Either that crack had shagged the whole thing or you had the polarity reversed. That noise is just the compressor spinning backwards. I have one of these and it is actually pretty loud.
Same here, had one on my electric trike and it was fairly loud. Problem I had was the compressor kept popping apart, so had to zip tie and tape the thing to stay together
The pressure from a noise of 210 dB is enough to rupture organs. A nuclear blast at 50 feet away is roughly 210 dB (make sure you've hearing protection on if a bomb goes off nearby and you'll be fine)
I remember reading that the launchpad for the space shuttle at lift off was 180db so when I see ads stating anything over that..... I'm like yeah right!

They also tend to use the scattergun approach on their listings by adding any possible description to the title. This is why it’s so difficult to refine a search. Deep Purple claimed to be the loudest band in the world, and possibly were at the time - measured at 117dB and causing some of the audience to experience nausea, later to be exceeded by Kiss and others. 140 dB will damage hearing in seconds. The Krakatoa eruption was measured at 170+ dB 100 miles away and caused hearing damage to mariners 40 miles away. Some experts put it about 300dB at source. A Saturn V rocket launch is about 220dB. So 250, 300 and 1000 dB just isn’t happening with a car horn. I’ve got a pair of Hella air horns I fitted after a tradie nearly backed his truck into my SRT8 and didn’t hear the insipid factory horns. These are fairly commanding but not in the same league as your train horns. Lower pitch carries further. I’ve fitted fairly decent horns to my motorcycles too. Great video!
Probly needed to reverse the wiring. It was probly sucking instead of blowing. I had the same issue when i wired a set up. I put a set on an 18v drill. Neighbors dogs will love it i hope.
Honestly, these 600 dB and 1000 dB horns are hilarious for me. There's probably not enough energy in the entire visible universe to generate a 1000 dB soundwave. Maybe if you consumed all of the energy in our galaxy, you can generate a single 600 dB soundwave....MAYBE. Either way, as soon as you honk that horn, your entire body would be ripped into sub-atomic particles. So...yeah.
I have one similar to the junk one in Croatia and honestly it is much better than the one you've shown in this video. I don't know if the productor is the same, but the price was similar. I don't run it with the compressor, I use a compressed air spray because I mounted it on my bicycle. Very loud the ones you have under the truck💪
I had a 3 train air horn on my semi when I pulled oversized when you grabbed that line she would echo throughout the towns and I'm pretty sure I made alot of ignorant drivers deaf 🤣🤣🤣🤣
For a loud horn you need plenty of air flow and that little pump does not have a lot. It is just not that strong of a motor and the displacement of the pump is not a lot. If anything I can tell your truck has a pump (better one than that little thing), tank and a solenoid
I have the same horn and it sounds great for the $20 I paid for it theres other videos on the same horn that captures what it actually sounds like. You just got a dud
I got the same one on OfferUp and sounds really good. it doesn't breakup like the one in the video. it's loud and deep. the compressor is all metal (chrome) and not red like the one in your video. perhaps they made the compressor better??? works well on my golf cart..
That horns compressor dosen't put out much psi , I have a 1956 Peterbilt single trumpet air horn and use about 50 psi that thing blows my air drums out .

i have the same horn (same package) but buyed on aliexpress for 17 euros and it work ! your's horn seem dysfunctional or tested in wrong electrical way .
You should have closed the crack before applying the epoxy. I guess common sense is an oxymoron. In addition, it sounded like your pump was sucking instead of blowing.
Is there a way to set this horn up to run from a power supply that connects to mains power? So that I can avoid the need for a battery pack? And have it constantly powered?
You must have received a bad one. It is actually very loud. All your hearing is the air motor. I have this on all my vehicles and boat. Train horns are too common these days.
I think you had the negative to positive and the positive to negative. I have a air horn too and my COMPRESSOR makes that sound when its reversed. Switch the connection or the horn won’t blow

Look, I understand this is a POS, but I have to question the sensitivity of your hearing if you work with air horns all the time, then you put that one up to your ear and say it's not loud at all.
I got the same horn for 16 euros... mine actually sounded like a truck horn I kinda licked it but still meh 115db nothing impressing...You can search on the web there are reviews with it where it actually sounds the right way!

I think a lot of that Wish stuff has been returned to a different company and Wish buys a bunch of stuff at a time and resells it. It looks like your horn was previously owned and someone possibly hooked it to a large air supply (and it cracked the diaphragm) (and we know broken diaphragms are bad, bad) 😂. Oh I could go on about that. LoL. Anyway, they returned the item - broken and then it was resold to you. You can tell by the shape of the box from numerous times through the shipping process. 🙄 Why do people who work in shipping packages seem so angry 🤔 .?
It's tested "dog friendly"! Didn't bother your dog one bit. The HornBlaster one on your truck, that's what we all dream of but we imagine we can get it without the full-on compressor/tank kit. NOPE!
Why didn't you test it with the shop compressor? Darn bro... shit that's as bad as testing the electric one with the charger.. ok new rule. You have to consult one of the real shop techs b4 you do any more testing.
