I love how he makes it feel like you’re actually travelling with him. I’m suffering with a chronic illness at the moment and I used to love travelling, but I can for the foreseeable future, but I’m sure I will again one day, but for now, this channel helps me see things that I can’t right now!

Lived in Jersey for three years, met my husband and married there - many happy memories of Jersey, my husband passed away in 2017 - we loved staying there, back in 1973 the night life was great!

Great video! Now I know where Jersey is and thank-you for the History bits too. I had never heard of having to book a spot for a meal in a Hotel before watching your videos. I feel like a Hotel should be able to accommodate every guest (from the Hotel). Love you and patiently waiting to see where you go next. Calilo? (expensive) .... I'm in Biloxi Mississippi USA. ❤❤

This brings back memories, I've been on that beach back in 2002. That hotel looked a bit grubby back then. I would have asked for a discount for all the water streaming down the walls over the light switches. Who is cleaning the rooms, didn't they notice that. I'm amazed at how they charge £570 a night and didn't bother fixing it.

The bathroom was dull looking ,but other than that looked ok..pool looked good.thanks always tim🤗🙋‍♀️

I absolutely love Jersey - we used to stay there when I was a kid looking after a family friend’s house. The beaches there are amazing. That hotel’s location is great isn’t it? Looks a little in need of TLC on the outside but the inside is great although I thought your room probably should have had dinner included at that price!

Water running down the wall and cobwebbed furniture? Musty smelling bed linen? Hmm. How difficult is it to properly prepare a room for guests. Not impressed. And the balcony was nice, but most of the furniture faces AWAY from the view towards the dated looking hotel. Not clever. And if a hotel doesn't know how to prepare a fondue perhaps it's better they not have it on the menu.

Hi, Tim. I'm from Jersey and I wanted to say thank you for visiting the Island. It's a very historic Island, lots of tourists, mostly French, come to visit. The weather is quite mixed like in the UK. The prices here are quite high but the quality, overall, is good. Once again, thank you for coming.

Love your videos, Tim! This place seems wonderful and that pool in the sea was absolutely stunning! I’d really love to know more about if you report issues in the room to the staff, (from smaller issues like the cobwebs all over the outdoor furniture, to larger issues like that really concerning leak running down the wall), and what their response is. I think there’s a lot of value in knowing how the hotel staff handles any issues. And would hopefully help them to do better for the next guests.

I only know Jersey from the TV series "Bergerac". I never took to that show, although the filming locations looked nice. Shame about the mediocre fish and chips Tim. I've always tried the fish and chips at every English coastal town I've visited, it's rare that i'm disappointed.

Stayed here 49 years ago as a 10 year old. It doesn’t seem to have changed that much. My lasting memory of the hotel was my parents being told that I had to wear a jacket for dinner - seems that this rule has been relaxed! My parents have returned several times over the years for special occasions: weddings and Christmas parties for friends on the island. Always spoke highly of the place.

I had the most relaxing of holidays on Jersey back in the 1980's. Never experienced anything like that since. Very calm, recreative, and makes you totally unwind.

Gorgeous view, but it would bug me being so overlooked. Especially the one above you. There is no privacy at all.

The fish and chips looked amazing! Thd beach too, some fantasy island. Very well covered.

Hi Tim. Your video brings back memories here :) Me, my mum, dad and sister visited Jersey some years ago. We came over by boat (never again!) We had a cabin on the way over but on the way back we travelled in the day and both me and my mum were terribly sick sick :) We stayed in a lovely Bed and Breakfast. We walked out the back door, down a path and then we were on the beach! I remembered we visited an German hospital there, well worth a visit and a few other places i can't remember. we had a week there and it we had a wonderful time :)

I quite like that room, esp the balcony but at that price, I'd expect it to be in much better shape. I wouldn't expect dirt on the balcony chairs and I'd expect that bedding to be fresh and nice smelling. The fish n chips looked lovely. They were more like 'fish bites' (that's what we call them up north). The best things about that hotel are the location and astroturf al fresco bars!

Hi Tim, I love watching your videos, in fact the WHOLE family loves watching them. My boyfriend and I even save videos you upload to watch them together! We do have a recommendation- The Bull & Swan in Stamford. If you do manage to stay, you MUST get their full English breakfast as well as that is AMAZING! My favourite beach in Jersey. Crystal clear water is great for a cool off mid summer. Some of the ww2 attractions and fortifications are amazing. The underground hospital is a must. Keep up the great content, Tim.

Tim I am looking forward for this as only been to Jersey once when I was a baby so obviously can’t really remember what’s it like. Maybe I’m due to go back sometime in my lifetime.

I stayed in Jersey last week for two nights at the Hotel Ambassadeur in St Clement, very nice hotel by the beach. Visited Jersey Zoo and Mont Orgueil Castle in Gorey, loved St Brelade's bay too. Enjoyed driving round, a nice slower pace of life. Plus cheap flight fares with easyJet from London Luton, a great trip, good to see you enjoyed Jersey too Tim 😊

The first time I went to Jersey was in 1956 and I loved it. The next time I visited Jersey was in 1991 and was very disappointed the beaches were scruffy and a lot of undesirables were there. We were told by our Guest House that the millionaires who live on the island were trying to keep the holidaymakers out I don’t know whether that was sour grapes on behalf of the locals who couldn’t afford to buy homes there or what but that definitely put me of of returning to Jersey.

Forty Pounds for fish and chips with wine.... I'm American.,maybe my sense of what that is in dollars is off...BUT THAT SEEMS HIGH.... ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WASN'T SPECIAL.

Why have fish and chips in a nice restaurant???Jersey is noted for wonderful sea food 😮Lived there for 6 years Grand hotel ,Pomme Dor Old Court House in St Aubin s all have great restaurants but you don't seem very adventurous when it comes to food🤔

Hey Tim, ur 40yrs too late for the good times in Jersey,went on that beach in St Brealades 82,83,84 it was packed,the whole island was buzzing ,but no more it's all finance now & lots of hotels & watering holes have gone, its a real shame I loved Jersey when I lived & worked there how things change.

Loved that you visited Jersey where im from. Slightly disappointing that the video was based around a hotel review and not showing off what jersey has to offer apart from a small snippet of Havre Des Pas. Got historical castles, german bunkers, town centre, coast lines to name a few. Jersey also has a massive german underground hospital built in the war thats a great visit! Shame people didnt get to see more of the island and what it has to offer.

Well this is a blast from the past! L’Horizon hotel in St Brelades Bay is superb - or was superb back in 1968 when my parents took us on holiday there. Very swish! The other residents were very sophisticated & sexy from recollection. The dining room required formal dress for dinner. Unforgettable!

you need to visit the underground German hospital

don’t get confused and hang up your clothes in the bathroom and try to take a shower in the wardrobe!

Tim I am always concerned when I visit hotels by the fact they never use a top sheet any more. They claim to change the quilt cover with every guest but in my mind it is far easier to wash and iron a flat sheet than a duvet cover, and replace on the bed. I am almost certain many hotels, if no visible stain on the duvet cover, do not change them,especially after a one night stay and that really puts me off wanting to go away. Who was in the bed the night before and were they even clean?🥺 I must have a sensitive nose because I can smell if bedding and pillowcases are not fresh and that really ruins any sleep I have. For £570 I would have complained, especially with the water coming down the wall, by the electrics. If no one complains the staff get complacent and think its acceptable.

Hi Tim , just say thank you for sharing your video about , jersey is absolutely beautiful there , I’ve been there 6 times First time I went there, there was 18 members of my family including me went there as it was to celebrate my grandparents golden anniversary back in 1986 or 1987 But I loved it there 🎉🎉🎉

As a football fan and groundhopper i went just after covid so i could see Jersey Bulls play, had a lovely time, Jersey war tunnels was an eye opener! incredible that they heard other islands getting liberated but had to wait months for themselves to get liberated! also i have to add Thalatta Guest House were very wecoming 👍❤️

Wow Jersey looks stunning, and worth visiting. Housekeeping needs a bit of a shake up with that wonky light, balcony furniture cleaning and AC water down the wall. Other than that looks a stunning location.

Never been to Jersey but it's on my to-do-list. Hotel looked great and the room was terrific especially the balcony views. I think your shower/wardrobe sandwich assessments are spot on!

Hey Tim, can you please stop wearing shoes in the shower. Gives me the ‘ick’ every time. We have no idea how well showers get cleaned at each property, and you’re bringing outside dirt into a supposed clean place we stand bare foot. Which isn’t nice for the next person if not cleaned properly.

My first visit to Jersey was on a school trip in 1970.We stayed at Le Coi hotel in St. Helier. Second trip was on my honeymoon in 2017. Enjoyed both trips very much but my first trip as a 12 year old was the best.

the food and drink not worth £50 should have been included in the price. wonder if the smaller fish are just cheaper to buy than a larger one. then you can get off cuts

Great video Tim. Glad you saw some of the island at least in your short stay. Hopefully you’ll be back again someday. The island comes alive in the summer sunshine. There’s so many fantastic views around Jersey. Maybe try a stay at The Atlantic hotel, Longueville manor or The Royal Yacht next time round. Top work.

The fish batter looked delicious to me. I could here the crunch and the fish looked lovely. A bit steep for the room though.

And two more facts: Assisted dying is legal plus the Jersey language (Jerriais) is a critically endangered language!

Are TVs in the uk typically tiny?? 1:53 😂😂😂. Bcuz whenever he says “HUGE TV” I find myself thinking like that’s a basic small hospital type tv lol what🤷🏽‍♀️‼️‼️(this hotel disappointed me seemed so boring nothing really enticing at all)

Loved Jersey Tim & I loved that chocolate shaped like Jersey. I thought it looked a bit like the shape of Australia!😂 Must of been lovely & warm in the channel Islands. I loved your room looked very cosy & the walk in wardrobe test was a change from the walk in shower. It was like the entrance to Narnia! (the wardrobe!) I would like to stay there definitely! The Balcony was amazing like a midsummers night dream! I'd love to watch the sun go down there with all that lovely fish you had for dinner & chippy chips! Really can imagine that! 4 people in the shower 🚿 but I bet only 2 would get wet from the shower head it didn't look enormous! Very sort warm lighting everywhere. The view was incredible I think I could live on that Balcony in summer!

I've binged a fair few of these now and I have to say, really well done. I can honestly admit that this is the only channel I watch where I never skip a single second.

Beautiful! The smell of the quilt and pillows are probably because people are always complaining about being allergic to scents so, they can’t use any when they wash.

Never been so was looking forward to your video, the hotel was ideally situated but I wasn’t impressed , if I had got a musty smell from the bed that would have finished me ,the veranda furniture full of cobwebs that was inexcusable , the meal wasn’t good enough so for one night prize wise not worth it and the hotel needs to be upgraded it’s tatty so on that video. What I seen 🌟🌟🌟😱

Hey Tim, please revisit Las Vegas and check out the newly opened Fontainebleau Hotel, the Cosmopolitan and the aria for example.

My mum used to visit Jersey with her friend who's daughter lived there. They always enjoyed it and going round the Bergerac locations , as daughter knew one or two of the owners.

The new walk in shower we have just had fitted will fit 3 people dressed but 4 people without clothes. I tested it out. Been banned from B&Q though

The Channel Islands were part of Normandy. When Britain lost its lands in France, the Channel Islands were given the choice of whether to remain British or become French along with the rest of the lands that Britain lost. Britain gave the better option - effectively independence in return for accepting the UK sovereign and some oversight by the Privy Council - so the Islands opted for this.
