This video (and specifically around 2:30) actually really helped me during a recent Dorado ranked game (iirc, it was either a plat 1 or diamond 4/5 lobby). I was on Mercy and I asked our soldier to go out the right door with me to get to the high ground because i wanted to contest it and try to take early map control, and they agreed! we did get rolled because several enemies were there BUT the off angle and distraction helped our team so much ☺️ i was so grateful for this video and for my teammate who was willing to go on a flanky flank with me!
every time i’m playing, after a team fight is won i now constantly hear emongg in my head saying “dont stand on payload. dont just stand there after a team fight is won.” 😂
this is smth i recently learned from a friend thats played overwatch since the first, theres a bit of a "holding air" mechanic when u hold down the jump button, which would theoretically give enough boost to reach that high ground they were struggling with at the beginning i feel like its smth most ow1 players just instinctively know they forget to mention it when teaching ppl starting with ow2 (my friend had to see me fail 5 jumps before it clicked to him to tell me to hold space lmao)
that is not true, there isn't a mechanic like that but with sojourn specifically you jump higher if you jump before slide and then immediately jump after slide, then you can get on top of dorado highgrounds
@@knyt0 fair enough i was doing it w illari so might be different w soujourn, and specifically practicing getting to highground w her jump, and sure enough if i just tap space button (which im used to with other games) while doing the jump im just a bit off, but if i hold it, i gain enough height, ive done it w other charas as well like w lw petal super jump tech to make distances i usually wouldnt be able to, as well as some junkrat mine jumps, so i assumed it was for all heroes but i dont play a lot of soujourn so i could wrong for her
I've found the jump mechanic to be based a little off momentum. The faster you are moving. The higher you can jump. Like If you jump off petal before it hits full height, you will get a small boost. Or lucio speed boost can get you bigger jumps if you use the forward momentum with the jump. Bap jumps slightly higher if you hold crouch to build a full jump, walk a step or two, then jump.
If I had a nickel for everytime we spectated a sojourn that struggled to get high ground on dorado, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice right?
As a console player I see the biggest problem. Low sensitivity on Dualzone aim technique with 99%-100% aim smoothing + 90 fov what we have to deal with.
This game is the just warfare. Like it is chaos when someone doesn't watch this game, but everything in life is about control. I know people care about stats, but a lot of stats that win the games aren't tracked.
I had a game a few days ago where our zen was spawn trapped by th enemy sombra the whole second round but the difference between the two teams was to much for them to capitalize.

I’m gold 4 dps and gold 5 support and not to toot my own horn, I’m actually pretty good on support, almost always getting most heals and tons of assists, yet I always win 4 to 5 games and loose the exact same so I’m stuck in gold 5. And it’s annoying bc I watch these videos and I’m definitely not at their level (no offence to them ofc). I’m just super excited for next season so the win 5 games to rerank goes away, it’s been keeping me from going up bc my teammates are very interesting let’s just say lol. And even when I’m damage I’ve had games where I got 70 kills, 50 kills but then my support isn’t even healing at all, the amount of times I’ve had Ana’s with 1k heals and 2k damage 😭
