Visibly pregnant cat takes visibly not-pregnant cat into woods and not-pregnant cat comes back with three kits that look nothing like her or her mate. Everyone in ThunderClan: seems legit. Jesus no wonder Mothwing thinks everyone is stupid but her.
Well if the Erins gave literally ANY shit about genetics maybe they would have caught on sooner. Looking at you, Redtail, Crowfeather, Squirrelflight, Feathertail, Snowfur, Sorreltail, Scourge, Spiderleg, Leafpool, Russetfur, Honeyfern, Fernsong, Mintpaw, Brook, Stonefur, Mistystar, Bluestar, Thistleclaw, Flametail, Ashfur, Brightheart, Cinderpelt, Yellowfang, Hawkfrost, Blossomfall, Millie, Silverstream, Sol, Greystripe, Brambleclaw, Mothwing, Blackstar, Willowpelt, Tigerstar, Swiftpaw, Longtail, Dustpelt, Leopardstar, Oakheart, Crookedstar, Brambleberry, yadda yadda yadda
*inhales* There's cat with pelt colors that doesn't even exist. Genetics do not matter. Genetic is not relevent in the story, so they decided that they would let that aside, it does not create plothole of any sorts unless you care about genetics. But if that's the case, it's on you. Genetics do not exist in the warrior universe. THOUGH The pregnant cat thing IS a plothole. It IS relevent to the story. And it is really weird how cats can hide that they're pregnant, even worse, how Leafpool, that EVERYONE noted waw bigger, could pretend the three were Squirrelflight, even though she was not bigger, and Leafpool must've strangely loose so belly after their birth.
"Leafpool reminds herself that her job is about having no freedom and no emotions and nothing matters but her career." So it's like being a Jedi but worse.
@@wheat_5923 nah you can kill people. Just no lightsaber and you don't get to be buddy buddy with clones you serve with until order 66 fck that lol. I'd much rather be a Jedi especially one under Anakin or Obi-Wan so I could hang with Rex, Jesse, Fives or Cody lol
"Squirrelflight bounded over, snow clinging to her belly fur, and looked down at the tom. “Then we should call him Jaykit, don’t you think?” "Leafpool nodded. And one day you will be Jayfeather, like your father." - actual part from actual book *THANKS I HATE IT*
@@sarahkey9578 it's bad for numerous reasons one if she had named Hollykit Crowkit it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to look at Crowkit and CROWFEATHER and go "hmmmmm odd" and add that WITH Jaykit being Jayfeather THEN you're just asking for trouble. And two it just shows that Leafpool at this time was still unhealthily obsessed with Crow and yes I will use that word. She shooed him away then immediately is all "oh so who's that she-cat he's with am I that easily replaceable?" BITCH YOU WANTED HIM GONE BITCH. And it's just hindsight shit-she was planning on making her son a medicine cat, not only to have him near her but to give him the name SHE wanted. It's just gross and I hate it. I always thought Jayfeather was like for the blue of his eyes-the same color feather of that type of bird but NO it's for CROWFEATHER. ugh.
Leafpool: Squirrelflight, StarClan surprised me with an AMV about how fire and tiger should rule the forest together. You should definitely get back together with Bramblebutt and make the ship canon, otherwise StarClan’s music video would’ve been for nothing!
To be fair, Ashfur has four counts of attempted murder and became an evil ghost wizard because he got friendzoned. If they had stayed together, can you imagine what he’d do when he found out that he was lied to about being the kit’s father? I’m thinking that Squilf dodged a bullet there.
*slams fist on the table* NO! They HAVE to be raised in thunderclan! Main characters stay in thunderclan! God forbit we actually get something new for a change!
"Crowfeather? Where did these kittens come from?" Onestar asked suspiciously as Crowfeather carried his newborn kits into camp. *Leafpool's secret must be protected.* "I found them by the border stream with ThunderClan crying out for their mother. I waited for a while to see if anyone would come for them, but nobody did." Crowfeather lied. He remembered watching with Squirrelflight as his former mate gave birth. "What makes you think we have the resources to care for these kits? It's the middle of leafbare!" Onestar lashed his tail angrily. "Well we can't let them starve, they don't even have their eyes open!" Nightcloud stood up for Crowfeather. She was a skilled warrior who Crowfeather got along with, she would probably help him care for the kits, or Ashfoot. Crowfeather felt a sense of resentment that his mother was expecting Onestar's kits. But she was his mother and he loved her. *And she'll provide milk for the kits.* He added silently to himself. "These kits will become warriors, and they will prove to ThunderClan that just because Mudclaw slowed us down, doesn't mean we're not strong!" Crowfeather argued
I just. I was always super confused over why Leafpool had to hide her pregnancy. If you already got exposed for running off with your skinny emo boyfriend I feel like it's better to be honest and go "Yeah, I'm pregnant with his kids, my bad. My sister is gonna raise them though bc I'm now committed to being a cat doctor." What're they gonna do?? Kick out their leader's kid and their only doctor???
Or they could have just pretended to find Jay, Holly, and Lion as "abandoned kits", brought them to camp, and then had one of the queens to adopt and take care of them
@@bongz6544 Leafpool was in shock. Who is she to question Starclan as well? Leafpool was pretty much surrending to whatever happened next. And she likely knew deep down, it was the right thing.
Thunderclan: Knows Leafpool ran off. Leafpool: Was visibly pregnant. Kits: Not a single ginger or dark tabby pelt. Thunderclan: What nice kits you have Squilf.
@@SaraSong-mw3zm Lionblaze and Jayfeather are tabbies, but Jayfeather is a GRAY tabby and Crowfeather is a dark gray almost black tom with blue eyes. Just like Jayfeather. Not to mention, JayFEATHER. CrowFEATHER. Come on Leafpool think! Also Lionblaze is a golden tabby tom and sure the amber eyes could be attributed to Brambleclaw, but Leafpool also has amber eyes too. I'm kinda sad Juniperkit (Squirrelflight's kit and Alderheart and Sparkpelt's sibling) didn't survive because he was the only one in Squilf's litter who looked even remotely like Brambleclaw but with green eyes which would've been so cool. A dark tabby with green eyes OH pretty.
@@TheRibottoStudios But Sandstorm’s somehow canonical parents are Brindleface (A gray she-cat,) and Redtail, (Somehow a tortoiseshell Tom.) and she came out a pale ginger. Looking at them, I would expect her to be maybe a dilute calico-So I think Lionblaze being a golden tabby isn’t as much as a stretch? But Warriors are notorious for not caring about actual cat genetics anyways, but I agree with Mothwing on that.
I hate what they did to her too, though I think she got better after OoTS. The worst part is they didn't even say a reason in the story why she was acting this way, they just turned her into another stupid Starclan cat
i just believe that the second a cat enters starlan they immediately become part of a hivemind and are basically just drained of personality when 'important decision making' starclan cats require it
I'm glad someones on the same boat as me when it comes to starclan yellowfang... she was so likeable and reasonable until her death imo. The reins did a huge disservice to her character sadly
@@humangarbage3019 And then she became a liar and hypocrite who lost her personality. I liked her, I don't care that she killed Brokenstar, who happens to be my favorite character.
@@dragonburst3035 I do agree as well, but I heard a theory that Starclan took Ashprick in because they didn't want to give the Dark Forest an extra Warrior, considering the upcoming battle.
If squilf and leaf had just said that the kits were abandoned by their mother, im convinced that most of the driving problems in power of three could have been avoided.
remember when part of yellowfang's guilt tripping was telling squirrelflight that as the mate of thunderclan's deputy and future leader it was her duty to pass on brambleclaw's legacy? haha no i will never let this part of the book go
I think she was trying to give the three a good mom unlike what happened to brokenstar. I still think she was acting dumb but I understand why she did it
And to make this amazing coincidence even better, Yellowfang had something to do with both of the books. Especially since Leafpool’s Wish plays a big role into what happens in SquirrelFlight’s Hope. A very important role. I’m not sure if this is just a coincidence anymore-
And also Yellowfang did make both their life’s worse, and I’m pretty sure Yellowfsng wasn’t their for Brokenstar when he was a kit so that did make Brokenstar’s life worse..
Horselover35 Studios Think about this, In dawn of the clans, They could smell when a she was pregnant, So.. wouldn’t they have smelled her? lol or are we just supposed to believe their senses downgraded because everyclan cat ever has kits with another cat from a different clan
I'm really, really glad I didn't read this book. When it was revealed in PoT that Leafpool is the mom, I went "Ah, yes. The one cat Squirrelflight would risk everything for. Her sister whom she shares a mental link with. Makes sense." But, no, let's guilt trip her out of her agency.
If the clans knew about Leafpool and Crowfeather getting it on, wouldn’t it be simpler if Leafpool just admitted that she never meant to become pregnant and that her sister will take care of them so Leafpool can take care of the clan and do her job. I can guarantee the clan wouldn’t be nearly as angry about the three’s parents if she just up and said who their mother is from the start and that she will be giving them to someone else to raise them since she’s the only medicine cat.
I still can't with how Bramblers thought Squirrelflight went an entire pregnancy without telling him and continuing to do warrior stuff and he didn't care at all
I felt so bad for Squirrelflight the whole book because she was lied to and guilt-tripped and forced to raise kits that weren't hers because it would literally ruin her life and reputation
"Squirrelflight doesn't like that Brambleclaw is still treating her like a child, but Leafpool doesn't care about that. It's Leafpool time, and Leafpool is very pregnant." wHeeZe I laughed but it's also so sad
I dislike her too, like who would pass on their problems to someone else? And that someone else is your sister who's trying to help you with the problem?
Ok no joke in a super name strict rp, the kind that follow the naming guide moonkitti touched on a couple years back, one of the guys managed to name their warrior Garfield, a riverclan cat. Gar is a fish guys!
When moonkitti breaks down the books in this way. It really puts in perspective the actual amount and quality of content in these. Of course we take these as funny parodies. But the plot points and themes still relatively the same.
Yep, and she does a good job pointing out things that I've never noticed e.g. Leafpool wishing Squilf chose Ashfur even though Leafpool told Squilf not to choose Ashfur It's like the authors don't even read the books
Leafpool sucks when it comes to being A. A good sister and B. Being a responsible adult. Like for real take responsibility for your own mistakes instead of dumping them on poor Squirrelflight whos life is now possible ruined because of her sister
I always preferred the assumption Squirrelflight volunteered to take the kits and she and Leafpool worked it out like sensible adults/sisters who loved each other. Instead we got this.
@@xChijouChanx throughout the book Leafpool is a huge entitled brat, StarClan doesn't mislead her they actually are really keen on helping her out and dumping all her consequences and problems on Squirrelflight, and Leafpool doesn't raise a finger in protest to help her sister, in fact, she also guilt trips her sister. And does not care when Squirrelflight expresses to her reasonably that she does not want to do this huge thing because it would ruin literally everything. And Leafpool just as well as says. "Well, tough. You're doing it anyway because even StarClan thinks you should and if you don't you don't love me." i hate Leafpool
Watching this makes me wonder why didn’t Leafpool (or Squilf do it since if the authors actually cared everyone would smell the milk on Leafpool) take the kits to the camp after having them and tell Ferncloud she found orphaned kits on the forest and ask if she could foster them?
꧁moon꧂ that would be cool! imagine seeing Breezepelt not trying to kill Lionblaze every five seconds and Lion mentioning that he should praise Breeze just as as much as he gets praised, or would Breezepelt still be evil? Because I would pay to see them giving Crowfeather (or Leafpool) a verbal smack down
@@corncrackerkid5092 I think this would be a sweet AU, considering Nightcloud lost her kits (except for Breezekit--), it would be perfect for her to be able to get 3 kits to raise.
Concept: what if, instead of ruining Squirrelflight's life, the three were raised in WindClan? Say Leafpool told Crowfeather what was going on and asked him to take the kits when they're born to WindClan. Crowfeather agrees and ends up talking with a she-cat in his clan (Nightcloud) who had asked him if he would claim her kits when they're born because their father was a kittypet or a rogue because she was so desperate to be a mother that she took an unsuitable mate. Crowfeather agreed to do this for her to be kind and to redeem himself in his clan's eyes. He asks if she'll keep a secret for him and never ask him any questions about it in return. Nightcloud agrees without question. Crowfeather takes her out for a hunt when her kits are meant to be born and meets up with Leafpool and Squirrelflight. Leafpool delivers Nightcloud's kits, which sadly all but one of hers is stillborn, and puts her own (relatively) newborn kits to Nightcloud's belly. Nightcloud and Crowfeather raise Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, Breezepelt, and Lionblaze. Lionblaze is the only oddity of their litter, but could be explained away by Crowfeather's grandparents being reddish-brown and Nightcloud's genetic history being a big unknown. She could easily claim her father was a ginger tom or her mother was tortoiseshell. No one is the wiser and we get to see a Windclan perspective in the third series, which would not only be interesting, but would also make the kit's ties to Firestar and the Prophecy come right out of left field.
You know... why didn't they just say "We found these kits in our territory, didn't see or smell any signs of a mother, so we are taking them in. They took a liking to Squirrelflight and feel that she is their mother" or SOMETHING?!
“Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Hollyleaf... I am your father.” -Crowfeather like all the time. “No, Sneezepaw, I’m not your father.” *Nightcloud nods at Crowfeather.* “Oh wait, I guess I am. Haha.”
This could all have been avoided if Leafpool just went to Firestar and said "hey, guess what? StarClan says Squirrelflight and I must go on a journey to rescue some abandoned kits and that it's super important that they're raised in ThunderClan (only 50% a lie)!" She could even have persuaded LITERAL STAR CLAN to back her up on this, considering that they said they would help her, and all she had to do was hold them to their promise.
I love how Yellowfang, who has dealt with having kits as a medicine cat before, is like "Haha, lol, good luck with that Leafpool StarClan doesn't know what it's doing!" (Granted, her kit turned into a murder soooo-)
“Everyone falls Leafpool fat” I relate to that “Squirrelflight goes with her because nobody should be able to leave camp with her” Bramblestar ahem ahem TNP ahem “Haha losers” that’s how I’m going to end all of my conversations from now on
Imagine being a ghost and convincing your ex's ex's sister to keep your ex's ex's lovechildren and raise them as her own, insisting it be in a territory that's not even yours, and not the territory of the father aka your ex. Hey feathertail why do you even care?
They walk four steps into the forest and immediately get attacked by a badger, who, seconds later, is attacked by a fox, who gets attacked by a dog, who gets attacked by a twoleg, who is then attacked by a badger "I think I should have my babies now!" Says Leafpool, after witnessing this miracle
If Moonkitti decides to do Mapleshades Vengeance: (Line I made up) So Maple syrup baits Frecklewish for no reason other than being a so called cause of being her kits death to snake rocks. Before Freckles can get there Maple holds her cup of sugar. “If you bite Freckles you can get this, but don’t touch me” The gummy worm snake agrees. Freckles gets there and is reasonably shocked and concerned that her brothers ex-girlfriend and Rotten Apples ex-wife is here. Freckles screams and jumps at Maple Syrup, but she misses and hit the ground. She dumps the whole cup of sugar on Freckle and gummy worm snake consumes Freckles like Kirby and goes home. Maple Syrup is okay with this.
Honestly, I don't think it would ruin Leafpool's life if she kept her kits. At the time their were no other medicine cats, and Thunderclan had just suffered the badger attack. They needed her more then ever then, and Firestar would be a complete fool to get rid of her. Also, by the time she did fully train a new medicine cat, I believe she would be fully redeemed. Unless Thunderclan is a bunch of idiots, there would be no way it would ruin her life. She only ruined her life by lying.
"What a wholesome Children book series!" I agree, the same book series that has murders, pregnancy, and death every other page is *SO WHOLESOME!* Oh and also a very 'Wholesome' Fandom...
I love how you can feel how much you hate this book, even if you don't it's giving off that vibe. "How do I deal with having these kittens!?" "I don't know , I'm an idiot."
I never really liked Squirrelflight but god I was feeling sooooo sorry for her while reading this. I was sure when I started to read that she would've accepted by love for her sister or something, but I was horrified when I realised she was pressured and lied to so she will accept to take them. And the fact that, later, Starclan blamed her for that makes it EVEN WORSE.
Sliverstream: I had kits with a cat from another clan Yellowfang: I had kits as a medicine cat ???: Amuters Sliverstream and Yellowfang: WHAT DID YOU SAY!!!! Leafpool: I SAID AMUTERS Bebe Hollyleaf 😭
Me: hears small tapping noise Also me: sees spider that looks weirdly like a cat Also also me: *SpiderLeg? Is that you?* Also also ALSO me: *visit your children.*
Brambleclaw: WOW Squirrelflight had kits without showing any signs that she was pregnant at all! Guess I’m the father cause we love each other but not until later Cause adults are idiots
I kind of wish Squirrelflight had just offered to take Leafpool's kits instead of literally being forced to and have the drama centered around whether or not they should tell Brambleclaw Squirrelflight - gets agency and makes a drastic decision which shows how much she cares for leafpool Leafpool - can insist not to tell brambleclaw because she still doesn't trust him after everything he's done StarClan - fucks off
