Do a series on testing out horizontal rubs! Never tried it, but many are successful with them. All I know for sure is that you want to use a piney type tree branch/log. They like the stickiness on their antlers.
Why would you put estrous on the kicking branch? Typically those are scented from the orbital glands. Doubt many does are urinating up into the licking branch….
Yes scent control is key. For yourself, to descent everything. And then to better your chances i think its good to use pure doe estrus, or rutting buck scent or calming scent or mock scrape scent.

I just can’t get on the boat with using scent killer or urine… I did try a locally made deer scent this year and black widow with zero results... IMO I just don’t think it’s possible to replicate the real thing…. Awesome video! I would like to see you try other brands like pure whitetail,black widow.. etc but in different locations.
I use scents and have been successful. Deer can tell how fresh all this stuff is and they know its 2 weeks old. Must freshen it up regularly!!!!! Should point out that i wait until the rut is on fire, then use doe in heat scent not scrape scent. I’ve hunted the same spots for 45 years and know the patterns n places so that helps too. I set up scent bombs about 100 to 150 yards away from the scrape line and let the wind do the rest 👍
Yeah the scents work… I’ve used them many times.. sticking some cotton balls on some limbs.. with tinks 69 works good here in north west Georgia… thanks buddy…
I use scrape fix puffer bottle on the licking branch and pee on the dirt. Had really good success with that combo last two years. Had deer on it within a day or two scent checking it and they eventually just took it over after a week or so.
Code blue doe estrus has drawn out se😅bucks that were nocturnal to mock vine scrape and I’ve learned not to over do the scent a dab will do ya type scenario and the synthetic urine is very powerful so over use can actually make a buck overwhelmed and not natural because he’s never smelled a hot doe with the intensity that he is smelling and but him on guard and cause a mature buck to put two & two together after encountering synthetic urine hanging wicks like Christmas 🎄 tree ornaments ! 😂
No scent is the best and there's no way to bottle estrus. Buck will know the difference. Lip curl. Although, curiosity does kill the cat on occasions. Save your money. They will sell it as long as hunters buy it. Fresh scent, tarsal glands from a buck.
You put those scrapes way too close together. The deer probably couldn't tell the scent apart from another. How many scrapes you see that close together in the woods?
