@@erinmc Yes that might be it. They say チェックアウトの時まで (until check-out), not チェックアウトの時だけ (at the check-out only). I couldn't hear after that but Sharla definitely misheard them.
I apprecate how with you and Chris, both of you are so used to narrating and describing, that you can pass between you information and experiences with ease. Chris is very good at referring to different things, and you follow it up, or vice versa. Very enjoyable to have both of your commentaries and opinions side by side.
I've totally been craving more togetherness videos but I know that's probably not what you guys really want so i went back to journey across Japan to see you guys cycle together lol 👏👏👏👏
@@grape2941 A few months back I guess. Chris posted a video specifically about it. This is the first I've seen her channel and it looks like he's in quite a few of her vids. Had he not posted a vid announcing it I wouldn't have known either, she ain't never in his vids lol. But anywho, good for them. They seem like pretty good people. Chris is definitely punching way up though, need to hurry and put a ring on it lol.
You can kind of sense the "real Chris," a less sarcastic and a more normal, less Abroad in Japan RU-vidr Chris, coming through and it's weird and interesting and wholesome, it's so fun to watch!
Boys are always more silly when they are with other boys. My husband turns 50 in 3 weeks. Sweet, kind, quiet, lovely man....until he gets with his mates and he turns into a 20 year old lad again! hahaha Both are the 'real' person....just different versions
Ever since you broke the news about the two of you I was interested to see more collabs from the two of you and please make more like this. I loved this commentary, banter and just fun between the two of you. Keep it up and lets evolve Sharmelon to Sharizard!!! ❤❤❤
I remember many years ago when Sharla and Chris Broad first appeared in the same video, I could tell Chris really liked Sharla. Shortly after, Sharla was already in a very committed relationship. But Chris didn't get into a relationship during the time Sharla was with other men. He played the long game and waited for Sharla. His strategy played out and I am happy for him.
I love how this feels like a yinyang combination, the subtle english sarcasm comedy of chris and with sharla's sweet, wholesome vibes, they go well together, so cuuute❤️
If this doesn’t break the Internet then I don’t know what will! You and Chris on a trip together! You guys are adorable! I love how you two just are amazing. I love Chris and his content and you and your content. This is the best birthday present ever
It was funny when Chris was rocking out to the music in the background after their dinner and Sharla didnt even flinch, like this is normal chris behavior. It was adorable lol
Wouldn’t surprise me if it was. I know someone who’s only that relaxed around his wife. Doesn’t surprise me at all that Chris has that in him (but it did make me laugh).
You two are seemless, with how well you work together and Play off each other. If you and Chris started doing more videos like this, I would gladly watch them
Honestly I am living for this era of Sharla. It’s so nice to see you so “normal” Sharla but also so happy with Chris there. Love this content and can’t wait to visit Japan myself one day. ❤
Now that the secret is out, it is so nice to see the subtle changes in your dynamics as a couple on camera, you guys are even more genuine and fun than previously now, I didn't thought it would be possible ♥
I will start by saying your lives are not a TV show, but I’ve been waiting for years for you both to find each other (individual talent and chemistry). It’s beautiful and it was just seemingly so obvious especially when you look back. I know the road wasn’t easy to get to this point, but that is life and this is happiness!
FYI Baumkuchen is the German word you were looking for and literally translates as "tree cake". Thank you for your videos! I am half German and half Japanese and I am finally going to Japan to visit my relatives after three and a half years in February. 🤗🤗
Yes and I am totally perplexed at the popularity of the really not-so-great tasting Baumkuchen in Japan. Not even in Germany is it sought after. One of the many Japan mysteries....
I do really appreciate the shift of how you guys film your vlogs now, before it mostly had to be kept to your separate channels, which I assume was much more effort and time, having to film things separately (i.e. not really talking or being in the shot whilst the other person films and talks about their content), but now you can just freely film and act as you would going somewhere together as a couple, if that makes sense lol just makes it more natural. Love you guys!
This is hilarious 😂 your first filmed trip together after announcing you're a couple, and it's to a garlic town 😂😂 I'm glad you both are comfortable together ❤️❤️ it's deffo not first date vibes 😂
I like how happy you guys are to just explore, look at the scenery, enjoy food etc. You're both so natural at narrating at this point and can add onto what the other says. You guys have a chill, comfortable energy together and its easy to see how you became close in the first place. Thanks for taking the audience along on your trips.
I so enjoy seeing you and Chris together in a more relaxed setting instead of working like in the Tokyo Creative things. Nice seeing you both as a couple enjoying each other and your surroundings.
"Baumkuchen" actually is a german desert which apparently was brought to Japan more than 100 years ago. The word literaly means "tree cake". Since it looks like a slice of a tree. :) In Germany it is mainly eaten during Christmas time. Your trip looked amazing by the way :)
More vids with Chris and Sharla traveling together. Such a lovely couple and we get to see the real Chris. Having the dialog of both of them is great on the trip, describing everything comes naturally.
It´s almost 7 in the morning, I am still tired, it´s cold outside, have to go to work in a moment and watch this during breakfast. Sharla and Chris together with the restaurant noises in the background have a soothing effect on me.
After a day of studying and watching the news from Ukraine and all the other hot spots around the world, it such a nice, relaxing experience to see you and Chris share your love of Japan with the rest of us. Thanks for that, and kudos to Chris for giving us a glimpse into a impromptu walking guitar jam ;)
16:08 I'm enjoying watching Chris just vibe in the background 😂 I'm so happy to see a video like this. You two work so well together and I look forward to seeing more adventures together!
You are both so bloody likeable. And so good at making videos, seeing you combine like this, and Chris being less his ABJ persona. It just works. I can’t wait to see more from y’all.
Awe now doing couple video's, hit the cute index! How to say you've been in Japan a long time without saying you've been in Japan a long time, eats pastry with chopsticks LOL!
One of my favorite parts of these little “journeys you show off is seeing you navigate these places. As someone who only knows an extremely tiny amount of Japanese it’s helpful to see how things work and what you’re “supposed” to do.
I'm so glad you got to experience Takko! I had the opportunity to work in Takko for a year back in 2011 as their coordinator for international relations. Takko has a 35-year sister-city relationship with another place famous for garlic: Gilroy, CA. Takko and the Aomori prefecture are my favorite places in Japan. The food is absolutely amazing. If you can visit them during the Beef and Garlic festival, you'll have a chance for more delicious food and the opportunity to see the Garlic Prince!
I’m 44 and finally planning a visit to Japan! Aomori is definitely one of places I want to see. It’s gonna take 1.5 - 2 years to study and plan trip, but I’ll be come! And of course I’ll need to book time at Neko Neko in. Thanks Sharla and Chris for all the years of fun and adventure that has helped me plan where I want to go. Cheers to you both from Toronto, Canada ❤
I'd love to see how you two manage to keep up a relationship while working as hard and as much as you both do. Currently struggling to find a balance with this exact thing in my life.
I adore how many random single things Japanese towns will stick to. Like just a whole damn town that just loves garlic? Amazing! I haven't watched too much of Sharmeleon's content, but the editing style is just really nice and comfy... if that makes sense. Definitely coming back for more!
This is such a pretty place! Love the lanterns. The apple cake is based on a "Baumkuchen", which is a German word and basically means tree cake, as it looks like the rings you can see on a tree stomp.
@@phangirlable These are good, but I really like the ones from Salzwedel (with lemontopping) or from Baumkuchenhaus in Wernigerode. I don't like the ones with marzipan. xD
16:11 - Chris' Air Shamisen is coming along! This was a very interesting, fun and joyful video (and after years of watching just Chris it's very refreshing to see him looking so happy 😂) so subscribed.
Funnily enough I’m going to Aomori next year as part of my honeymoon. The reason is basically because of you and Chris’ videos. So thankyou for these videos, they give such a nice look at places we wouldn’t know about and give such good holiday advice!
Happy honeymoon! Wishes of a long and fruitfull life together. Free tip from a random stranger on RU-vid: Never take each other for granted, and work to keep the respect you hade when you meet for the first time. Happy travels 🙏
Loving finally seeing your posts as a couple. They are the same energy as your previous posts, accept I'm not distracted the entire time asking myself (are they dating? They have such great chemistry. I really hope they get together in day) lol. There was always a slight tension created by your editing choices before because you seemed so conscious of not being too obvious about your relationship. You are both so much more relaxed now and it shows. Love it
What I love about Japan is how every region seems to have specialisations in various fields that even a small town that otherwise wouldn’t attract much tourists can offer you something to do. It would be a dream to have a chance to do a road trip in Japan, so many things to see and do
I love that you and Chris are promoting Northern Japan in your vids that will surely get a lot of views purely for the couple content. Now that the borders are open, hopefully people actually add it into their trips and revive those tourist bucks.
16:58 I Think the origin is of the name is German as it is called "Baumkuchen" and it sounds just like that in Japanese. It directly traslates to "tree cake" because of its layers. Also: "Hi from Germany ❤️😊"
This video was perfect for me. I love this relaxed casual style of exploring Japan and having Chris tagging along wasn't too bad as well, haha. Thank you for the content.
About the confusion of Apple Gacha (19:04), the staff actually said (13:19) " チェックアウトの時まで ” (Until check-out) then she said something to explain further but I couldn't hear what she said cause Sharla started talking. In Japanese, the most important information comes to the end of the sentence, so it's really hard to know what the staff was trying to say, but the staff didn't say " チェックアウトの時だけ ” (at the check-out only,) so Chris was kinda right 😅 I'm Japanese native speaker.
I wondered when we would see content with both of you like this, it's so good! Love you both individually, and even more together! More content like this for sure
Lovely video. I've followed you both for a few years now and I was made up for you both when I found out that you were together. You are both very natural on the screen and you both appear to be very natural in front of each other too. Me and my partner have been engaged along time and have been considering a trip to Japan for our honeymoon eventually. Seeing you both enjoy a trip like this together has been hugely inspirational. Thank you.
Nice to see even on a couple trip, Joey somehow makes his way into the vid 😂. Me and my partner were expecting chris to fully bamboozle you and be like 'jokes on you, we are going to an abandoned onsen' haha
