@@Dr.Marilyn The short answer is yes. I used to work in retail banking where I was a Branch Mgr. Being scammed is tantamount to someone getting a hold or your banking information and washing your checks and physically coming into the bank and doing a withdrawal on your account. Yup. There is a body cam video of a woman who was shopping at a gas station and was watching an older woman at a bit coin machine at a gas station (never knew they existed especially at a gas station) putting thousands of dollars in and she was on the phone with a “bank representative” and she thought this little old lady was being scammed so she called 911 and the police came. This woman had already put in over $20,000 in and was going to put in around $40,000 in and the “bank representative” was face timing his little old woman and he would tell her to show him the money she is putting in. When the officer showed up he grabbed the phone and said that the scammer was done. The scammer demanded to give the phone back to the old woman so she could continue to finish the transaction and the cop refused. The scammer said it was his “right” to talk to her and the cop can’t get involved. Thanks to this eagle eyed woman at this gas station she was able to save a lot of this woman’s money but I believe she lost over $20,000. Made my blood boil

@@Louisianawhipsbefore Bank One it was NBD Bank😂😂😂 they'll be sold again they all change. My mother and I were discussing banks a few days ago. Comerica Bank is the Only bank in my state that hasn't been bought and renamed and has maintained it's reputation 😂 Now B of A would have NEVER let that transaction go through 😂 they would've locked that account until she called Them, as well as Fifth Third they will not authorize any big transactions until they personally talk to the account holder. The bank ALWAYS says they will never call or text you and ask for sensitive or personal information because they already have it, just a few confirmation questions. If you somehow give someone access to your account they will not refund you and try to accuse you of fraud just like Chase did at first 😩 Some people fail to read that whole welcome package terms and conditions. When you open an account it literally says if you give someone access to your account you're liable for whatever happens next 😩

I am so happy for them. How dare they be dismissed when they were right the whole time. This is happening way too much these days. Can’t trust anyone or anything. That’s really a shame. I’m glad this couple prevailed and good on them for being persistent. Excellent job ❣️

Never call the number on the text. Always call the proper bank 800 number. Did Chase have the decency to apologize?

Maybe when anyone gets a call like this, you should hang up and call your bank to verify if they were contacting you.

Life Lesson; DON'T PUT ALL OF YOUR EGGS INTO ONE BASKET. Have multiple bank accounts with different companies/even in different countries. Hidden safes or lock boxes are pretty cheap. Heck, invest in a bit of gold in case the banks ever go belly up. It blows my mind that a person can't travel with large sums of money without getting harassed. Big bank transfer don't have hold periods or more stricter security checks on personal accounts.

What am I missing please someone advise me. To my understanding there was no pass code given and nothing verified but the phone was hacked? Hacked how? Was the phone duplicated by her phone service provider where the scammers could see what she was typing? I’m confused? Is this the new new! Of scamming by not even having to give out the info but just being on the phone with them the scammers can still get into your money without divulging any personal information? What’s missing here??????

they must have called the fake number. scammer asked for their code. put them on hold. then on another phone they spoofed their phone number to call the bank. bank sent otp code. victim got it then read it out to the scammer. then the police saw their phone was being spoof at the exact moment. idk what else
@geraldgreauxjr.7106
@geraldgreauxjr.7106 Месяц назад
@@Swagtastic225 kinda makes sense but why did they not specify on briefing. Seems to leave a whole in the setup of events. They stated the bank was trying to call her but line was busy so how is scammers on line still with bank? She stated she gave out no verification of code nor pin and verified nothing. I need a step by step to thoroughly understand. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed I would just like a step by step on how because it seems it can now happen to anyone no matter how savy a person is? First it was don’t answer the phone if you don’t recognize the phone number or if you are not expecting a call? Now it’s gone to spoofing, trickery and Tom foolery so just don’t ever answer your phone at all no matter what?!?! Just use it to make a call and that it!🧐
