It would have been cool to see you use an actual iron on the bread that you tried the flat iron spray on… because flat ironing uses direct contact, and the toaster can’t simulate that.

Seems like all of you missed the most obvious point. This blowtorch gets much hotter than any hair tool on the market. The point was IF these products can protect against a blowtorch. They will certainly protect against any hair tool that's used. Bread will burn faster than hair as well. I don't see how you all missed all this. Bread burns faster than hair. Blowtorchs are hotter than hair tools. Therefore, the products work. Stop complaining about nothing 😘

The key thing for Oil heat protectants is the smoke point (like a boiling point for water but just for oils). If it is higher than the temperature you’re using on the hair it will act as a protecting seal. If it’s lower, it will sizzle your hair. Every oil has a different smokepoint.

Ooh, good to know! Is there a chart somewhere that lists the various smokepoints?

Still though, like he said, you'd have to apply so much oil to provide coverage to your hair, it would be a grease fest. In other words, a drop or a few drops of oil can't be dispersed all over the hair evenly like the other products he described.

But why didn’t he SAY Kenra out loud? I used to think he must’ve went to a Redken school (here in Michigan they were called Regency, I attended myself) because he always seemed to recommend Redken products. I have been die hard on Kenra for several years now, since I have the license to shop at CosmoProf. He 💩on blow dry sprays because he doesn’t like the “dry faster” claim and potential for over-drying, but I LOVE the Kenra blow dry spray. I admit, I have been leaning on that as my heat protection but now I’ll break down and try their official heat protection product. I just don’t understand why he didn’t say it out loud 🤷‍♀️

About 10 yrs ago, I found a bottle of hair ...stuff on my local grocery's marked down shelf. It said "heat protection for blow drying" so I decided to try it. (I can imagine your face right now.) I used about a dime size amount combing it through damp hair before blow drying. My sets would last almost 4 days. When the bottle ran out, I couldn't find the same stuff so I used what I had before. Awful, AWFUL results!! Had to cut off my hair. It made a believer out of me. Now I will not use heat without a heat protector. And I no longer use hair products from the grocery. I spent over 20 yrs in marketing/advertising and I absolutely LOVE this demo! Thanks for the video

It's a good leave-in, but you still need an additional protectant. Marketing & consumerism is why they put so many misleading things on products - the entire goal is to get you to buy, buy, buy. If you mess up your hair, you'll just be looking to always buy something better and different than what you have.

I use the Oribe blow dry spray but it feels super oily and how I am concerned that it burns my hair instead of protecting!😳 Can you please try out oribe products and review?

I think this is the best experiment video on heat protection on RU-vid. I love this video. Please do a part 2. I wish you would have added more sprays. Bumble and Bumble is the top rated one on Ulta and the employees tell me it Is the most best selling one. Please do a part 2 and add more sprays. Thank you.

Thank you for all your tips! I was wondering if you can do a review on Xmondo products compared to the products you recommend. Some of the products you recommend, I can’t get it at Ulta or at Amazon.

Hey Chris- many thanks for your videos - my hair has never been better! Do you have any recommendations for heat protection products apart from the redken 22? Looks like that one may be discontinued at least here in Europe. I can only find the low hold 11 version. Thanks

Recently been watching ur videos and I am amazed with the results! My hair is actually looking more better. I have very dry hair and I didn't knw why even though I was using conditioner and a hair mask, my hair didn't feel hydrated. My main concern now is hair fall and weak hair strands. Do u hv tips for this? Also I have wavy/curly hair, there r so many trending products and methods for curly hair and I don't knw what to do! Do i need protein in my hair or not? Plz answer!!

Should you put the heat protectant on damp hair or dry hair ? What about when you need to refresh your blow out can you use it on dry hair right before and do you need to let it dry ? :)

Chris, i am uding a iron on my hair. I bought Moroccan shampoo and conditioner and nr 7 olaplex. I wash my hair and condition then I am using blowout gel and the heat spray from redken as you recommend BUT my hair is curly and on second day my hair is looking like a have never straightened it and on third day is began to be greasy. Do you have any idea why my hair is reaching like that? The only reason why I am not using purelogy leave in is, is it not avaible in DK. Thank you 😊

question you recommend the volume injection for people with thin / fine hair .. but i was just doing research that it’s a PH shampoo , i have read that PH shampoo is only good for people with thick hair because if your hair is thin / fine it causes it to be dry and breakage .. which i have been experiencing with this shampoo could you please talk about this ? and maybe give a different shampoo with out ph because ever since using that exact shampoo my hair is brittle and a rats nest ..

Lol love the video! So should I apply the redken cream before blow dry and the redken before ironing? Is that too much?

Okay maybe it’s a dumb question but when using a flat iron should you put on heat protectant when your hair is wet and let it air dry or place it after hair dries?

THIS was amazing! THIS is what I’ve been needing to see! I’ve always wondered how a thin film of something could protect fragile hair from such extreme temperatures. Wow! If I didn’t already know and trust you from watching your videos I don’t know that I would’ve believed this! Thank you so much for this video! 💜

Hi, I just started watching your videos recently and I have adopted your routine, my question to you is, when you color and highlight your hair, should you avoid shampoos with sodium Laureth sulfate? Like I use the redken shampoo for fine hair, it does contain sodium laureth sulfate..now upon researching the subject, it seems sodium lauryl sulfate is bad..so I am confused, should I use shampoos for color treated hair? Does it matter honestly ? Thank you and I truly enjoy your informations, totally honest !!

Hi, professor! Could you do a video on coloured/colour-treated hair? Which products should be prioritised, for example, shampoo for coloured hair or volume shampoo (according to the hair type test, my result is fine hair). Thank you so much!
@natmya243
@natmya243 Год назад
He recommends products by hair type only, this is a grey area in my opinion as I have fine hair that's bleached and I do not want volume in my hair. I also think over bleached hair is highly porous which is the opposite to fine hair.
