I SURVIVED the Quilotoa Crater Lake Hike! | ECUADOR

A beginner hiker, the Quilotoa Volcano Crater walk, they say it's 10km and 5j but it took me 8 hours and 2 breakdowns to do it!
Located in the Cotopaxi Province, Quilotoa is an extinct volcano and many fit people hike the 40km Quilotoa Loop. By no means am I experienced enough for a multi day hike in Ecuador so instead we chose the much easier 10km trek around the volcano crater looking onto Quilotoa Lake.
It's a beautiful hike, that is actually 13km according to Google fit and is less than 4000 metres at the highest point. But it was also very challenging.
Watch to the end to see the two Ecuadorian drinks I had in Pujili that I've never seen anywhere else in Ecuador + 1 hornado worth trying.
I recommend staying two nights the first so you can wake up before dawn and start hiking to avoid the rain and then to crash when you're done.
The most clear / best time to hike Quilotoa is July/August and you can camp here. But it's also the coldest months in Ecuador.
You will need hiking shoes and a rain coat.

Hi I'm Ayngelina and my full time job is my site BaconisMagic.ca it's all about the best food around the world and how to make it at home.
In 2010 I left a job in advertising, 5 year relationship and sold all my possessions to travel the world. In the last ten years I've had some crazy experiences and even owned a restaurant in Toronto at one time. And prior to 2020 I had been based in Cuba.
When the world shut down I returned to Canada and decided to teach myself video. I wanted to share more than just words and photos but to show people the adventures I have learning about food around the world.
I'm not married. I have no kids. But I do have a lot of local friends who help me discover the best local tips.

@@ayngelina Great question. I recall you saying that it's a big help if comments are posted within the 1st 3 hours, so I did this 1st. We were able to watch the entire video about 2 hours ago. The subtitles appeared well timed, and didn't seem to present any quirks. The only videos where we've noticed a "freeze" were the Q&A, and the Non Cruise Galápagos video. I think the only video we haven't watched together yet is the 45 minute "15 Foods you can't miss". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LLsLlpe09KQ.html We look forward to it.
