Today I take a 2021 Cadillac Escalade Off-Road! Help Support The Channel: www.patreon.com/bePatron?u=52... Second Channel: / @thebenhardyshow Instagram: ben_hardypl Facebook: @benhardycar
It would be pretty nice if Cadillac made an off-road trim for the Escalade. Smaller rims, off-road tires, front and rear lockers, underbody protection, etc. There is a market for it, even if few take it off-road. There is a reason a reason why cars like the Range Rover, G-Class, and Land Cruiser sell in descent numbers around the world.
The Escalade is an excellent off roader if you equip it with an off road capable wheel and tire system. This was stupid with the 22's and luxury all season tires.
First of all standard tire pressure for the Escalade is 35psi for 22’ wheels on normal roads. If you’re off roading it’s standard to reduce tire pressure to avoid punchers. Lol also you’re off roading kinda fast. Good review though!
Had 3 Escalades...an 07 ESV, a 15 ESV and regular 17. Trailered stuff, been on dirt and mud and would drive in deep sand on the beach. Most never do any of this. The Slade is truly a truck and a pretty good one. Just recently downsized to a a Jeep High Altitude with the Hemi in it. Was considering a new Escalade but no longer need something that large. Great video!!
This is the greatest video I have ever seen of an Escalade. I am Glad to watch a 2021 Escalade doing off-road in the name of science, you were driving without care but the car did a good job, tires problems are with all cars it depends on the tires brand.
Very worthwhile review. Thanks for doing something unique, but also useful. A question though. I can tell by the front end that this was not a Sport or Sport Platinum. I could not tell, however, if this one had the Heavy Duty Towing option, and with that the 4W Low option. I would like to know because I've been told that if you add the Heavy Duty Tow package, they add 4W Low and a 2 Speed Transfer Case, and with the 4W Low, you apparently get an additional extra inch rise, making the maximum height an extra 2", not just an extra 1": * So, did this vehicle have the 4W Low option? * When you had it in 2W and in the Off Road mode, thus I assume maximizing the extra height, if yours did not have the 4W Low option, when you were in Off Road mode, did you know, did you get an additional 1" or an additional 2"? (If your understanding of the above is different, please share) * When you had it in 4W there towards the end going up that hill, and I assume it was 4W and still in the Off Road mode, was it in 4W High, or if you had it, 4W Low? * Lastly, I have been torn between the new Yukon AT4, the Yukon Denali and the Escalade, but the AT4's main advantage IMHO is the 275/60R20 smaller wheel/larger sidewall tires, which are not available on either of the other two GM suv's. I'd get the new Denali or better yet the Escalade, Sport Platinum, in a second (The only to come with massaging seats) if I could get the loaded top of the line version with those higher sidewall/greater rubber 20" instead of 22" wheels. It seems you cannot. Of course, in the winter, I'd put snowtires on whichever I get. It caught my attention that you said people could swap out the wheels for smaller wheel/greater rubber tires, I assume you meant after market, like an 18" or even a 17" wheel instead of the 22" wheel that comes standard. Is that a simple thing to do, not too expensive, do you know if it effects any of the instrumentation or readouts, maybe the MPG or MPH or tire pressure readings or other things, when you so completely change the wheel size from what comes from the factory? Other on this issue? Thanks for any and all input you can provide on the above. And again, thanks for a very worthwhile review. At 59, I'm past my hardcore off roading days, and frankly, I long for the max luxury of the top trim Escalade, for turnpike driving, and getting to the ski areas and such, but I want some degree of versatility, bad winter weather, badly maintained roads or dirt roads, not for offroading per se, but to get to a campsite or fishing spot or river canoe/kayak entry point, or ski area, with confidence. Your review goes directly to the issue of that versatility or flexibility, and that is nice to know.
I mean, bombing off-road on 22’s almost guarantees the puncture. But I’m so happy you posted this video. Just got done building a big turbo Subaru and now starting a 1st gen Sequoia build to see if I want rtt or trunk camp. But Escalade (maybe esv) on 35’s with lockers is the plan
Go to Home Depot and get some Flex Seal. Put it on the tire, give it a good wash job and return the vehicle. Don’t mention the flat, just walk away. 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀
It will be good if multiple camera kept, so that we could see the whole profile of the vehicle and also how it looks like in offroad. We can see only your hand and steering.
@@BenHardyCars I figured it was something like that. I've been on a few in my Rebel that were hairy but when I go back and watch, it looks like a cake walk lol
I would love to see you push a Lincoln Navigator Black Label and Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series 3 to these exact limits. Y’all brag about the Raptor and TRX capabilities so much but I’ve never seen anyone do anything like this with _their_ platform mates. This Escalade made it look easy, even comfortable! GM simply does not get the credit they deserve and this is proof of that.
0:50 nobody should ever worry about wearing sandals with socks. Wearing them without socks is some gay dress code, plus your feet smell like 💩 because of sweating. Your body, your choice 🌈
Question is : who pays for the insane detail that’s gonna be needed to get the dust out of every nook and cranny of that thing? Door jambs, weatherstripping and every place imaginable. No way they can sell that thing as new after this.
For the Escalade to have done so well in your opinion, the title and thumbnail of the video is very misleading. The mistake was your negligent & overly aggressive off-road driving in a luxury SUV with 22-inch wheels and street tires.
Hopefully he doesn't make dents or damages i was wrong he puts a flat tire don't drive your escalade offroad like ben did change your tires to offroad tires 😔😔😔
