This video showcases the winners of the I Strengthen My Nation Challenge competition, a collaboration between the National Institutes on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and We R Native. American Indian/Alaska Native communities have inherent strengths and cultures that foster healthy communities and this competition asked youth ages 14-25 to share their ideas about indigenous resilience to substance misuse through art or community projects. Overall participation included members from 37 Tribal Nations in the United States, which highlighted the creativity, strength and passion youth have for enhancing their communities.
