a fair reasoning for why the Atrociraptors were refocused on Darius and Kenji, my own thought process was the fact that these campers have already eluded them twice at this point, so perhaps it was simply a case of, 'lets make sure we get our actual targets first, this time'

I feel that the Atrociraptors ignored Daniel Kon until he directly tackled them, because he wasn't the main target. Darius and Kenji are the primary target and the first priority, and unless someone actively gets in their way, they would just ignore them
And they killed him because he was going to scream or something and alert them that they were there,they likely were ordered to get in and kill them without drawing their attention so they couldnt get away,and he either messed that up or was about to.
Despite Darius/Kenji's awkwardness, this is 1 of my fave s1 eps, mainly for everything that happened at Daniel's place. I also really like the use of King Dino as a character stand-in for Tiger King :P
