This is NOT “box dye”. I just needed a catchy title lol. Yes it’s in a box and it’s dye but you work with an actual hair colorist that formulates your color to your specific hair needs. This is not at all the same as going in a drug store and picking up whatever color you think might be right for you.
@@tigerleddy that's when i was new to watching brad, i thought this was some random underage kid who thought it was seriously spelt manny quinn, sorry about that 😂
Yeah but I think he did it to not get clumped in with all the other RU-vidrs that just take it and don't care about the actual product and it's outcome. I appreciate it , thank you Brad 😘
Sponsorships are tricky. Lots of people take them without knowing what the product is and their viewers buy it and get screwed over. Then everyone gets screwed over. There's a reason why there are laws involved with that stuff. People get scammed every day by this stuff.
i think it's cuz he's not just AN EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL AND WELL STYLED MAN, it is also because of HIM: super funny, humble and honest, uplifting, kind, empathetic - he just seems like a great person!
My mom has been using e-salon for almost a year now (she used it before I saw this video). I color her hair for her, and it's actually pretty easy. I pay a lot of attention to detail, and I had waited at the salon watching our hairdresser do my mom's color for years, so that combined with Brad's advice made the whole process of coloring my mom's hair so much easier.
@@glaciergang I think the Twin-Thing is more like a joke because they look alike. I guess he knows his mother is sharing his childhood pictures, and that it is no secret that they are not twins
My current best friend used to think I was a lesbian who was afraid of men when we first met cause I refused to speak to him. All my other guy friends automatically assumed that he was gay. We're both straight though, suprise!
Really random...does anyone else ever go to the salon and just say “do whatever you want?” And actually mean it? Cause I went in a short bit ago with REALLY long hair not knowing what I wanted so I sat down and said “do whatever” and the stylist was like “really?” And asked soooo many times throughout, and it was so funny cause she decided to take off about 12 inches and then did an angled cut and she was so nervous and was so shocked when I was really excited 😂 I don’t know if I’m the only one but she said I was the first person she’s ever had that said “do whatever you want” and had actually been happy with an extreme change 😂
I do it every time I go in. They can choose cut, color, anything. When they make a drastic change I tend to like it more than someone that just cuts off 2 inches but leaves everything else the same.
*Every other youtuber* : yess, sponsor, give me that money *Brad* : literally tests 3 kinds of product on maniken and on his mom, who lives miles away, and only then recomend it to us
The fact that this company agreed to let him test it before doing sponsorship tells us they really believe in the product. Unlike some shady companies not letting influencers to miss a period from their script 🤣
J2Jgames honestly it’s so fun to color your own hair, don’t get me wrong I love going to the salon too but dying your own hair is kind of like “how is this going to turn out”. It’s kind of great 😂
“You look.. stunning” Me with 3 days old unwashed - birds nest hair, dark circles darker than life itself, no make up, a bunch of acne, pj’s covered in food stains: “Aweeee thanks!”
Same! I have a half my hair bleached and eventually would like to colour the other side. Id like to support this company bc its a great idea but 'natural' isnt my cuppa tea :/
T. Dee hair dresser here. You need to lift your hair to a level 9-10 blonde and use a blue based purple. Arctic fox’s Purple rain or Punky colour’s violet are strong options. I also suggest using a toning or color depositing shampoo every so often to fight any brass.
My dear, go jump in that shower. Like don't even go crazy shaving and masking and everything. Just a little soap, steam, and hot water, i swear you will start to feel better. Also get well soon 😘
As a hairstylist this is actually kind of nice. If our clients can have access to a better at home color rather than picking up a box at Walmart (which if they’re going to color their hair at home, they’re gonna do it any way) it’s going to save us the hassle of correcting a mess, and having to be cautious about them having metallic dyes in their hair. I would even recommend this to my balayage clients with a colored root to maintain their color until it’s time to bring up their highlights.
I’ve used esalon for yearsssss now and can’t recommend it enough. It’s super easy and my sister and husband help me do it. It’s custom and affordable. Everyone is starting from a different base hair colour and I find that that changes things a lot
lauren james Bc we talk about it all the time it’s just old news it’s like just UNDERSTOOD that with every comment there’s an invisible “hes so hot” btw ya know
Very tempted by this, and I punched in all my details at their website and they suggested for me a permanent colour though. I like to use semi-permanent so it blends out, instead of having a hard regrowth line. Also it costs 4x as much as my regular Clairol brand. If I had a job I might go for that, but I think in my current financial crisis I should stick with Clairol. I don't mind if my hair is a bit redder then I want at present, in time bleached area will grow out, and I can just use the semi permanent on my blond and get the ash brown that I want.
Update: I changed my mind on semi-permanent and switched to permanent, as my roots were looking weird and pale, but I switched to Revlon hair colour, and am happy with the result so far. The colour is truer to salon number levels, and it didn't overdye my hair. It also has no ammonia. We learn as we go!
I liked that you let your mama speak. I've seen a few RU-vidrs who just talk over their mothers and only show them once in the beginning of the video. You even said you love her. This makes me like you even more.
Brad: tells me I look stunning today Me, wearing a weird towel-diaper-thing on my head because I’m trying a technique called plopping for my curly hair: nawww, thanks honeyyy
Ordered this today...during the COVID-19 quarantine. Thank you, Brad for this video even though I ordered it before seeing if you had a video on it. I did keep you in mind with you always saying never to use box dye, but I did study the website a bit it and saw that it was formulated for each person and not “one size fits all”.
it's only a dollar you ain't special I was going to switch to overtone but their dyes aren’t permanent which means having colored hair would get too pricey real quick XD but if that’s something you can afford they’re actually brill my mate uses the blue one (not sure which exactly)
it's only a dollar you ain't special sorry I didn’t see this notification. Is that a brand? Idk anything about hair color lol I just went to my friend who does hair but I don’t want to go to her again until I can pay her back for doing it for me.
@@NaomikRees that's weird i exclusively use semi-permanent dyes because they don't have anything like coal tar, formaldehyde, fragrance, parabens, ammonia, etc that have been linked to several types of cancer. i would wayyyyy rather pay a small premium now than a potential giant one later in life. plus, all dye fades to a degree. it's all about how you care for it.
@@AngelaGraceRose yes it is! i've heard very good things from several of my friends. i'm also one of those people who's been dyeing and cutting her own hair for over ten years so i'm biased when i say that i would way rather do it myself than trust someone else lol. manic panic is my tried and true. some people prefer arctic fox but i wouldn't recommend it if your hair is super porous. even if you want to keep going in to get it done, you can always get a jar or two of manic panic to lengthen the time between appointments!
I know this is a really old comment but what really amused me about that is that he actually STARTED to apply it to the roots of the hair, then remembered his training and switched to the ends, never remembering that it was just a mannequin lmao
I know it has been a year- I’m sorry I’m late. Just so you know, that bird only shit on your head because he was super jealous because you looked too beautiful that day. That’s when they do it. It’s a very rude, backsided compliment, but birds can be a little cuckoo.
I used this service for about a year. Every time I used them it left my hair with a waxy finish they also sent me two colors totally different from one to the other. Totally pissed me off that I didn’t realize it until it was on my head lol. I just canceled it. If it wasn’t for the F**k up on the color and the waxiness, the color stays on well.
I will NEVER use eSalon again. I tried to go through them to get my hair back to my natural color, which is a fairly muddy blond at the root. I worked with the stylist and she straight out told me she wouldn’t do my color because it would be “too muddy”. And she thought it would look horrible. Oh that’s really sweet lady, my natural color is “too muddy”? There were a few other insults about my natural color too. The CEO reached out and said he did take action. But I made it clear I would never use a service where that would be tolerated in the beginning. My mom took me to get it done in the chair and I got the color I wanted. My natural “muddy” blond.
@@Blakserenity Use a semi-permanent color first, like Overtone or Beyond the Zone (BTZ can be found at Sally's). Most of them are color-depositing conditioners, so no damage, and they don't last as long. I've been dyeing my own hair for 15 years, and using BTZ is always the easiest because it's very creamy and saturates the hair well
Janelle Weed Arctic Fox has really beautiful blues, and it’s really good for your hair (at least in my experience). if you use their darker blue, it’ll look vibrant even over medium brown hair.
My personal experience (natural slight wave, color treated) it has worked wonders! Leaves my hair softer and straighter. Smell lasts a while where as any other the scent fades. Leaves it less oily than usual.
probably because you tried to put it on naturally black hair and you had no idea what kind of undertones you were going to bring out ... that's what you get
Brad, my daughter and niece were watching this video because "he's so handsome". 😂 They started doing playing with their hairs and pretending they were dying each other's hair. And now I'm being pampered by them...thank you!!
I'd say this "box" set seems like a good steppingstone between a drug store kit and buying the developer and dye separately at a distributor. It combines the simple DIY element while teaching you more salon stylist's terms. Thus giving it a perfect balance👍 great find and recommendation ❤
I am a professional hairstylist and I have to admit, I have tried e-salon and I was very pleased! It was so easy to make adjustments and customer service was very easy to work with!
Me: that could be something for me 🤔 Esalon: We’re sorry... At this time we don't have a solution for hair that has been bleached or lightened all-over. We suggest trying Tint Rinse, our color enhancing treatment. Blonde Neutralizer can remove brassiness and help your blonde stay blonde! i feel like a fool 😔
Ordered some color from them!! I dyed my hair 1.5 years ago with Colorista Burgundy (and had colored once or twice with the red prior to that) and it never washed out. I colored over it with a box color about a year ago and that has since faded of course. So I'm left with my 3 inches of level 4-5 natural roots and then this faded-ass tomato for the entire rest of my length. I'm so looking forward to having some color formulated to make it not look so two-toned and crazy. Thanks for this video, Brad!!
I am so glad I found your channel. I love your personality! You are so well informed when it comes to hair color and style. I've been binge watching your videos all afternoon🥰
Oh Brad, I am addicted to your channel! Can not stop watching and I usually hate most of the hairdressers (maybe those that i met and ruined my hair: ''Your new blond ombre is not green you just must not watch it under this bright white light'') but you are sooo cute and intelligent and helping us not make mistakes, thank you!
Thanks Brad. I started using Madison Reed at the start of the pandemic.... cause..... pandemic. The first colour was GREAT and I LOVED it. But around the 3rd time using it my hair started to feel thin. I figured well that sucks. but did not associate it with Mad Reed. But after searching the comments there are MASSIVE numbers of people that have the same issue. So, I am looking to switch and eSalon seemed a good choice. Thanks for your vid to reassure me that this is a good direction to go... and... my next colour will be with eSalon! You rock!
