I THINK I FOUND THE TRANSFER CASE LEAK

Excellent my caddy has a leak on the transfer case and it looks like mines the same …hopefully it’s not a pain in the ass like everything else with this car …cheers

Yea I seen this kind of deal on fluid leaking on a tc . You leave the vehicle sitting for a while and the case halfs are dry , drive the vehicle and you notice a slight oil stain on bottom of case , how ever you look up and see the trail of oil to its original location

I have the same issue on a 2016 and have not been able to track down the culprit. It may be this same issue.

My 2015 Landy is doing the exact same thing! Please let us know the results. My Landy only has 56,000 K . Much appreciated. I live in the mountains of Peru and drive 80% of the time off highway in Lo if that makes any difference.

It could also be a blocked vent tube. Creating pressure, which would force oil past the lip-seal. 👍

This is a classic case of neglect. Seal dry up when not used. This is why when storing a vehicle like over winter, it is recommended that you run the vehicle to full temperature once a month while while in the driver's seat also running the transmission to Drive and Reverse several times during the process or if possible drive it around "the block" a time or two, turning on the air conditioning for ten minutes minimum, turn the steering wheel as far left - right 10 times to circulate that fluid. I have seen more than one high dollar cars that had less than 1000 miles with oil leaks after sitting all winter.

I saw this same thing on my friends Kia Stinger Gt2 while doing an oil change.

Yeah it has to be that seal, good detective work. I'm not sure on this platform if that shaft spins even in 2wd or not. Drives me nuts how clean that thing is underneath. Ours has 100k and it's way rustier. Living in the wrong state.

Watched the oil pump vid ! Wow what a lot of work! I have a 2002 trailblazer 287.000 miles runs good Need to do the valve cover gasket or just keep sucking the oil out of the spark plug hole lol

Did the trans fluid leak collect along the whole bottom of transfer case along gasket, looking as though it was coming from the gasket?

Why is this transfer case happened on my 2019 Nissan Pathfinder twice before I get to 130.000 mile first time it was covered now I have to pay very sad

Yea that has to be leaking from the seal, Mines has 204,000 Changed all my fluids from the transfer case, front and rear diff and transmission and oil a couple thousand miles ago and it’s going strong 💯
