@@ExtraLargeDealDough it's because he was playing against AI with low difficulty level. If he played against humans or even S rank computers he'd have struggled a lot more. He'd also find the game a lot more playable if he changed settings to make the game go a lot faster lol
and doesn't change board speed settings and complains about how slow the game is 😂I hope he will find out that you can change the board speed and be interested in playing the game again with QOL settings
Toad is like that competitor that acts like they're your friend and they're rooting for everyone, but you can see how much pleasure they take in watching others lose.
I love this game. Bought it at a family video for 10 bucks years ago, and when my brother and I moved into an apartment, we would get wasted with some friends and play this for hours, screaming at each other about bullshit luck or buying each others shops. I miss those times
As a huge fan of this game and someone who played it religiously, as soon as I saw him offer Toad a fraction of the shop value to buy it from him I knew this was gonna be a roller coaster 😂😂😂 also the fact that he doesn't change settings to remove NPC text boxes and fast board/dice movement for QOL
I feel that pain, too. I loved playing this game back in the day with a friend of mine, putting the settings to fast makes it so much more playable. I can't believe he never considered checking if there was a setting for it at least.
i WAS HOWLING. Like, yes of course they won't sell if you won't offer at least the shop value. Is this guy braindead? Would he sell his own house for half of its value?
@@Fang.1 exactly lol, like it's objectively better to have a shop than to have its cash equivalent so he's extremely lucky the AI difficulty level was low enough for the CPU's to accept trades for barely higher than the shop value lol
One of the reasons why a bunch of people love this game and suggested it to you is because it is much more strategy-based with how you have to manage things like stocks and upgrading shops. (Plus, I feel like some people here might have seen channels like TRG do videos of the game and wanted you to play it)
I find it so funny how Nintendo refused to collaborate with square Enix since they started working for the PS1, and then they only start working together again for the sake of a weird party game. fortune street may end friendships but it brings companies back together.
@@keisuketakahasi4584 Ever heard of "Disturbing the peace"? Because that's exactly what Poof's doing when he screams at the top of his lungs while raging at a kids game.
@@kingbrettpro dosent he live in a house? the neighbors wouldnt hear that anyway besides idk about us but in most other places you can make as much noise as you want except for quiet hours at night time and a few hours around noon
Hello there 👋. As a Fortune Street Veteran, I can offer you a few tips to improve your experience playing this game. 1) Switch the CPU’s text to either fast or off & The dice and movement speed to fast as well to save time. Games will still be long, but at least the wait time will be cut down considerably. 2) Playing with higher ranked players (particularly S) will make the games more interesting as they have more concrete and reasonable strategies than lower ranked players. 3) Connected to #2 but going through tour mode will allow you to unlock different characters and later on, maps for you to play on so at some point, you can go on free play and compete against a full S ranked lobby. (You may or may not already be able to do that for any character if you press the + button just prior to selecting them. If not, then you’ll have to beat the game (tour mode) in order to do that) I can list way more things but this comment is long enough as is rn lol
This was my favorite childhood game. It dominations monopoly because you have options, you could trade stores for stores or gold for stores or better yet if they don't want to negotiate can force buyout people's stores if you have 5x the shop's price and the incorporation of stocks in standard mode. Also, the arcade was blast Also also, i turn the game speed to "a blur" to speed up the die roll and chat to "off" so the ai quips are disabled to keep the action going up in the settings.
If you do ever play it again, you can speed games up to take less than half the time. Start up a board and head to the options menu in game and change the game speed to blur. You can choose a few other options such as speeding up or turning off the character chat boxes as well.
Should be noted that you can change the settings in the "Other" menu to make it faster. Like speed up the dialogue, or even turn off the opponent commentary between turns. But also much like Monopoly, owning a district means the value goes up on your shops, which is why Yoshi was so unwilling to just give away his shops for peanuts knowing it'd give you a monopoly over those areas. Honestly I do have fond memories of playing this game because of a friend recommending it to me, even watching this made me want to go back and play it. It's really fun when you actually understand what's happening and follow along with it. But it can be time consuming if you're intent on doing a full playthrough with standard rules, the easy mode would've just been more straightforward with some things.
Also if you ever play this game again like gold trophies to keep unlocking if you go your main character in the solo mode. It also helps unlock customization for your character and unlocks new maps and characters.
Same, but I'm disappointed unsurprised that it's too complicated for him to appreciate 😂 maybe he should stick to the platinum medals in Wii Sports since those are much more straightforward...at least in terms of how much thinking is involved 🤣
i’m currently in north in ireland for a mission trip and i woke up around 230 their time (im est) and i couldn’t go back to sleep but i think God has answered my prayers bc now i can watch poof until i fall asleep :)
Poof no lie this was one of my favorite videos. I really hope you play this game again, against some more difficult opponents. Thanks for making my day ❤
@@thegekkoguy189 Well the thing is i played it and struglled a whole lot with my friends and died over and over again. It would be so much fun seeing pofesure play that lol espsically world nine were you dont get respawns
I would say as advise try playing a board with no stocks or a beginner board to learn more about the game. Yes it’s like monopoly but a bit more strategy involved
I knew we were in for a wild ride when Poof offered _less_ than the property value of something, and thought it was crazy they counteroffered a lot more
Play easy rules on Robbin' Hood Ruins with some combination of Mario, Luigi, Angelo, and Bowser. You'll have a lot more fun, and it'll both be easier to understand and more of a challenge. Robbin' Hood Ruins is a well designed map. Easy rules are easier to get into, but still strategic and interesting. Mario, Angelo, and Bowser will all give you a run for your money (and I personally enjoy their dialogue). Luigi is a pawn that the other players can manipulate to gain advantage (and has fun dialogue).
now I REALLY want Poof to play a Dragon Quest game that said though, with no motion controls and the requirements of reading full paragraphs and an attention-span of more than 5 seconds, I feel that DQ may be too much for him lol
Would love to see you play a series with fortune street. This game was part of my childhood and was the only game I could play with my mom that we both enjoyed. Love ya Poof
The fact that I was literally just watching one of your old wrestling videos, my day always lights up when Poof pumps juicy long yummy content down our throats 🥰🥰
I recently purchased this game, as I've bought and played every video game of Monopoly on consoles, and this was on my radar. Personally, even though I don't win very often, I love this game! Excellent options, great descriptions for everything from the tutorial to the settings, characterization is on point, the visuals are polished, everything is great.
I've watched other RU-vidrs struggle at this and get so frustrated. poof just comes in, goes straight to classic mode, doesn't read most of it doesn't even understand it and wins first try I can't
If you go to "Other" you can change some options. One of them changes game speed. Change that to "A blur", and the dice rolling and movement speed will be way faster. Also, buy stock in a district you own property in and then invest in those properties. You'll get a lot of net worth in the process, typically higher than any stock you'd have to sell after. As for why Toad didn't buy you out toward the end, buying someone out costs 5x the shop's value, and I believe 3/5 goes to the previous shop owner and 2/5 goes back to the bank. So, you would've gotten more money if Toad did buy you out.
Yess I’ve wanted you to play for a while! I’ll explain easy mode is not as good as standard, with standard the stocks make it a little better. Also choosing the right district and making sure you have more stock from investing in your properties by landing on your properties will help you win the game
I loved this game growing up. I still play it from time to time. Nice to see you try it. Everyone, we need to make him make a series of it and go through the whole tour lol
You can turn off the NPC talking and turn the speed to "a blur" to speed up the game. I've unlocked all the maps, and I have never played with them talking on. It was kind of charming to see for the first time.
I don't know if there's a comment for this, but you can go to Other and change the settings of the dice roll and movement around the board to Fast, as well as turn off the speech bubble things of the npcs between turns if you want a faster game :D
