I got the rod and shovel on my first day so not too bad but i hope the net appears soon 😅 also i forgot this one had the sling shot but also is it really that useful in this one? Also I think the slow walk is locked to the touch screen controls?
me and my friends did that in new leaf, so one of our favourite quotes from it was “you can’t put a fish in a letter!” as that just contradicts putting furniture in your pockets 💀
@@wuzittooyayeah I used to be like that too. For whatever reason I remembered NL villagers being rude and sassy but when I revisited it they were kinda stale. Not nearly as bad as NH though
I'm 15 minutes in, but I feel like this video could be described as: "and then I feel in a hole". Wild World was my introduction to Animal Crossing, I owe this game a lot for that. It's also why Kabuki is one of my favorite villagers, and why I love the crankies in general! Back in the day, I was playing Wild World and I had Angus. I didn't like him at first, but he got sick. Back then, if a villager got sick they'd stay sick for multiple days. One day when I brought him medicine he cried and said he didn't deserve friends like me. Kabuki was another Wild World friend of mine, who gave me a present on my birthday, and also pinged me once just to talk about a design I had made at the Able Sisters that he was wearing. It's been years since then, but those are still fond memories for me. One of my favorite K.K. songs is K.K. Ragtime, simply because I feel like I heard it all the time in villager's houses in Wild World, so it's very nostalgic to me. Also, describing Dotty as the "first cool villager we've gotten" is rude, as you have Stitches. He's a literal teddy bear and one of the coolest villagers imo!
Wild world was the first animal crossing Game I played too!! I cant really remember the villagers I had, I was so young omg, but I also remember when New Leaf came out, I got It a month after its release, and I remember just becoming best Friends with Merengue. Flashforward to now, in new horizons, Merengue came back when I was villager hunting 🥺🤍 Also my favourite songs are Bubblegum KK and Animal City!
Same here! Wild World introduced me into AC and what can I say? I have every single game except for the gamecube (hopefully I can find and buy it soon though to complete my collection). I do not remember much, as I was really young at that time but I remember how it made me feel. At home my siblings used to ignore me most of the tiems so I had to learn to be on my own. AC and the villager were the first "people" that were able to make me feel not alone and welcome, even when they bullied me for 10 minutes because I forgot to save :'D. I found comfort in this video game series like in no other. Melba stole my heart due to her personality and even the grumpies have a special place in my heart! I loved the time I played with friends in New Leaf and were no one gave a shit about how the villagers looked like. With New Horizons that changed and it suddenly became a trend to hate on "ugly villager". I think I can speak for all the veteran players: Grow up. Its not about looks. Never was. (sorry for the rant here lmao) No, but my heart really fills with joy to see so many veteran players that share the experiences in one way or another like I did!
When it comes to Lyle you either have to immediately jump back into your house, or try to run for it - he'll chase you but he eventually gives up and just waits outside your house which is a repeat of running, just into your house. Became a bit of a hobby to outrun that man when I played Wild World and I even got good at baiting him by getting close enough to get him to start chasing again. Edit: I love how you finally realised after being scammed so many times by Lyle, sucks you got scammed first but it was fun to watch.
@Twaffie I think he just gave him the DS for the sake of making the video flow better. Most likely he just sent the save file to his friend. It is possible to temporarily transfer the save file back to an original DS, it just seems unlikely.
I remember this being my first AC game and I remember not knowing how this game works and overthinking when asked where I’m going. I literally put in “zur Stadt” which means “to the city” in german and so that was the name of the city and a meme between me and my childhood friends
I first started playing Animal Crossing: Wild World when I was 9 or so and it was my first game, too. I was on a camping trip with my family, so when Kapp'n asked where I was going, I put "Home" and that was the name of my first Animal Crossing town. It's such a bittersweet memory 🥺❤
That is the exact island layout I poured my life into as a kid! Apollo was my only villager on the mini island at the bottom. That game made Apollo and Punchy my absolute favourites Fun fact there was a bug where if you forced turnips to sit on a table by dropping something on the floor then dropping the turnip, they would never spoil. I used to have a room dedicated to waiting for big money!
Flea market legit was the OG I’m so mad it’s gone. We would catch a ton of expensive beetles and fish and fill our house with it, then you sell them for twice what nooks cranny buys them for. It can’t be over twice the amount or they’ll say it’s too high
The recycling bin, fishing, and the lost and found (the castle at the top of the town) always had nice goodies when I played the game when I was younger. I started playing again recently and I still do this as my tried and true method. Sometimes the letters helped cuz you can sometimes trade up with the items you send the villagers or get the other fruit available in the game (there's a really good guide online for letter writing by Thonky). I miss the red turnips, wish ACNH brought them back T T
Wild World was my introduction to the franchise several years ago and honestly super nostalgic. I love how much personality each villager has and their... Brutally honest statements. 😂
Fun Fact: Bees don't spawn in Wild World until the first time you enter your home. However, bells and furniture still will. I don't know if there's a day reset on this that you can abuse, but you can get yourself a good starter amount of bells and two furniture items to sell right from the get go.
I love Wild World so much :) I really enjoy these long videos where you fully explore the games :) WW has its drawbacks but the villagers were great in this game, and when you got the upgrades on the shop and your house you really felt like you earned them lol
This video was honestly very sobering to listen to, as I go through my island on ACNH for the last time to grab what all items and flowers I want to send off to a friend's world for temporary reprieve before resetting it all, erasing the island I created nearly three years ago to this day, alone in my apartment, sitting at what was supposed to be a very temporary workspace as the pandemic ran amuck. It's chaotic and painful, breaking down what I spent so much time building up and the memories it all brought me, but admittedly weirdly cathartic, much like it seems like returning to Wild World was for you. Ty for the awesome video :)
Wild World was my gateway drug into games. Admittedly, years after I stopped playing I researched all the cheats and learned about the box duplication glitch. To be perfectly honest, the glitch took the fun out of the game, since it moves too slowly and there are no stakes when you're rich
I’m so sorry Luke didn’t pull through for you, I could feel your pain through the screen 😩 Still, I really enjoy these videos and your channel, especially since I’ve been here since your third or fourth vid! Excited to be able to say I knew you when!
A little frustrated with Luke for not doing anything useful during those days you were gone… I personally would have been fine with you taking a break while you were in vacation and coming back after 🙂
also, I love the TV with VCR item because I actually have one of those in real life. I sometimes play GameCube Animal Crossing on it just to get that old feel. My TV's screen is barely taller than a VHS tape box, so it's a really small TV, but I just love the vibes. I'm going to age myself a bit here, but I remember as a kid being jealous of all my classmates who were getting DVD players when that was the hot new technology, but since everything was still being released on VHS as well as DVD- and we didn't have the money for a DVD player- we just. kept getting things on VHS. There's something special about this old TV, not sure how to describe it other than nostalgic.
100 days for the rest of the games but I wanna see 200 days and more for many of the games that don't get paid off within 100 days because I wanna see more from these games as I'm a new fan, I wanna see villager behaviours, different things evolve, and even how far debts go in these games so that I could plan out how to play them properly to get best enjoyment
this was my first animal crossing game so i didn’t know what to expect, i played it when i was really little, when kapp’n asked where you were heading i wrote ‘hotel’ thinking it was going to put me in a hotel, now my town is called ‘hotel’ and i wont ever change it
Bro did the flea market all wrong smh. As a young child I learned you throw seashells and fruit all over your floor and sell them for over 1k a pop to your dumb villagers
I just started playing wild world, and it's fun. I'm actually trying to get my 3ds to work again so I can play on it. (My DS lite had a broken hinge and a red tint on the screen. My 3ds has a broken ribbon cable)
Loving this series! I’m glad you decided to pump the brakes on bell collecting by shutting your focus to enjoying the game and it’s charming features. Helps you feel like your experience is more rich and rewarding
Not trying to hate but it kinda sucks watching an hour long video where I was seriously curious how far you'd get and you just gave up half way through. Like yeah, enjoy the game but don't set a goal at the start to get the upgrades then change at the end making everything else kinda pointless.
Dude, if you get like a good day on turnips, why don't you just sell a certain amount instead of going all in? That way you still get a bit of a return
Your videos are so fun to watch, especially these 100 days videos. I'll eagerly await City Folk! And I bet your grass will be utterly dissolved by the end of it!
It's great to see people playing the older games. They still have a lot to offer! 😊 I started playing WW last year, and it took *months* to pay off the house loan! The game is brutal, but the villagers and NPCs are probably the best they've ever been. It's a pity you spent so much time obsessing over making money in this and Population Growing, since socializing is where the games really shine.
I actually found this game trying to find mysims at cash America and lucked out cause it was $7 when retail was still $30. I played the hell out of that game and transferred my villager to city folk when it released. It was the best recommendation an CA employee ever made.
As a kid my sister and I always shared games even tho we had separate ds systems, when we got animal crossing and learned we could interact with each other on our own systems using separate games we BEGGED our dad, the next time we saw him there was a new copy of wild world on the bookshelf in our living room, I found out awhile later that it was my step mom who thought it was so cute we wanted to play together that she went out and bought a copy so we both had one each, 😢 kinda miss her dude she passed this year and I feel like playing wild world is gonna hit me so hard when I pick it up again
I know this sounds kind of "optimize the fun out of it", but would it not work to leave the upgrades for day 90 or so, and spend the rest of the time focusing on just playing the stalk market ir trying to acquire cash as a whole?
You didn't take advantage of the fishing enough. Fishing was highly lucrative in WW. Idk how it is in the other games besides the Gamecube one and wild world since I haven't played any others yet, but I was a professional fisherman... lmao. I think it was a creative approach to try and use the stalk market to pay your debt off though. I think if you just re-invested your earnings back into the stalk market every week you might have payed all your debt off. But like you said, the game is most enjoyed when you're not stresing about the money, but just enjoying the company of the vilagers and improving your town. Very relatable first playthrough... and maybe a little bittersweet.
If I had a nickel for every person I know whose birthday is on Christmas, I would now have two nickels. That’s not a lot but it’s funny that it happened twice. 5:12
Love your content man! I'm a big animal crossing fan aa and WW back in 2005 Was my first experience with the game 😔♥️ I mean legit no hate at all But the song mash up at ~ 8:00 Is super distracting because the times don't fit together at all Not a huge issue at all ofc
Did... Luke KNOW what the purpose of him playing for you on these 7 days was? 😂 I wouldn't blame you for having been upset with him, that was surprisingly unproductive ngl lol
Wild World started my dive into the franchise. And man was it incredible! Used to stay up late on school nights with my sister visiting each others towns. What I would give to be a kid again
Wild World was my first AC game, as with many others. I love this game, and still check up on my island, but I think my game was bugged. No matter how much I bought and sold, I never got an upgrade for Nook's place, even though I spent and sold over 300K, AND got the model. I would still love to know why this happened.
“i didn’t want to risk anything happening to my DS like it breaking while traveling..” two seconds later: * *just fuckin THROWS DS on luke’s front door…* *
the end reminds me of how I took my brother and sister's wild world and city folk, they shared the town together and it was so weird to look at this town, abandoned but with so much potential. They don't really remember playing those animal crossing games but it was fun. Same goes for the gamecube one (population:growing!) my dad, sister, and brother shared the town and to see this town abandoned for so long, it was weird but I understood we all need a break from something sometimes we all need to find other things and I hope one day they can maybe go back to these old towns and see what they left behind. maybe they can pick up their controller/ds and see the memories captured in the towns, almost like a camera.
this was my 1st exposure 2 animal crossing as a kid n i adored every bit of it ! it rlly is bittersweet looking back on those memories . thank you 4 the vid , i enjoyed it thoroughly !!
😂 Dressers have storage….you don’t have to keep turnips in your pocket….and some of those seashells you ignore are worth a lot. If you shoot down a flying saucer, it’ll crash in your town and you can help the alien fix their ship. My museum got huge….fossils, then plants, then art gallery.
The easiest way to get money is to get a fruit from another town and plant it, they sell for 500 bells each which means 66 trees will make you 100,000 bells each harvest
i’m a year late buuut if you ever attempt to do a 1 year of wild world run, there’s a glitch where if you place turnips on tables inside your house they won’t ever rot. so you can wait for those big profits without worrying hehe
For storage, I would just keep some opened letters on the right side of the pockets. There, I would put my tools, outfits, and other things. That way, I could carry a lotttt more!
When i play WW, i usually send my villagers a lot of mail with the local fruit in it, that way i got a ton of random furniture and other stuff by investing 140 bells each (a 4pack of paper is 160 iirc and the fruit sells for 100). Other stuff i loved to do was planting and crossing flowers for more insects to catch, growing a lot of foreign fruit (by replacing most of the fruitless trees, so i knew where a save spot to grow them was), filling up the museeum, and failing at fishing. A lot. Why is fishing so hard?
Surprisingly, even though I like games like Animal Crossing, I've never actually played Animal Crossing. It's a interesting game, but it's not really simple to play
