I think I'm done with the Fujifilm GFX100

The sun has set on our time with the Fujifilm GFX100...all 102 megapixels used and enjoyed for our short time together.
I think 102 is too much for me. PS: I also did a portrait session, so I'll be going back in time in a future video and sharing some more GFX thoughts there. This was today...so just made it.
Thank you to Fujifilm North America for the loan.

You're my favorite photographer. You brought me to the Fuji world when I was starting. You inspired me to buy X-T20 and Samyang 12mm and Fuji 56mm as my first lenses :) Two years later, I have X-T3 and 8 lenses and loving it. Yes, I come here for the great content. But sometimes I don't come here for the content and come here just for you :) Your expertise, kindness and joyful personality is what brings joy to the many of us who keep coming back here :)

You know... I think I enjoy Omar's videos the best. They're very conversational, informative, hilarious, and sometimes touching. He talks a lot about the thought process, but intersperses it with some technical details... much like most of us do. Plus I find his images are often noticeably better than some other reviewers out there. And I like that his commentary doesn't drag on and on.... good job! :)

You're absolutely right. Most people are far too focused on what technique was used to get a picture result. They only ask what aperture, what exposure time, what lens with what focal length, what ISO setting ... or their analog colleagues: Which film, which developer, shaken or stirred ... I always say: Guys, just look at the photo. Have fun and enjoy it, if you like it. It doesn't matter which technique was used to achieve the result. The result is what counts. You couldn't recreate it anyway, because the conditions will never be the same as when the photo was taken. We as people who like to take pictures should just get back to the roots from all the technology hype and enjoy what photography is all about: the joy of a good photo.

I completely agree with you, it’s not the camera and you are proof of it, I’ve seen similar photos of the NYC skyline that you captured with the X-T3 (or 4) and they were great, my amateur eye can’t tell the difference between those and the ones with this camera. You are a very good photographer Omar. Stay safe.

the thing about medium format is not about ISO and AF. its the sensor, even if the sensor is 100MP, its pixel pitch and size would be bigger than a APS or a full frame its sensitivity to light(physics one) and shallow depth of field and the format itself feels like an art

If you're looking for the place where 102MP makes sense, try an 18 by 24 print at 480 pixels per inch (that leaves a fraction of an inch on both width and height to crop). It's not an imposing size you stand back and admire from a distance; it's something far more intimate that invites - and rewards - a closer look. And it's not just about detail; there's an acuity there that you can't get printing the "same" picture from a lower-resolution starting point. It's like the difference between an 8x10 enlargement from a 4x5 and a contact print from an 8x10 negative - both are excellent from three feet away, but you'd swear you could feel the texture of the contact print if only you could touch it. I don't know how that translates into today's world, but it was the reason I carted a definitely-not-ergonomic view camera about back in the day.
