I worked in entertainment for over 30 years, starting as an assistant and moved my way up to become an executive & department head. The abuse is allowed to exist and flourish. Even as a woman in my sixties, the abuse was from all angles. I resigned without any notice and am still healing. Thank you, Dr Ramani.

I worked at a local Houston television station from 1978 to 1981 and it was such an abusive, sexually predatory (of young women like me) environment that I left the industry for good in 1981. Narcissism and psychopathy were rampant, I later came to understand. I never participated in the sexual predation but it cost me at least one promotion (the other unqualified "cooperative" female coworker was promoted) and I NEVER felt physically safe when I was in the building. The other thing is, because the male leadership was so toxic, some of the lower male managers and non-managers were unsafe too. At one point I confronted the top male executive predator about his behaviors towards me and he literally said, "Hey, you know what you have to do to get along around here.". I told him, "That will happen when hell freezes over," and I handed in my written notice of resignation. He was so angry!! My advantage in that situation was that I was financially able to resign; that wasn't other female coworkers' situation. But those of us who could resign, did resign.

I think it’s very important that you pointed out that this was intentional, there’s something very vampiric about it. Using other peoples sympathetic nervous systems to bolster himself

I actually had this thought the other day, I wonder if a lot of successful people are narcissists, because they have such an empty hole inside of them, and are incredibly driven to succeed for their ego and pride! It sounds like this video is showcasing just that.❤

I know folks like this, and grew up with a highly violatile home situation but it looked different. And trauma tho. Only for a kid with no validation and no one standing up or speaking up behind the back of the narcissistic person, it becomes super confusing and self doubting and talked, cuz where are you gonna go.

Given that Dr. Ramani's main channel has over 1 million subscribers, I am shocked that this channel doesn't have more subscribers. I will say that I rarely hear about this channel on Dr. Ramani's main channel and that could be why there aren't more subscribers here.

The money is just an instrument of power, their ego gets them far because they are willing to step on anyone and sacrifice everything to get there. I worked for a few of these bosses, and even once had one as a father in law. Constantly clamouring for the next thing to make them great, or their “cause”. But brings them misery and anger that once again they don’t achieve that elusive perfection and happiness.

Would be wonderful if you could interview/ have as guests: Rebecca Ferguson and Katie Wassiel who are exposing the abusive workplace and practices in X-factor. They have tried fighting through the courts and fought for policy changes in the UK entertainment industry and held ITV accountable. A lot of the contestants were young/ underage people chasing a dream is used against them...and they sign contracts/ NDAs that sign their creative output and lives away. Majority of them we treated as disposable objects.

I happened to watch a 60 minutes episode where they did part of the show on Rudin. That nite I felt inspired, b. At last creativity is being celebrated. But the I heard the Dr. Romani podcast about how toxic this man is. It's astounding and heart breaking how many people he has "hurt" in some way bc of his toxic ways. I did a quick Google search on him and was glad to read he is no longer producing anything in the music or film industry. His book " the creative act" is supposedly a rambling joke of sorts, and I may get it from my library solely to look at the books production quality, solely bc It looks interesting and a quality bookbinding, I'll update this response when I get a copy of that book in hand. :)

I don’t think Michael Jackson, abused any children. I have done my research, and also observed that Michael did not like the government and always was talking negative about him not that he was lying, but he was always talking about how they don’t care about us and he even wrote a song about it. And also he didn’t want to do the things that they wanted him to do so they didn’t like him and they were ready to make his life impossible and they did believe it or not the people who rule the world are not good people and although we would all love to think that they have our best interest in mind, they really don’t. It is totally the opposite with them. We are nothing to them, so he was trying to tell the people about that and he wasn’t doing the things that they wanted him to do so it became a big problem for him and they did what they did and they ruined his life. A lot of people will not believe this, and they will believe what Amelia said that he is a child molester, but the media does not always tell us things properly or truthfully, I know many people believe 100% in our news media but I have done my research and realize that they don’t give us the full news or they lie about things and it’s just wrong. Of course I’ve researched all these things for years.

@@Anonymous_Anon882 He was a vulnerable narcissist. Listen to the podcast episode with Evan Rachel Wood. They talk about the different types. Pretending to be a child or playing at being a "vulnerable" childlike adult to seduce, groom, molest and rape children is 100% what happened there. The man was a monster.

WOW JUST WOW. Jimmy Fallon is now issuing apologies for staff treatment. Warning signs when avoiding these work spaces. First - fresh out of college staff. If everyone is young thats a big red flag. Second during the interview they talk a lot about the needs of the boss instead of the job description itself. They make excuses like he's passionate and focused. If you dont like a Boss-Zilla avoid these places

This is actually a much-needed bit of insight into an abuse factory that was a focal point of the NY film industry for decades. And for those of us who experienced it personally, it is soul-quenching to hear it spoken in the light of day. Everything this man is saying is true, and also the tip of the iceberg. Sorry it didn't entertain you.
@jcrocks6698
@jcrocks6698 10 месяцев назад
Agreed. It's not the same as the other episodes. Your boss was a jerk who yelled at you, so you quit after only a few months. Good. You did the right thing, found a better job, and fixed your priorities. I don't really see the issue.
@jcrocks6698
@jcrocks6698 10 месяцев назад
@jasoneat It's not that it wasn't entertaining. It wasn't insightful. He spoke in Very vague terms and only mentioned being yelled at and ordered about. If it was more specific and offered advice beyond just finding another job, maybe there would be something to learn. As presented, it just seems like any other toxic workplace. Not acceptable, but not the same type of abuse and manipulation from friends, spouses, parents, etc. usually featured on the show.
