Wanna know more? here's the follow-up interview! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T_UNk7e97XQ.html **Have you ever lost a pet? Leave a comment and join the discussion** HUGE Love and thanks to the Patreon crew for making it possible for me to dedicate nearly a YEAR to a single project~
I haven't had any of my pets get *lost* per say, but I have a cat that likes to sneak out of the house and back in, and a turtle that is still tiny and gets in any space you think it *won't* be,. So they're not lost, just resting in very unique places 😅
Our dog got out of the yard and ran away overnight when I was a kid. We still lived in a pretty rural area so my dad and I took the car (a big 80s sedan) and drove over to an undeveloped subdivision near ours: no houses yet but roads were all poured. For some crazy reason he decided to go overland, but the car got hung up on a drainage culvert thing. I was about 8 years old and couldn't help. Out of nowhere a young guy and gal in a pickup truck drive up and ask if we need help. The guy and Dad are trying to move the car when the girl says, "oh what a cute dog!" & Here comes our dog running right up to us. It was a very weird turn of events but very glad we got her back. 💜
I thankfully haven't lost a pet but I wouldn't know what I would do if I had as I don't even think a pet detective would exist here in England. Guess that's also a reason as to why I wont get a cat, feel like they can go missing a lot easier than dogs.
Yes, my dog used to run away all the time. it was awful. luckily never overnight as i always found him. he loved the sound of my dads quad bike so just driving around the area with it guaranteed he'd be back soon 😂
Our boy cat is a chronic escapee. He likes to hide in the bushes in the front of our house or run to the neighbor behind us. All of which make him particularly hard to find as he is a black cat and he mostly slips out at night. We bought a red flashlight that's advertised as a predator light. It reflects back his eyes when he's hiding and we've been able to get him back every time. This discovery was after that time he was gone for 4 days and I designed, printed, and went door-to-door to post over 150 missing posters on the coldest nights on the year...but then he came back when we left his litter box in the garage...🤦♀️
That would be SO exciting, they could totally start by shooting in the car and using cat footage with voice over to begin. Although having someone with Norm’s expertise and editing would be ideal. This felt like the beginning of another offshoot from Tokyo lens. ❤
@@halomerc5423 it definitely takes a special kind of person to do it. Toyama-san even said she dreams about all of the pets that are still out there that they're searching for 😔
how cute she is even trying to find the pets in her dream. What kind-hearted team. Thank you Norm for introducing us to this surprising job and these super-humans
Superhuman is the least one could say, Toyama was working hard for 12 hours+ that's a lot of working hours. And they're all extremely passionate about the job as well, I can't give them enough praise for their job.
Being a cat owner myself I can completely understand the worry with a pet going missing. Excellent work by such a dedicated team of people, loved the video Norm!
What an insanely unique and meaningful job they have! And the dedication needed to actually get these pets back home, to the point of dreaming about them so frequently. I have utmost respect and admiration for the kind-hearted team ❤
As a pet owner myself, I can definitely feel the connection they have with wanting to help others find their lost pets. They're doing an amazing job too, it seems. Big massive respect for everyone involved ^-^
You can see the kindness & care in each action Mr Fujiwara(and his team) takes. It’s amazing his bond with animals formed from that run away experience in his adolescence, and that he’s continuing it in the form of a job(where he tries to reunite them w/ their family) so many years later 💙 It was so heartwarming to see Elsa found & reunited w/ her owner 😭
Wait... PET DETECTIVES ARE REAL?! I feel like a part of my childhood just came back alive knowing that the Jim Carrey movie wasn't completely fiction! Seeing Fujiwara's relief and hearing him talk about being able to sleep at night after finding their cat, and then their reaction to having her back home, was so heartwarming! You can really tell how much he loves his job and how it's 100% passion and kindness behind it.
Man, what a cool ass video. such a cool story to hear about. Those working hours are insane, sure hope they get compensated accordingly, but I'm sure their services are incredibly appreciated. thanks for showing us this story, Norm. Losing a pet is so heartbreaking to even just think about, cant imagine what these owners must feel like and the pet rescue staff, the relief once they are able to catch the pet or the sorrow if they are unable to. I would never be able to handle that much sadness, amazing work done by everybody. Happy Elsa made it back home safely!
I love how dedicated Miss Toyama sounded, she couldn't stop thinking about that lost cat, even in her sleep. I think she was a cat in previous life and now she helps finding cats. Whole detective agency is amazing! Thank you Norm for showing us this. Choice in Music is absolutely brilliant!
This is so cool! I've never lost a pet but definitely have found a few pets by chance. Felt like Disney princess cause most times they came up to me haha Thank you for sharing his story!
As someone who grew up with a lot of pets around and having had to search for missing ones more than once, i kinda really love the idea of these people who make it their job to search for missing animals. In some ways a missing pet can be worse than a dead one because you worry about it. I have great respect for these three people thank you for telling us about them.
This group of pet detectives are amazing! You can feel how important each case is to them and the story with the person grabbing mr. Fujiwara by his throat was shocking! I hope they can expand or get more people to help them by volunteering their time! Amazing video as always!
You just consistently keep opening up new aspects of Japan that I never got to see while I was there. This video was so interesting and totally made me cry 😭
Morning Norm! I understand why you were so pumped for this video. I agree that I didn't know this was a real job, and very excited to see it. Thanks for bringing this to us
Haha indeed. Just yesterday my wife and I were watching the bit when Norm was talking about "theres this job I'm excited to share with you." ...I popped in here to leave a quick comment, got to the title, and had to get the wife. "He posted the job video, and you're not going to believe what it is!" haha
You can really see their passion for finding lost pets! What a unique experience capturing a job like this that most people probably haven’t ever realized even exists. Thank you for sharing with us! ☺️
He has such a cool and mysterious aura to him and seems to take his job very serious. His back story is amazing too. What an incredible man! People like him make me love humanity 🥰
I found myself holding my breath throughout even though I had every confidence that you wouldn’t post a video with a heartbreaking conclusion. The kindness that the pet detectives showed to the owners and animals is incredible. Thank you for sharing and take care! P.S. I keep getting a “Morse” vibe from your music and am loving it!
The amount of compassion and dedication that they have makes each case feel special… how fortunate these pet owners are if their case is taken. Hope they are able to continue this wholesome endeavor now and into the future!
As a pet lover I’ve always had this need to help others find their lost pets, and I’m so happy it’s an actual job in Japan! It shows how much they care about the little ones, which is honestly very wonderful ☺️ And I love how all the cases you covered got resolved!! They’re a very professional and dedicated pet detective team 👏🏽 I hope they end up resolving many more! Thank you Norm for showing us this lovely and interesting side of Japan!!
I love how you always manage to surprise us with new amazing people and their stories! You could tell that they really care about their clients‘ pets. Thank you for bringing us along!
This was heart-warming to watch. Not all stories have happy endings but I'm glad all of these did. Thank you for including the results of the others that were missing towards the end. 👍✌️
This is a VERY interesting video! I don't see a lot of videos on pet cultures &/ treatment in Japan so this is definitely something new. Thank you for sharing!
What amazing dedication they all have and to go from living with strays and lost animals to helping them get home, incredible. Also dude was a silver fox for sure haha.
Oh man... they were so happy to have Elsa back. Actually warmed my heart to see it. Thanks for the wholesome moment Norm! I think we all really appreciate the effort you take to find this kind of new content. Excited to see even more.
This is honestly one of my favorite RU-vid videos now. Thank you for sharing this. I never would've thought this was a real job, and to see the whole team of pet detectives being so passionate about their work it's just something amazing.
Im so glad that this proffesion exists. I wish it were a thing here in sweden to find missing pets. Such nice ppl 🥰 thank you for another good and informative video. Recently though sweden passed though a law that we need to chip all cats incase they get lost. Its a step in the right direction🙌
I don't own a pet right now, but having spent almost all my time growing up with a cat in the house I know how heartbroken I would be if my pet suddenly disappeared. Elsa's owner getting close to tearing up in the beginning definitely hit a chord with me. What a wonderful and meaningful job these people are doing, and seeing them so dedicated to find other people's pets is truly inspiring.
I love this, i am glad there is someone who cares enough to go out of their way and make sure people find their beloved pets. I don't know what I'd do if my cats ran away like that :,( they aren't just pets, they are our friends . Thank you for sharing Norm!!!
I love these little personal and very genuine experiences you seem to be able to find with people. Always intriguing and quickly gets me emotionally invested in whoever you're spending time with.
never knew how much work went into bringing pets home to their owners. The dedication by this team is so admirable and they clearly love animals. Also had no idea that beetles were also an animal that one could hire a service to track down as well and I find that super interesting!
What an amazing job to have. I've never had a pet go missing and I can only imagine how sad and disheartening it is to have happen. I'm really glad Mr. Fujiwara and his team are doing what they're doing. It must mean so much to the people they help.
finally found the time to catch up with the videos now that it's christmas break. this job is so unique and cool! these people are absolutely amazing for going through such lengths to return pets to their rightful homes. you can just tell how passionate they are about their jobs 🥺💞
I know this is unrelated to the video, but I just wanted to say that I just officially got accepted to language school in Japan! I know I've already said this before, but thank you again Norm for being a big help in my decision to officially move to Japan. I look forward to see what you cook up next! 🗾 PS: I edited my original comment on the giveaway to better suit it. Though regardless of the giveaway, I mean what I say. I wouldn't have even made it this far if it wasn't for creators like you showing me why Japan is so great!
The relief on Elsa's owners face when they got her back is so heartwarming! This job existing never even crossed my mind, how rewarding it must feel to be able to reunite the owners with their babies 💜💜 my babies have gotten out this year and the relief I felt getting the call from the people in the neighborhood that found them was undescribable Much love from Arizona 💜
What an interesting and complicated profession! You can tell everyone on the team really cares about bringing the pets home safely. I'm so glad all the cases you showed were successfully solved!
This is so cool!! I'd love to see more of these, and see what varieties of pets the team are asked to find. Their job would be extremely important in the eyes of so many people, finding lost family members. I love how you keep finding these awesome and interesting humans!! 🙏🏻
Oh my gosh, this is one of my most favorite things. People with so much passion and care doing a job to really help people, they truly care as much as their clients! It is truly a dream to find a job that fills your life so fully, I have so much respect for them! I don't know if I could do it, I would get way too emotionally involved and distressed if I couldn't find a pet
I love the phrasing of "people detective" for the one guy. Saying "real detective" doesn't sound right considering how much work they put into finding pets
Oh my… such an amazing job! A big respect for the pet detectives for their passion❤️🔥 Thank you so much for all your efforts of sharing this unknown world with us, Tokyo Lens☺️
It's so heartwarming to see this group of people take this job so seriously, when many people may underestimate the importance a lost pet could have to the owner. This was really cool to see, and your videography skills added so much to the experience. Thanks again Norm!
What a great service to provide. Unless you are a pet owner you don't realise how possible it is to get attached to these lil furballs. When they go missing, or are hurt, it's like a family member in trouble. Good for them. Cheers Norm.
Such an interesting story! I love how you always find a way to document something completely new to most people and keep it interesting all the way throughout!
Really interesting that that kind of job actually exists! Would have been nice if that kind of service was available in Sweden when I was young at lost my cat.
Not the first career path you think of but certainly a job where you can make many people very happy. It’s also really cool that this job where he can help other people helped him out of homelessness.
This video was highly unique I have not seen anything like that. I like how you treat these people like the main characters and you are the one whos just filming. Almost like a movie. Love your content.
I really loved this video, I'm glad all the kitties they were looking for in this video were found. It's so nice to see people looking for the lost pets, they are so important to their owner.
I've been watching so many of your videos, after i got introduced to your channel, and i just saw this one, and it broke my heart that so many pets get lost, and then got a very fuzzy and warm feeling that there are humans out there (At least in japan) who are literally pet detectives, and they go out and try to search for peoples pets, and i just wish that the US had something like that. As i lost 2 cats a few years ago, and it broke my heart to never see them again, and only recently i got news that, (one) they were saved and rehoused and (two) that shortly a few months ago they both passed away from old age, but were happy and taken care of very well. And overall, i just love animals so much, they teach us humans things that we didn't even know was possible, such as being able to love and being able to care for our little companions. I just wanna say thank you for making your channel, and thank you for introducing me to your channel, as well as introducing me to life in japan, one of the countries i forever have been wanting to go too, but just never had the money to do so, so thank you as said to introducing me to such a wonderful country.
Only in Japan you can find really specific jobs like this and I'm glad they exist! Ngl I teared up when the owners were reunited with the cat. I could see so much love in their eyes. Having 3 cats myself I know the anxiety of a missing cat very well so it's good to see there are people who chose this profession. As usual, thank you for showing us a snippet of their world Norm.
Never knew there were people out there doing work like this. How amazing that they decided to live their life helping reunite people with their furry little loved ones. I remember how worried I was when my cat sneaked out before, so it's lovely seeing people help rid the world of that stress and worry
You always bring us so many interesting people and experiences to see, thanks for that Norm. An unexpected job but a very wholesome one, it's great to see these pet detectives putting in so much genuine effort to reunite the owners with their pets!
I love when you bring this kind of thing to the videos. I think that what I love the most is the part where these people tell their stories, just like the Christmas eve one in this video. I really like that you give the chance for the people to tell their stories. The mundane is beautiful.
This was such a heartening video! I'm so glad there's a team dedicated to this who are really empathetic to both the pet and their owner. This was really neat to see - thank you for filming it!
