This is why I love watching Gavin videos. His production style and quality of videos are fantastical and make me want to go explore on my own. I am also always down for a movie length vlog from him. Forever a fan 😊
@@GavinReadsItAll I haven’t been on here for bit because of some not so great news with personal stuff. But to see people agree with comment and you replied. Thank you Gavin for being you and bringing some brightness to my life right now.
This is such a great idea for a cozy getaway! I love how you really immersed yourself during the reading and how you knocked them all out in 5 days. The ultimate readathon! “Tea baggins” 😂
It's the fact that it was actually snowing this week you shot this video for me! The Weather Gods really were on your side for once, combine that with your creativity and we have a 10/10 video.
9:07 I bought the Andy serkis audiobooks and IT IS THE LITERAL BEST EXPERIENCE READING A BOOK IVE EVER HAD. I read the whole series last year listening to him and ughhhh he’s so perfect 😭😭 100/10 narrator and actor
OMG Gavin, this movie...I mean vlog... was incredible. It has inspired me to do my own Tolkien read-a-thon, watch-a-thon, and hobbit life week. My partner is going to be traveling for work and I am absolutely going to recreate this experience you've modeled while she's away. I will be re-watching this vlog as a part of my plans during that time.
Gavin!! I loved this video! I was seriously cracking up when you were crossing the kiddie bridge, I just knew you were going to do the thing. Also, when you were reorganizing their shelves 😂 I would have done the same thing. This was so great! Anyway, as for the books, it's my experience that LOTR is something that you love the more you read it, just because of the way he wrote it. It's too much to really appreciate the first time, you can't take it all in properly, so the more you read the more you love it, because you know it better. One of my favorite quotes about LOTR is from the 1973 edition of the books by Peter S. Beagle: "For in the end it is Middle-earth and its dwellers that we love, not Tolkien’s considerable gifts in showing it to us. I said once that the world he charts was there long before him, and I still believe it. He is a great enough magician to tap our most common nightmares, daydreams and twilight fancies, but he never invented them either: he found them a place to live, a green alternative to each day’s madness here in a poisoned world. We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers-thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams." I wonder if there is some sort of hobbit house near me . . .
I only watched the very beginning of this vlog because I haven't read the books yet and so avoiding any spoilers, but OMG! GAVIN! This is so fn great so far!!! I LOVE how you filmed and edited the intro, and I'm honestly so jealous (but happy for you) that you got to stay in such a cute, cozy hobbit house!! Can't wait to read the books now and watch the rest of the vlog. Also, I'd like to say that 'Tea Baggins' is a GREAT name for your hobbit coffee/tea shop! 😂💚💚
Ohh Gavin, this looks like such a great time! What a cute place to read Tolkien in 🙂 Maybe 'One Day', you can wander your way down here to New Zealand & do a vlog as you visit Hobbiton (which is wonderful!) and go around the country taking in the Lord Of The Rings movie set locations!?! ♥📚🎞📽🎬😍
This is making me do another reread of the books. If I could live in middle earth I would stay forever. I have often played the movie soundtracks in the cafe I work in, because I would love to have a shire themed cafe.
I never leave any comments but I have to say I absolutely adored this vlog and it's made me want to re-read the series. I truly appreciate all the hard work and commitment you put into your videos 💖
Gavin! This has to be my favourite vlog of yours ❤️ it’s so charming and cozy, plus the music selection and the editing - perfection! well done 👏🏼 much love xx
I would be a regular at Tea Baggins ☺️☺️😄 I had a stressful month so this video came just in the perfect time ❤ my cat's name is Bilbo because of the Hobbit and it always will be funny to hear his name 😂 We both love your videos, wishing you the bests 🥺
I am obsessed with this video! I’m glad you had a good time, it looks amazing! So atmospheric with the actual music as well. The transition from the movie to the taking the hobbits to Isengard song was so smooth it made me laugh out loud in a silent office at work 😂🙈
dude this is a dream vlog/video/straight up experience! I'm watching this and it's exactly what I would of done man. This is so cozy - hope you had a wonderful time!
This is absolutely my favorite video you’ve made! The LOTR trilogy is a masterpiece, as are the movies. Thank you for this video and for all the hard work you’ve put into it ❤
Gaviiiiinnnn!!!! That intro!!!!! ❄️ 😍 Oh I just love when you do these kind of vlogs! So cozy! And yes I would love to visit your coffee shop. Also now you make me want to read The Lord of the Rings with the audiobooks narrated by Andy Serkis. Love it!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Holy moly! When you created your vlog for reading horror in the haunted castle, I thought that was your best yet... you've just topped that one with this vlog by miles! This was absolutely fantastic and so damn cosy! It makes me want to read The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy all over again 😆 Your creative skills are *chef's kiss* ❤️
👏👏👏What a “movie” production. What a marvelous review. Now I’m in the mood of rereading LOTR. I love watching your on location vlogs. They are such a delight. Thank you for your hard work. ❤
😮So amazing!!! I love Tolkien's stories. The Hobbit is very charming and whimsical but still really exciting. I do love Bilbo becoming friends with the dwarves. There is a lot of heart in the story. And LOTR is epic. The most touching heartbreaking stories for me are in the Simarillion. Super magical vlog!!!
Your passion for reading radiates from this video. So refreshing, & although I’ve never read this series, I’m feeling it!! Thanks for sharing all this, Gavin.
I'm late to the party, but I REALLY appreciate that LOTR- inspired readalong session that you talked about on 47:43. I had it on a loop for many, many hours while reading. Everything about it - the ambiance, the sounds - is wonderful. Thank you, Gavin.❤
This made me want to reread the books so much!! What an amazing place, and this was such a cozy wonderful vlog! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, Gavin!
You putting on the ring & disappearing was SPECTACULAR! 😃 Hubby watched this awesome video with me & said he really digs your black & gold shirt! Dance moves! 🕺 Loved this - ty for all the work you put into it!!! ❤
Hi Gavin! I'm usually a quiet viewer but a long time subscriber. This video is truly truly remarkable. The immense comfort it gave me after a long restless, exhausting few days. I will be rewatching this whenever my heart is heavy. Thank you!!
I got teary eyed when I started the video, the music, the scenes. I adore the Lord of the Rings. My hobbit heart is so happy. ❤ Thank you for this wonderful video Gavin!
It is amazing that I'm seeing this video as I literally have "The Two Towers" playing in the background! This would be a dream come true for me! So glad to see it. 🥰
oh I love this!! I went to Hobbiton in NZ and it was so beautiful, i am a huge LOTR fan and have always loved the atmosphere of the world.. full of adventure but also so cozy. I hope you had a nice time in the little hobbit house! :D would you ever stay at the stanley hotel and read the shining? that could be really fun!
It's kind of funny because I discovered your channel a couple of months back and started searching to see if you had reviewed LOTR. It's one of my favorite trilogies/book series and I was kind of shocked I couldn't find a video where you reviewed it lol. This was an awesome surprise to see when you posted it 😀
Thank you so much for this vlog! by far the best one I have seen ever!!! I'm so pleased that you covered the ending- I have always preferred the book ending and has reminded me on how good these books are. Will have to re-read 😍
“I am no man!” Is my favourite line in the series. I love your sweater! Very cozy and thematic. Glad that it was not made for hobbit-sized people. I am 5’9” and my husband is 6’1”, so I would be concerned about the bed length :-) I bet the garden is amazing in the summer, but the snow was magical. You can tell it was cold by the crunching noise under your shoes (us Canadians can tell).
I mean honestly, you couldn't have paid for better weather for that cinematic opening! It looks like you had a fantastic time. Also, completely iconic to be like "I've brought my own coffee machine and alcohol... might run out of food." At least you've got your priorities sorted! Thank you for sharing this adventure with us!
This just might be my favorite video you've done to date, even though I love the hell out of you reading in haunted places. 😂❤ Will be rewatching this one a lot!
Can we just appreciate how perfectly Gavin timed the scene cuts to the music in the intro? I don't want to know how long this beautiful thing must have taken to edit. Also, I've heard about this rental and it's definitely on the bucket list.
Just finished watching it all the way through and I loved it SO much! What a fantastic place to read the books in, especially with all that snow! I think this may be one of my favourite ever reading vlogs, and I've watched a LOT!
Ahhhh the production quality of this vlog!!! 👏👏👏 This is so great Gavin, idk how you manage to top yourself every time with fun and creative ideas, but this is another masterpiece of a video!! 🥹😍
Fantastic video as usual. And possibly the push I needed to reread all four this year. I was thinking about it anyway after watching the trilogy with my oldest kiddo a few weeks ago but this may have solidified it.
I cannot express how much excellent this video is. Perfect. I wish to do the same someday. Being a huge Tolkien fan, it is always at the back of head. You made my day Gavin. It was very cozy and vicarious to watch this video.
I always say the same thing when gollum and smeagol are talking about not having friends 😂 and when you showed the clip of Sam carrying Frodo, we totally cried together my friend. The Parasocial friendship was thriving during this video. 😅🥰
I feel so validated that you started to fall asleep when treebeard was talking because the ents in two towers is where I gave up the first time I tried to read through the series.
I’ve been so looking forward to this video since you first mentioned it, and it was worth the wait! Absolutely loved it Gavin. It is so cosy, especially with the beautiful music from the films. Again, I appreciate all the effort and hard work you put into it, the editing is spot on, as always! Thanks for a lovely 1h 40m with you. Best Wishes 💕🧙🏻♂️
Perfect books, perfect movies! Today they don't make movies likes these anymore. Perfect Vlog. I felt transferred into Tolkien's world just from watching it. Thank you for the trip!💗❄️📖🧙♂️
The skills you have with lighting and sound in what must be very difficult locations are so impressive. ❤ And you even bought licenses for all the main themes in the score? What a fantastic vlog. You make me want to burn my house to the ground and build a hobbit hole instead. 😂
Its so pretty and whimsical. The snow added to it too. I have a recommendation of a Hotel that Agatha Chrisite went to and i believe it also inspired the Then there were none book too. Its called Burgh Island Hotel. Its a very nice hotel that i think you would enjoy. :) this video was amazing, look forward to all the videos to come :)
OMG! That bathtub! I'm still watching, but commenting now. I'm a huge fan of this vlog so far. I've only read The Hobbit but have always wanted to try the rest although, I really like the part where they're just chilling in the shire before anything happens. Okay, NM... going to come back later so I don't get spoilers haha!
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but Sam does call him Mr Frodo in the movies. I love ❤️the movies and books! They play the extended version of the 3 LOTR movies at a theater where I live and it’s only $15 total and a long movie day and always in December. I’ve gone to it 4 times. It’s so much fun! Costume contests, $3 pizza slices during intermission between movies, and you can leave and come back if you want in case you want other food. Excellent video! Love that house!
