I'm so glad. Guy Fieri is super respected in the restaurant industry for being super supportive of servers and kitchen staff. He also donated like 20 million dollars to a fund to support restaurant workers during the shutdowns early in the pandemic. And if I remember correctly, he had a couple restaurants that when they reopened, out of work restaurant employees could come eat for free whenever they wanted. By all accounts he's a genuinely great dude
You all might think that based on what you see on TV and his fund raising during covid was a decent move. Man is rich af and any money he personally gave he was able to write off which all rich people do so no big. But.. as someone who worked at a restaurant that was on ddd he is in fact not a very kind or even nice person. Super inflated ego. Didn't interact with anyone besides the the few minutes of filming he was actually on. The production team came out and filmed a full day 😊without guy. Guy flew out and was at the restaurant for maybe a couple hours. He would film a for a few minutes and retreat to a corner of the restaurant not to be bothered. The car was flown out and he drove it maybe a hundred yards up to the restaurant. His immediate introduction to us in the kitchen was he walked in and first thing he said was bragging about how his Maserati was ready for him. Super out of touch. Talked crap about our meat slicer the only older item we had in our kitchen. Bragged about how he buys things for restaurants but didn't purchase anything for our place. We shut down two full days. Said very cocky that our business would double but we already were very busy often with an hour wait. The people you see eat are chose by production team and everything you see is free. I know this is probably standard practice but the way they portray the episodes is just odd. He's a cocky a hole. Not very respectful and that is from a first hand account. You all can like him if you want but in my opinion he's a giant tool
Guy's spot in Santa Rosa before he blew up on Food Network was actually legit. He was there every day and he was greeting everyone at their tables. He fixed any issues with the food and made sure it was perfect. He was such a nice guy. No idea these days.
I went to his santa rosa restaurant maybe 10-ish years ago. Everything was terrible. Food was bland, overcooked, sloppily presented, slow service, and the wait staff acted like a bunch of unsupervised teens, which they basically were.
@@turtlepowersf You know what I've noticed? EVERYTHING is like this now. Literally anything that could have someone paid slightly more to care way more instead have teenagers making the bare minimum amount of money who do not care at all.
I really hate to say it, however after working in the restaurant business, server to cook over 10+ years and only getting better reviews as I go, the hardest part is every cook varies, every server varies and Every customer varies. What that means is the only way you'll ever truly understand a business is by going in yourself, believimg that everyone there is trying their absolute best and if you don't like what you get then remember it, tell everyone and don't go back but do not yell at the staff and do not be a problem because I promise if they do not care about then that will mot make them and you will only stress yourself out and you don't deserve that (nobody does).
When you're making dozens, perhaps hundreds of meals every day you're bound to f*ck up some of them. Maybe it's the rush, maybe you just got careless, stressed out, tired, someone was being a nuisance, the customer or just another worker and you f*cked it up, not horribly but enough that the end product was not "good" but just... okay so you let it go to the customer BUT the customer wanted to have not just good but the best meal of his life that day because he was stressed, pissed out, perhaps just really damn hungry so yeah... I still do fuck-ups at times or just plain tired carelessness which makes the food not up-to-bar but not bad so to the customer it goes but that's life!
Wow, the prices at The Bedford! I totally understand everything is more expensive in Vegas but $160 for an entree and two sides is completely insane. And $11 for an Evian water lol. Crazy stuff.
Everything is not more expensive in Vegas. These celebrity restaurants are ridiculous. There are actually Michelin star restaurants or highly rated chefs who food is not as costly as the Bedford and have wayyyy better quality
Having lost a lot of weight to the point where I can eat without gaining any (for reasons I am not yet sure about) I eat a lot outdoors and prices are just as insane here... ...But the Evian water? Why order that at all
Just because you had a good experience doesn’t make the reviews false it just means they are an exception to the average experience. They probably happened when the restaurant was busy
@@joybwoy it could, but if most reviews are bad, then the few good ones might be people with low standards. Good chefs will still make a bad meal from time to time, bad chefs generally wont make great meals at all.
As per most people here I found you through Ryan’s videos and I can definitely see how fast this channel is going to grow. Really well produced and edited content!
the thing people have to keep in mind is that restuarant staff are people too. sometimes they'll make mistakes or fuck up, like we all do. This leads to restaurant experiences not being universal between people or even form day to day. So i say unless the experience was SUPER bad try to give them a couple chances (if you can afford it of course).I fyou have trouble with like utensils and wait time, jsut ask the staff.
Always take your food back when you’re unable to eat it please that’s the only way the restaurant will know that they’re screwing up. Please ask for a refund.
I’ve worked in Michelin star restaurants for years, in most cases we do try our best to fix what’s wrong with a brand new plate of the same or just remove the item off completely if they don’t want to replace it with something else off the menu. Not sure how it works at other restaurants. But I believe it’s different for every restaurant case by case basis
noooooo Bobby Flay!! I would binge him on the Food Network channel when cupcake wars ended 😭 chips on a burger tho… I should’ve had a restaurant deal at 11
Really enjoyed this video! I like that you test out the reviews and give your honest feedback, I have seen other videos where people will be much nicer and try to avoid being honest and only give good feedback. This feels much more real and gives me a true idea what it might be like going to one of those places!
15.49 for a burger? yep, these are the new common prices around america. i used to be able to get cheap burgers and fries and especially mexican food here in arizona but in recent years the hyperinflation and higher labor costs have led to burger and fries being STANDARD around $15 which i found out is the same starting price you would pay in LA or NYC. same deal with salads starting at $10-15 and going up to $20 or more
@@jacquestuber628 Well if you want restaurant then, 36.000IDR for Hamburger, 18.000IDR for large fries , and then 16.000 for Cola And for 72.000IDR You get all that in restaurant [ About 4$ Dollar ] In most cases it can reach 100.000IDR which is about 6$ Dollar
Not all people have the same experience in a particular place, I've personally had wow experiences at certain restaurants, only to be totally disappointed on a different occasion, so you can't bust someone elses's review just cos you ate there once. I know some people leave fake reviews in hole of a class lawsuit or some other non legit reason, I still believe generally people genuinely review a place according to their experience. I love watching your videos except for the uncanny similarity with some of Ryan Trahan's videos. I do love that you didn't just decide from the start that all bad reviews should be busted just for the sake of.
I used to watch a lot of Roblox RU-vidrs when I was around 11 years old.. and overtime I slowly stopped watching them… I am now 17 almost 18 and have recently gotten into watching RU-vidrs review restaurants & other 1 star places.. and I found this video on my recommended.. DYLAN what are you doing here???? I would’ve never thought that THE Hyper the man I have merch for (on Roblox) is now doing these review videos. Not that I am complaining.. it’s nice to be able to watch your content again.
Great video! Only thing I’ll say is that Guy Fieri got his start as the Season 2 winner of “The Next Food Network Star” and that’s how he got more well known/why he owns so many restaurants. Definitely more well known for Diners, Drive In’s, and Dives though 😂
My favorite Celeb Chef dining experience was at Gordon Ramsay BRGR at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. I sat at the diner stools which gave me a good view of the orders going out. I even got to speak to the chef running the pass while I played with my 7x7 Rubik's cube and waited waited for my food.
Definitely enjoyed this video! But wow those prices at The Bedford are crazy. I used to work at Guy’s first restaurant in Windsor, CA when he offered me a job as a cook. It’s been years since that first job, but I still enjoy making that Cajun chicken Alfredo pasta. Didn’t know he now had a lot of other restaurants with his name on it.
I’m surprised that they didn’t make the Caesar Salad table side. If you’re ever in Colorado Springs, check out the Pepper Tree. They will make the salad in front of you. Even will cook the filet table side. A bit pricey but always had great experiences when wife and I ate there.
