it's like 600 quid to them, punt it out to you for nearly 2k,good business for them, private seller sold it to them due to head gasket, Aston barclay have their own buying service too, most have got faults tbh, I don't think you can really trust the auction to be honest about the vendors anyway.
I don't really understand the air conditioning dilemma, 9 time's out of 10 it's only a regas needed, and pre 2017 cars take the old type gas which is around £50 and after 2017 take the new environmentally friendly gas which is £120 or so. No disrespect intended because I admire your honesty as a dealer, but if I bought a used car that had air conditioning I'd expect it to work, one could argue that it provides safe driving in that it keeps windows demisted in the winter, wouldn't it be a bit like saying the cars got a heater but it might not work?.
Well Im not sure why Id take offence as I took the car back willingly due to the fault. It had been regassed so a bigger fault. Its fine to sell non functioning as long as you dont list it as a feature as I did at sale.
Sure that fusion was a old work colleagues car from Barry South Wales who retired a few years ago .. unfortunately passed away 2021. He looked after all his cars very well but always bought fords .
Tell us why it's so important to have the two keys when you can only ever use one. I think it's a car dealer scam to give less money part exchange. Bet you don't have a decent answer. Can you tell us why.
At Aston barclay now they're locking the cars up so you can't have a play, bought a corsa today but no chance to check under the bonnet, hope it changes or that's a real downer, if your buying at auction mate you need to go to a physical one, even then its difficult, buying cheapies on line will put you out of business mate tbh. If your doing that only go for proper main dealer cars, also your just chucking in low bids so probably all your going to get are low reserve faulty cars, I've been buying since the late 80s and it's a minefield, factor in very high prices and high fees, also delivery for you it's a tough call, notice your checking air con now after your mitsui debacle!
I just brought my 2 first cars from BCA online all with green checks. Drove the 2009 fiesta 1hour & 30 mins home soon as I turned the ignition off on my drive all the coolant poured out every where. Got the corsa delivered & the engine is super ticky loud noise. Wasted 3grand which his all I have in the buisness haha 😂 deffo not buying online again
@@mzworldd8794 sounds about right mate, I bought a fiesta at auction the other week, fsh, low miles, head gone, their favourite seems to be nice looking but running faults that you can't suss out on a few minutes inspection, it's all wrong that they can just totally do you like that.

James I know you don’t believe it or listen. But I told you a couple of years ago what to buy ( I have been doing this since I was 14 I am now 47 ) I am Mr motor trade I have been a trader I have been an auctioneer ( the knob on the rostrum ) and I have been all over retail for 20 years. I don’t work for myself because of life circumstances ( women ) shall we say. FORD FUSION ????? Mate learn from this one. And try to avoid the auction. Loads of stuff in auto trader just look at the fairly cheap dog eared stuff bid it in the knackers and detail the life out of it. But you have to be up early and straight on it. You can pay a bit more and spend a bit more time because of what you saved on fees. And nobody wants to buy of a private these days unless they are in the know. So being a retailer don’t be afraid to ask a bit more xxx
You keep championg these cheap makes bud but I've had a few so called chevys and they've been cr*p, you've got 2,one with a bad box and other with a bad head, I've got a poor running one, I'll deffo not buy anymore.
@@ChopsGarageone of your subs helped me and said my spark miss fire is injector, fuel trim is all over, no codes showing, will look into it, when it's done I'll be saying on video how great they are!
Might be better sticking to dearer stuff bud, cheapies hzve had it if there's bug problems, OK if you can fix yourself but paying another Garage knocks them out, your certainly not going to get your 1500 quid across those and your a bit soft with come backs on bangers mate, you'll be giving a scrapper 6 mths warranty, ha, ha
